Farming and watching presidential debate

Not sure which was the most entertaining lol
Was like watching jerry springer meets Saturday night night live
Yikes!

 

We watched here too. I thought debates were orderly affairs. Not a bunch of grown men over=talking one another and stooping to name calling.

 

And the crowd booing...what is that?!?!
No respect for each other and no respect from the crowd
crazy~

 

It was ridiculous!

 

We haven't had TV for 8 years. Sometimes I miss it, like during football season, but I really, really, really am glad for the inability to get a good signal during election season.

I got so tired of giving my hard earned money to the cable company.
It was costing 150 a month for the same ole ~edit~.... er stuff
Id rather read or play farming games lol
My husband on the other hand moaned for weeks and weeks.
I finally broke down and went to Walmart and got him Roku and now he can watch Netflix or whatever lol

Can anyone explain to me how the president of the USA gets elected? It depends on each vote of an American citizen or depends on each state's decision?

 

Arielh, it is complicated, unfortunately very much so.

In the United States we do not elect the President directly, we elect representatives to the Electoral College based on our citizen votes. The members of the Electoral College do not have to vote based on our votes, but they usually do. In 1976 the electoral college had 1 vote for Ronald Reagan from Washington, I believe. No one had voted for him in the general election for that state.

"The Electoral College is a process, not a place. The founding fathers established it in the Constitution as a compromise between election of the President by a vote in Congress and election of the President by a popular vote of qualified citizens."
