cool_carrot_brokexD. You're too much, I actually burst out laughing! Now every time I see that I'll think of Cool Hand Luke, by virtue of my mind's strange way of word associationxDxD.

RL has prevented regular harvesting this event, so I really didn't follow any strategy, just planted what I thought I'd have a chance to harvest. I'm on task 71 on the left side, will finish that side next harvest in a few hours. Right side I'm on task 40, and should have enough crops to finish by end of the night. 109 of 120 tasks completed, CR here I come!:D Haven't counted drops, not worried about them, as I know they will come as they always do. Was a little put out today when I harvested my carnations, tho, first field got only 17 drops -.-, less than 1/2 of what a field of carnations normally gives me, other 2 gave 23 and like 27 I think it was. Se la vie, as I said, I don't foresee any problems getting enough. Haven't had the chance to reap market rewards as many of you are doing, maybe next event.

ming, you make me laugh, you're so adorably batty!:inlove:

Now off to try to get Howie before he disappears from the offerings at Renzo's.:p

    Lots of questions.

First, the LL rune. I'm a ways off from even being able to contemplate it, but how does it improve drops? Ditto the Howie whatever-it-is from the Fair? I know I'd be a whole lot happier if I had about 200 more straws than I do now. Drops continue to hold me back.

Ditched about 60 SG into a field of oyster mushrooms earlier, seemed to help maybe a little.
Seems like I'd need hundreds upon hundreds of SG to compress time enough, though. Is there a crop time reduction rune or crafting item?

Is there any difference between hand harvesting of crops and mechanization? Any difference between 1 x 1, 1 x 2, 2 x 2?

Do drops improve with each level?

I know I'm doing something terribly wrong, and I'm just trying to figure out where I'm missing the mark. I get on average 16-20 straws per round of harvesting four whole fields and the fifth with stables. I water everything, manure everything I possibly can, blast with SG as possible, I harvest as promptly as possible (usually less than 15 minutes) and I'm still back here in the dust.

gaura, based on everything you have mentioned, you did forget one very important item(s), your Country Fair and Farming Contest trophies. The sum total of their percentage is the single most important item to help with drops. What crop seems to vary with each farm. I have 2 farms, on one farm it's Iris. I do better consistently with it than Carnations. On the other farm, it's Rye or Barley, for some reason it switches between the two.

I have the machinery, I have noticed no difference with or without it.

Another way to speed up crops, other than using supergrow, is doing the refinements in the greenhouse. The best crop to use with water only, no supergrow, is getting the time and water refinements on Crop squares, many thanks to Mir for that advice. :inlove: Either Roses or Carnations for using supergrow, others may have better advice.

These threads are also filled with good advice in helping get drops. They are also helpful in other areas. :)

guara, the main advantage of the LL rune is you no longer have to lug your trophies from field and remember to put them out prior to harvest, exit field, go back... Opening the LL rune means all your fields now automatically have a higher percentage chance of getting drops (including event drops) without placing trophies - the trophies are donated to the rune. You can then continue to work on the trophies as you are able. This is a huge advantage if your memory is as wonderful as mine:wuerg:. The amount of the percentage increase depends on where you're at with your trophies.

Howie Donut gives you a 5% chance of getting more drops. I've never really noticed that big a difference with just one, and there are multiple opinions on how valuable he is, but you can have more than one, and can place more than one on a field, so if you have, say, 4, you'd see a 20% increase in drop probability. I now have 2, with the one I just got from Renzo's, so I'm hoping it will boost my drops more. We used to have a chance of getting Howie every time we purchased a BB package of a certain size or larger, but they discontinued that, so right now Renzo's is the only way to get him. Whether they will present us other options for obtaining him in the future remains to be seen.

I know there are alchemist products that reduce the time for plants in the "other" category, but I don't know if they effect event crops - I keep forgetting to try it and see, lol. The flower CR reduces growth time for flowers, and refinements can reduce growing time for plants. And of course there are the buffs that improve the effectiveness of SG, shortening growing time (fruit cake, white innocence). Buffs and refinements aren't my strong points, so I'll let someone else answer that question more thoroughly.

Personal experience only, it seems like I get better drops if I harvest with the machine vs. hand harvesting, but that's purely my opinion, I'm not sure if it's accurate or not. Also going to defer to the game wizards to answer the rest of your questions, as I'm not that smart about strategy:p.

You're not doing anything wrong, don't be so hard on yourself. You're still learning, as are most of us, you'd be appalled at the amount of time it took for the pennies to drop for me:oops:xD. Relax, sit back, enjoy the journey; you'll be finishing events and getting all the drops you need in no time.:)

baw, we were typing at the same time I think, lol.

I have the crop and livestock trophies at 11 and 8 percent respectively. They currently sit with all my other decos in the park, that sounds incorrect from what you say? How do I properly use those??

  8. spotsbox

    spotsbox Forum Demigod

I did the same thing when I started, placing trophies in the park. In order to receive the benefit from the trophies, they must be moved from field to field prior to harvesting. Place the trophies, exit field for another, return to field, harvest, replant, remove trophies, move on to next field, repeat process:wuerg:. That's where the benefit of the LL rune comes in, since once you have it opened, you'll no longer have to perform this agonizing ritual;). In the park you garner no benefit from the trophies at all.

gaura, you have two ways to use your trophies to get the maximum number of drops:

    1) You can place them in a field, leave the field and then re-enter the field to make sure they will be effective, harvest, delete the trophies and move them to the next field where you will repeat these steps,

    or,

    2) Use your stars to open the Living Legend rune at the top of the Tree of Wisdom (in the Magical Glade) where you can donate both your trophies and all upgrades. Once you do this, your trophies will have an effect on all your fields.

As you earn more upgrades, you can donate them to the LL rune as well.

The trophies are earned by completing steps in two FSQs. If all steps in either of the two FSQs (or both) have been completed then the quest(s) will appear in the finished quests section of the Farmers Society.

Upon completion of a step where an upgrade is earned, regardless of whether the entire FSQ is completed or not, you may contribute it to the LL.

When the LL is maxed out, when you click on the LL in the tree, you will see 30/30 .

If you have donated completely to complete a step in the quest and you still cannot donate the trophy upgrade then technical issues is the place to start. Your concern makes me first wonder whether or not all steps in the quest(s) have been completed.

Just because the LL is achieve does not mean that the farm automatically receives 30/30.

Just because a farm has completed a step does not increase the LL until the completed trophy has been donated.

my LL rune says 30/30 but the 2 fsqs are not done I still have 2 upgrades in my inventory and on the quest country fair I am on 14/15 and on farming contest I am 10/15

If the farm has completed the quest(s) it(they) should appear in the finished quests.

15 and 15 is 30 (15 for each trophy or quest) You should not have trophies in inventory if you have donated them.

For LL to say 30/30, a farm would normally have to complete both quests AND have donated all the trophy upgrades AND both of the quests would appear as finished AND there would be no trophies in inventory. Your specific situation does not match the mechanics of how this should appear.

Now I wonder what benefits you have been receiving or whether you have been receiving any benefit at all from the trophies.

If all you have said is exactly the case then ...... technical issues
    Hope this makes sense.

Hi Gaura and other new farmers,

I would suggest opening the Rainforest if you haven't already. I had that open before finishing the glade or baha on my second farm - huge difference in drops! Events are definitely an excellent way to advance in this game and many give stars!

Good luck to all still working on it, I'm still waiting on drops too!

If you think you are pretty good with event crop, I suggest putting out animal pens, I have kept one field of animals and some on baha since the beginning of the game and they give good drops. I've sent you drops and I hope others have as well. Hope you went to the link to ask for drops.... nothing wrong with asking for help.

I have gotten the CR, which I'm pleasantly pleased about..... now to see how much further I can go and will I finish or not... it's always a mystery. Who wants to live life without a bit of mystery? Good luck to you all!

My rainforest has been open this entire event (and used continually)

I did the trophy drag thing this morning, good thing I checked here. I'd had no clue. I did get great drops on my stables field and my two mainland fields which had looooong crops. It worked against me on my Baha fields, however. What gives? I grew pepper and bromes (longest crops I have there) and 3 straws each, which is less than average for me there.

Wife and I completed Frog Watering yesterday. Now I wrestle with the decision whether to return my farm to it's original FSQ status or continue to grow crops with the open fields. Using all the fields is surely faster for catching up on the crops. However, the FSQs are sat by the wayside till crops are caught up. Decisions, decisions. :p

Finished the event early this morning. Trees and stables nothing to write home about. At least they were mostly XXLs and no Yellows.
