Improve G&T search engine

I know this has been brought up before, but one thing that makes G&T extremely frustrating, at least for me, is not being able to find trade listings I know are supposed to be there no matter how many ways you search. It would be immeasurably helpful if we could search for trades alphabetically and/or by farmer, or at the very least be able to tell who is offering a particular trade, so we know if we have the right one. Not an original idea, I know, but still valid.

 

I like your idea spotsbox of being able to search for particular farmers or.......
I find it a waste using my gift licenses to trade with other farmers.
I would also like to be able to exchange some of my sell licenses for either gift or trade licenses.
So...great ideas and still very valid!!

 

Yes, I agree 007, being able to exchange the sell licenses would be great, because, really, who sells back their stuff, especially since you don't get anywhere near what the value is.

I just spent over an hour looking for an exchange I'd agreed to with a farmer, never did find it. Finally just sent them the item they were looking for, which I don't mind doing, except the whole point of the exchange was to conserve my gift licenses.

Don't think so. We have to be in the same market to do exchanges? I guess I never knew that. That seems really...silly.

 

Yes, through the official trades you can only trade with players in the same market, I think there are technical reasons behind...

 

Well, that explains why I couldn't find their offer, lol. Thanks Mir . So I'll amend my original suggestion to add allowing us to trade with other markets, which I know woody has a suggestion here about that (I just didn't understand what was meant), so enough said.

I support all your suggestions spots! G&T event needs a few improvements.

 

I would LOVE both the better search function, (alphabetically being my favorite, cuz its the easiest for me) and the trading with all markets, that would certainly increase the offers.

 

While I agree it would be nice to trade with people from other markets whom we have agreed to a trade with, without having to use gift tickets, beware of what you ask for. As it is now the trade listings take forever to search through to find what you seek with no guarantee that the trade you seek will still be there when you find it. If you opened those trades up to all, or more markets, it could soon become so vast it would be virtually impossible to work with, even with the aformentioned search improvements.

There really needs to be a separate system where two farmers could agree upon a trade and execute the trade using trade tickets, thus saving the gift tickets for what they truly are intended for, the giving of a gift to another farmer without the receipt of anything in return.

Please consider at least some of the ideas mentioned here BP. The G&T is an excellent venue to allow farmers to pass unwanted, or unused items to newer farmers to help them advance, or for the trading of items amongst farmers.

 

You voice some quite legitimate concerns. It is one reason I suggested limiting it to higher level players or for people posting older items. If you have another suggestion for how to do both, I started another thread for that earlier.
