I am finding this event as boring as watching paint dry.. sad.
The drop rate is terrible, and I am not impressed by the "gifts" at ALL, I seem to get EP - coin - EP - coin -BEP - EP - EP...
    Bah humbug!
    oh wait wrong holiday..:(

Seriously, 5 more gifts to the Fox, Coin - Coin - Coin - Coin - 2 Bananas...
I miss that generous Carnival Queen

    I liked the event.
It was not fun as the feed the :inlove:Bats:inlove: or the grand monkey goddess, but as a back ground event it was nice,
No hurry, no setting the clock, no haunting the market for aid, just slow and a on the side thing.
After the scare I had in the beginning,o_O I got to see a whole area I choose to say I forgot about as I was having fun elsewhere.
I need to "fix" this part of my farm, and say thanks for the background type event, seems I needed the eye opener.

Good drops wished on all still waiting for the CR!

Oh and Doc, sad to say, nope it will be that way for all fields when doing the totally free way, ming farm is always going to the next field just to go back and mouse over everything to make sure it took the feed and water.-.- Annoying for sure.

Well, looks like the party is over for market sales. Bouquets in my market have dropped 2000 CC.
Glad for those who still need them, maybe it will help.

For me, got the cloud row and that is where I stop. Back to normal farming... maybe. Looking at converting my farm to trees for a while., but probably will just stock up on things I need

I am not surprise as some Farmers are finding it Boring Getting Must Needed Love Poems. It is Frustrating to get last Remaining Love Poems.

For Those who not have Rose or Carnation Refinements of Super Grow Love. Nor have Cloud Row that Makes Supergrow More Effective or Have Jumbo Trees Especially Super Jumbo Trees as Each One Gives 4 Super Grow if you add an Suzy Super Grow turns it into 6 Super Grow. It Helps to Nuke Super Grow Love Refinements Instantly. As When i did reap my Jumbo Trees each one gave me a Love Poem, Chocolate Cake Tin and Ribbon.

I Pray and Hope These Jumbo Trees do make a comeback in near future events as they really do help obtaining Super Grow and Drops. It Also Helps to get a decent amount of Drops When an Event Starts as I managed to complete this Event in just over Three Days.

But i did nuke some Carnations using Super Grow Love Refinements using Comfort Fields as I used 40 Comfort Fields using 40 Super Grow per Instant Grow of Carnations. Each Comfort Field Gave me 40 Love Poems, 40 Ribbons and 40 Heart Cake Tins. I consumed 400 Super Grow during the Nuking Session as Cloud Row Effectiveness of Super Grow only last 6 Hours. The outcome was i Gained 400 Love Poems.

At this stage i tested to see how well i was getting Delicious Gifts or Floral Gifts Feeding The Cat. As Each Feed Cost 2 Love Poem and 32 Heart Bloom. But is needs 8 Love Poem and 128 Love Poems needed to Make an Delicious Gift or Floral Gift. But The Odds of Winning Delicious Gifts or Floral Gifts within 4 Attempts Feeding The Cat.... in Hope of Winning Delicious Gift or Floral Gift....

Based on Some Posting Here that Feeding The Cat would make a Saving Significantly Reduce the Amount of Event Drops Needed Specially Love Poems. The Rewards Feeding Red Panda and The Goat, did not get me some prizes i would have like to have. I have come to Conclusion not to make any more Delicious Gifts or Floral Gifts after Completing This Event.

I Stick to Making as many Love Letters as I can. Then Appreciate any Delicious Gifts or Floral Gifts I get, Then Cross my fingers Feeding Red Panda or The Goat Aiming for a Decent Prize, until end of this Event.

I have not Put All my Mouse Pens out, reap as many Love Poems. Use The Island and Rain forest to Maintain Heart Blooms needed to Mill Love Letters until end of This Event.

I use to use Cash for Action Ages Ago got loads of BB, but it is no longer working properly any more here in UK. I am a Savvy Shopper so all those Sterling Pounds I save finding Bargains or Offers Buy One get One Free using Loyalty Cards etc Save me More ££££ Than I Gain BB. With Power Feed Bundles during Baby Boom and some BB Bundles During Mega EP Mini Event. I gain Better Value This Way More BB or PF for my Hard Cash.

Cash for Action it a bit of con from my views as you need to spend a fair bit of Cash to Gain BB. I Keep my Wallet Pretty Tight I only Splurge my cash when i see a Bargain. Are word of Warning on Cash for Action do not sign up to any Subscription Offers as for me in the Past they are Nightmare to Cancel ;);) I only do the Cinema to Gain BB every now and Then when i have time or when it works !!

Lusicious Bouquet and Chocolate Cake have Plummeted in The Markets. I just sell all my surplus ones i have best price i got them for was 21 to 22K each couple days ago. :)

Minutes away to finish the event.
But I'm disliking more and more this type of event mechanics.
I can understand (though not agree) the necessity of a low chance to get some of the best prizes. But this has gone too much low in this one...
Feeding those "animals" in this fashion, one by one, and getting EP or CC 9 times out of 10 is ridiculous and frustrating. Especially when we have to get loads of an event drop in order to finish an event that isn't, in any way, juicy in prizes...

Time to improve (or perhaps eradicate?) this type of pop-up gifting event mechanics...

Anyway, congrats to those who have finished!
Good luck for those who are still trying to finish!

This event does feel a bit like a "labor of love" as it is a bit taxing to get all those love poems. I'm not unhappy with the prizes though. Let's face it any event they had after that glut fest of prizes from the monkey queen was going to be a let down. Honestly I'm mostly getting crafting items from the goat and red panda with a couple of trees thrown in. I personally never mind those in fact I go in and buy up all the ones other farmers are selling super cheap. I used up quite a bit of my back stock of VP's during the carnival event so I'm happy to replenish them.

I hope to the get the last 110 love poems I need today and finally finish this event. I've had mice out the whole time but I still need to raise more and I would like to add to my stock of other animals just in case.

Coming to the final furlong on both farms now, finished with Miss Kitty and Mr Goat, got all the drops I need, milled all the Heart Shaped Cakes. Just three more harvests of the event crop, then mill the last Love Letters and Delicious Gifts. Oh, and collect the gifts - no extra for me! Will finish with about two hours to spare! I kept on miscalculating (yes, me, really I did) and forgetting that we needed four Love Letters for Mr Goat and Mr Panda and at 32 event crops a pop, that's a lot of crops!

I have to admit that I have not found this event as exciting as I expected but mainly because I had no harvester for a lot of the time - was hoping and praying I would win one or two from those critters but no dice: EP, CC, the occasional Wonder Tree, Pinky Pie, PF, SG and ... whoopee ... one, yes, count it ... one Super Mulch! :wuerg:

I must agree with Arrouquelas, the click click click for a mediocre gift sure is an anticlimax. :sleepy:

Having said that, I considered for all of two seconds whether I would carry on and complete the event ... and, of course, I am going for it! But for the blip with the harvester, I think I would have enjoyed this a lot more. :inlove:

Undoubtedly, it was better to feed the cats first. At least for me, they yielded 1 treat for the other 2 animals every somewhere between 3 or 4 cats. But, as I said in my previous entry, I had yet to see if that favourable rate, that would have cut overall crops and Love Poems need, was kept after finishing to treat the cats. And it didn't during the day or so I mentioned before I'd try. Again, at least for me, the other two animals' treats as an outcome from treating cats over the required number for the event dramatically dropped their frequency, to 1 every 6 to 7 cats treated. So, I stopped there testing that approach and switched to the traditional one.

The good news is, for me, that I never rush with event crops (generally, with rare exceptions as the Carnival event, it doesn't pay off in any way to finish the event in the first 2 or 3 days as many seem to struggle for). This is allowing me to take advantage of the extremely cheap (way below cost of making them at mkt prices) of, mainly, Heart-shaped Cakes (selling at 800 CCs and less each in my mkt right now, and I guess they'll drop even more). If I had forecast they'd become this cheap, I'd have waited to mill all needed red panda's treats till as near to the event's end as possible. I'll certainly do that for those I still need to mill.

I won't treat any goats or red pandas beyond event's basic requirement. The only things I'd be interested in (additional EP/B-EP-givers) don't seem to be part of their gifting menu in my farm, at least so far (I still have dozens to be treated).

I agree this is a boring event, and a time consuming one, for pretty little and inconsequential rewards. But I also think all events have become so lately. For instance, even the Monkey Queen parade, rewarding as it was, beyond belief, was boring to death: the endless steps to be able to attend her parade, hundreds of times, made me yawn (but I got wide awake to catch her giveaways)...

I don't know, they should think of different event mechanics, not more complex and stressing ones, not more time-consuming ones -which seems to be the trend-. I don't have a suggestion to make (I have some ideas, though), but I wish they were not as boring as they are.

Good summary there Alun, especially the point you made about finishing the crops ASAP. It has always been a conundrum for me too - why?

Have to admit I caved in and did 14 rounds of 40 2X2 Instant Roses. Would probably have made it anyway but way too impatient.
The results were very disappointing indeed: out of 40 lots the most I got was 18 Poems, the least was 10 :(

And I think I read by someone, (was it Mooboy?) that he got 40 drops every round of IFR. That would be a dream.

    Off to feed my Goats....

    Best of luck all!

The one thing many long term players (over a year) tend to forget is how it would be to play this Event and this game in general as it is now, as if it's the first time you came across it. This game, running for several years now, is in transition and is desperately seeking a balance between gaining enough new players as well as to satisfy a growing base of long term players. The times they are changing. ANY internetgame (and it's users) which runs for five years or more has to deal with it. What is popular today will be outdated in no time. Tons of examples .. Donkey King, Space Invaders, Mario Bros, Candy Crush. Games come, games go.

Now back to my point. I'm one of those newbies, started Farmarama only 6 months ago, and any and every Event is still a challenge to me. No boredom at all. I lke it. Chapeau to the Farmarama Game Team!

Where's my strategy you ask? Well, I just smile at any crop and drop I get. It's all for free afterall :)

hatzeva, I bet Mooboy used comfort fields. Even then (depending on the droprate of the particular drop) you're not guaranteed 40 out of 40, Mooboy probably used a few Howies too, to get that. Do you have truly instant roses (i.e the chestnut cloud row)? If so the roses will be instant on comfort fields too. Without the chestnut cloud row I'd still use comfort fields, takes a bit longer, but it's double the drops for your super grow :)

Am I missing something? I keep rereading the event FAQ and it says left over heart shape cakes are worth, 685 EPs + 1650 CCs, and leftover luscious bouquets are worth, 150 EPs + 360 CCs. It also says each delicious gift is worth, 165 EPs + 600 CCs. o_Oo_O:p
Did they transpose the values? :wuerg: Heart shape cakes are selling for as little as 850 CCs in my market. If the stated values are correct it provides an easy way to make some easy money. ;);)
Could one of you Gurus please clarify these values? Thank you very much. :inlove::D
Congratulations to all who have finished and good luck to everyone still laboring along.:D:music:;)

Rats, knew I was forgetting something! Remembered flower CR and artisan buffs for my refined carnations (finally got SG Love, 1st time using them on comfort fields, woo hoo!), forgot chestnut CR.:p Oh well, other buffs still took me down to 2 hours 46 minutes, I think it was, so shouldn't be too hard to wait.xD (says the farmer who gets impatient waiting for lettuce to grow)
