Game Spouse - David & Lily

Life on the island, has become a breeze....
Freshwater, good shelter, and enough food for our needs
But what can we do to stop going mad?
And how can I stop Lily, looking at Thad?

Thad's counting push-ups in the thousands, it seems
wearing just shorts, as is his routine...
He has muscles on his muscles and a great tan
forcing Lily to cut a palm frond for a fan!

No, it's not to keep that Thad cool...
but to prevent herself overheating, watching that fool
any moment, I'm expecting her to begin to drool...
Leaving! I'm headed for the freshwater pool

Lily has realized my way is the best to cool down,
sitting across from me and ignoring my frown
Her tan is great - What! No-Tan-Line !!?!
as sleek as a gazelle - looking real fine...

I must hide all my negative jealousy
on this island, one and one and one, make three
But that is better than them two versus me
My attitude controls all of our destiny

This pool is so cool, returning my inner calm
it's like that feeling you get on a virtual farm!
when you have it sorted - all your ducks in a row
Hmmmm... it is a feeling from so long ago !!!

Island living is not so bad...
There's been plenty to do with David and Thad.
All morning we work till it gets too hot,
And I'm proud of the guys - they've done such a lot!!

They've made themselves a shelter like mine, too...
And so many things they've thought up to do!
They salvaged the plane's nosecone and made us an oven..
It was David's idea..we need more like him-maybe a dozen!

All over the Island we've put up some swings...
We laugh and have fun with what the day brings!
We go on hikes to explore our new home...
It's lovely, this island, wherever we roam.​

As Captain and Pilot, Thad's our natural leader,
Which is o.k. with David as it gives him a breather.
The Co. Thad flew the plane for had it well stocked
For a huge Island party - so much we were shocked!

There was gear for diving and snorkeling, too,
All kinds of games, and all were brand new.
Wine, Champagne, cases of drinks, food that we need!
Linens and pillows, and lots of books to read!​

So now we're doing well...though we're into week two,
But I see a problem that's beginning to brew...
There are two of them and only one me!!
And I've discovered how great they Both can be!!

David comes first, but if his frowns mean anything...
My watching Thad on the beach?...a storm it will bring!
But what can I do, I am only 18! My heart won't obey my will!!
When I'm near Thad too, it just won't be still!!

I thought we'd be rescued by now, but we haven't seen boat or plane.
We must be off the routes they use...and I guess that would explain
Why this big beautiful Island has no other people on it.
'Cause if they knew it was here, there'd be many upon it.

It scares me sometimes, as I look out to sea...
It seems to go on forever and ever - clear to infinity!
I have to hug a coconut tree to stop the world from spinning...
To think that all it takes is one great wave, to see the water is winning!!

With lots of spare time, in our island day,
Thoughts turn to what we did, living a normal way
I dream of a cup of tea and a piece of cake
Hmmm, we have bananas here, so what, then, could I make?

The nose cone oven heats right up, what else do I need?
Flour is just ground up stuff, I'll use that island seed !
Birds eggs from those nests, this is going well...
mix together: it looks good! as far as I can tell

I won't tell, that I've a bun in the oven; not right now
not until after I get first taste;(two hours later..) it Worked ! Wow !
Who needs a proper oven with all those dials and stuff
The only problem I have now, is, will there be enough ?!

"David?!? are you Baking? Oh That smells divine !
What a feast for all of us... Thad, now get in line!"
Lily is soooo impressed, and we had a cup of tea
Well some leaves in hot water, sitting by the sea.

Life on this island is becoming quite grand!
David baked us a 'cake'...even left out the sand!!
Lying here on the beach, satisfied to overflowing,
Working on our tans...soon we'll all be glowing!!

We're all being filled with good health, work, and fun...
I want to stretch like a cat and find the right patch of sun
To cover my skin until I become warm brown just like toast....
Or...Burnt to a crisp!! Eeeek!! I forgot sunscreen! I'll roast!!

David just left - gone to clean the baking rack...
I'll have to ask Thad to rub some on my back,
'Cause without a Dr., I must have protection...
None of us can risk sickness or infection!!

Hmmmm....Thad said yes without hesitation...
As if it had been his thought or expectation.
The thought of a back rub, especially in this heat,
Is quite appealing and might be really neat...

Ahhhhhhhhhh, yes - sooo relaxing! Nothing like it, that's for sure!!
Thad's hands are so strong and..warm..(must keep my thoughts pure!!)
At least I won't burn now - Thad's a perfect cure for my back..and my arm
...But where has David gone?? He has not returned - is there cause for alarm??

I know he had finished - I saw him walk this way...looking...
Uh oh!! I hope he's not jealous - didn't think something's cooking
Besides just some sunscreen...and well...maybe a thought or two.
But David should know my skin would burn, and have offered to do!

Oh, what does it matter! We all have to live here, and get along!
I can't anticipate every feeling..I'd be sure to get some wrong!!
I just hope we can be kind - think of each other as family...
For the most part anyway! And just do our best-just wait and see.

I couldn't agree more, CylentLea...they are both really great guys!!
But...'poor David'?
He left me to bake in the sun,
...like his banana cake (yum!)!!
What was I to do??
Bake like a cake, too?
I didn't think he would mind,
Rather than come back to find
A crisp piece of burnt toast
Instead of a nice Sunday roast!

 

Banana cake eaten, and so popular too !
The way to her heart - through her stomach - who knew ?
I'll bake a repeat but first, clean up my kit...
I'll need good cooking hygiene and a better oven mitt !

I've been the butcher and the baker, but what's after that?
Oh yeah, candle stick maker...put on my thinking hat...
We could do with some candles, so romantic too !
The flicker of a candle gives a particular hue...

Now, where are those others, now full of my cake?
Oh what's he doing Now!?! for goodness sake !
He is sitting astride her, rubbing her back !!
Is she Willingly... ?!?* Looks like it !!It's Not an attack !


The look on his face, which she cannot see...
It's becoming increasingly obvious to me
That Thad is enjoying this, he could do it all day
Lily, be alert, he thinks it's foreplay !!

Oh well, shes a big girl, can do what she pleases
I'm off to the pool, it's solitude eases
the ache in my heart, looks like I'm second best
My banana cake plan failed the test....

What will I do to get back at that Cad Thad?
His octopus hand act is getting me mad!
As hot as bee landing on a hot-plate
He wants her to be his full-time 'running mate!"

In my wanderings, I came across a red ant nest
Under his bunk, now that would be a test
No, hang on a minute, I sleep in there too!
To fall foul of my own prank, that just wouldn't do !

It's War! though, they both make me sick !
She's now made her choice;- wasn't it quick?
Lily and Thaddeus, what a mouthful to say!
Building a boat for One ! Then I'm on my way....

Our Island's going dark, something's very amiss!
The fun we've had together slithers away with a hiss.
Hidden forces at play
Seem to have taken away
Our unity of purpose to handle all of this!!

I've thought and I've thought, the cause to discover,
But there's nothing I know to warrant this,whatsoever!
Thad's protecting my back was such a simple thing to do...
Saving it for David's arms to go 'round-I just don't have a clue!

And David, my dear David, has gotten so taciturn
It's become hard to talk to him...and I'm starting to burn!
We're all in this together, and if we're to survive,
We must All work together...only then will we thrive!!

We've been through so much, David and me...
Even kissed on the moon, and made History!!
So why is he being so distant and alone -
Not even making his famous 'cornpone'!?!

And it seems he's determined to pair me with Thad...
I'm hurt and confused - it's spoiling what we had!
Well, if he's so determined, I guess I have no choice
But to enjoy Thad's company until David finds his voice!

Lily, Ive been married 23 years. I understand about jealousy and all that.
I was just being silly. If this is a real relationship you and David have going I'll shut up.
I thought it was just all fun and games.
I do enjoy your stories very much. They make me laugh OUT loud!

23 yrs. - WOW!! Congrats for that!!
CylentLea....David and I do have a real-life relationship...and Game Spouse basically started it (you'll find it nearer the beginning of this thread, post #173, p.9), although David did my Player Introduction poem before then. We are even Game Married - but this - the ongoing story - is all fun and games!!
We talk about what we want to put in these stories, and it was David's joking suggestion that we do this sunscreen/'bee on a hotplate'/jealousy scenario....and then , since we had fun with it...we decided to do it. And, as in any good story - we try to make it (mostly) real, but have fun with it, too.

So please don't shut up!! Be as 'silly' as you want - we love your feedback!! If you feel these things...then we've succeeded.


EDIT: Neither of us know what the other is going to say, just a general outline...so it's as new, and as much of a surprise to each other as everyone else!!.....

 

Nope! I've made up my mind. I refuse to make another comment until David gets out
of that boat and punches Thad in the nose. lolol

I've found a good tree that I've managed to 'fell'
Looks perfect for a "boat-for-one", as far as I can tell
And the hollowing is therapeutic, as I bash/crash away
forgetting the imagery of 'Them', yesterday

No more cooking for three, the chef is on strike
if they ask me to do it, I'll say "On-ya-bike!"
But just as I'm getting as 'fumed' as a chimney
Lily brings me some lunch, leaving it nonchalantly...

No matter! It's minimal, I'm still Staying Mad!
but those fruits were all peeled, not like what she gave Thad...
Nope! No distraction! Back to working on my boat!
She cannot lead me by the horns, like a goat.

And just when my log-boat was looking completed...
It broke clean in half! my plan is defeated.
But I'm not that annoyed, 'cause it just wouldn't have worked
My duties to Lily, I couldn't have shirked...

"Hi Lily, thanks for lunch" I start with a grin
Oh that feels better already! - thoughts improve from within
and Thad's looking really sheepish, I like that in him
de-rail us! As if ! My smile his way is thin...

OK, he got to touch the manor's fine china
but he's like the cleaning maid - that's my one liner!
I gave him a look that would freeze a strong fire
but the look I gave Lily was filled with desire...

Earth Police Fail!
I have reported the Theft of Bleem Racer
No Arrests Made after month.
It is as if the Thief / Thieves have totally vanished!
Bleem Racer is back in Barn and scratches have been repaired.​

 

Applying Sunscreen
Lily needs sunscreen, no doubt about that
Well, we All do, as-a-matter-of-fact
But there must be a way to do it just right
Without hormones keeping us awake half the night

So Thad and I discussed this over a beer
We sent Lily away, so she couldn't hear
"It's my back you are discussing!" - her pout could be seen
Without her emotion, guys talked applying sunscreen


She could do her own 'front' - an easy decision
around those no touch zones, with much precision
Trusting Thad doing there? Hmm, carefully
The Real problem was I didn't trust Me !!

Several beers later we came up with a quota
Like an Indian reservation map of North Dakota
With a simple solution, boundaries that we couldn't fiddle
We split her in half - Right down the middle!

Our plan was to consider her back like a map
That's All we are allowed, no more than that
and if Thad and I apply sunscreen equally
There is no thoughts of rudeness or jealous-osity !!

Thad was right handed, he'd sunscreen her left
from the top of her shoulder, down to her knee cleft
And in unison with him, I'd do the right
Like painting a fence, well close, but not quite!

She'd get to do our backs, in no particular order
Come on Lily!, no need to smoulder !
you are getting protection from the burning sun
and in your priorities, that Was Number One !

Well, I don't know why the guys were making such a big deal
Out of applying sunscreen on my back, but at least now we're on an even keel!
This hot sun can cause real damage, even to guys, and we have no Dr. to heal us!!
But what is that on the horizon?? Dark clouds coming this way? It looks ominous...

Oh! They're here to help - what a relief! If we don't clear it fast, we'll have to swim like an otter!


It came roaring in like a freight train, heading straight for us!!
We ran into the guys' hut, filled with our stuff..no one made a fuss...
It was the scariest storm ever imagined, and we hoped our tiny shelter
Would hold together through the storm - not fly apart helter-skelter!!

It hit with full force, not slowing one bit, and it rumbled and screeched
Like a train going over, full speed ahead, the side of a mountain breached.
It was worse than the plane crash, a nightmare lasting forever, unthinking...
The air so thick with water, that when we breathed, it was like drinking!

We huddled together, arms holding on tight, all three,
As the rain came screaming in sideways, chased by the Banshee
Wind...and lifted the roof right off, tore it completely free,
Then carried off half our stuff, almost including me!!

Their arms tightened 'round me as I screamed in terror true,
And I heard their echoing moans as they struggled with it too.
The blackest storm ever made by nature, it seemed just like a vulture.
Waiting to drown us, to tear us from life, to make a permanent rupture...
