It's a me thing I guess, I want it done as fast as I can do it!
I want my drops to have spatted and my event grows to have the 3rd harvest cut done and out of my life. I want to be growing normally at least three days ahead of time:p
ming is still a worry.... I need that CR on the little farm..... nails are being bit.

Me, too! I was a bit flustered by my drop count this morning. Then I thought to look at my % (I blame my super-smart farm hubby. Can one become smarter by association?:p) and it didn't seem nearly as bad. So from now on, I'll gauge my progress that way.

I totally agree, 45 in 24 hours will be easy. We could get almost half that from daily gifts.

But this event -no drops will we see
    :wuerg:
    They were, once, standing mightly
    with a sense of reliability
    but no more! reduced stupidly
    or worse, irresponsibly
    :wuerg:

    I rate this a calamity
A sad Easter for you and for me
    we've witnessed devalue-osity
it is now just a common old tree...

Oh oh .. you became too wise! Age, grandkiddos and all ..

There are no eggs to be found in this Event. "Eggs" are rewarded once you completed a strain of tasks. Just follow the path given in the event window and you'll be fine.

And we're off to a fine junks growing party ......... again!

    I'm:

    Pleased with the Poop sales
    Loving the Lettuce sale
Amazed at those with a lack of Apples
    Welcoming the Walnut price wars
Laying back and easily cashing in on the Lilac
    Crazy over the Carrot craze
Overwhelmed with the success of Orchids
Calmly raking in the Chicken coins

    Drop? huh Worry fooooooor what?
More important matters on the farm like:

36 hour duck feathers used needed the ducks and the feed, the ducks needed the feed to get produced, the mill needed the crops to produce the feed. I want every .01 of the entire production chain. OK to borrow from the barn for a few hours ..... but the barn wants it back plus a return ...hahahahaha

Biggest problem is a water shortage. Not enough storage containers. Big big big problem!

Almost forgot, I need to run 88 cuckoo pens again to sell the poop to pay for them and be a cookoo farmer (One-Two don't say anything please)

Awe heck ....... This water shortage is going to cause me not to water the junks.... hahaha no hurry hurry

Glad to see all doing well at doing their thing. Maybe you'll think about taking a junks day off.

hmmmmmm Who knows how many gazillion junks this time. hahaha I think I have about 30 now so I'm proud of myself an you kind folks have taught me to take pride in my junks growing and ..... well ....... I think I have a ways to go.

Respond to 12ss12 Question by Being Well Prepared for This Event on my Farm. I got 91 Pruning Shears on my First Initial Harvest...My Island and Rain Forest was full of Trees, Glade had Jumbo Trees with Trees on outside, Green Meadow and Main Field had , Cookware Forge,Ostrich Eggs. Sawmills and Hydrant Factory with Trees.

Did not use any crops as i do not use crops anymore as Trees,Production Pens and Jumbo Trees gives me much better drops. But to get a better drop rate would need at least 24 to 36 Hours of Preparing your Farm before Event Starts to get much better Drop Rate. Animal and Crop Trophies or LL Rune is more effective using this Tactic than using Crops or Animal Pens I Hope this answer your Question 12ss12 ;)

I had a suspected the drop rate for this event will be much lower due only asking 250 needing for Whole Event. I move my Magic Trees to my Park replace it with more Effective Baha EP Givers in my Shipwreck. As it is first time they do not help with Event Drops.

Those who do not have Jumbo Trees, Then Production Pens is way forward to Prepare Farms for Events. As is nice to have a Booster which gives you nice head start to this Event so far 116 out of 250 is not bad at All. I am unsure how much help Growing Easter lily would effect on Drops we have to wait and see :p

I agree this is the best way to prepare any farm for any upcomming event. Make use of the longest running production pens and/or trees you have. Time it well and success on the highest possible amount of event drops on your first harvest during an event is guaranteed.

Thanks Moo, I learned a lot from all of your posts. *hug*

Just did a full harvest of event crop - mostly 2 x 1 squares and got 20 drops. It started badly with two off the main field and three from the Meadow, four from the Glade, six from Baha and five from the Rainforest....
And NONE from my eight magic trees !!!! (Not so magical anymore) Will swap them for a single pen (each) at the next G&T !!?!! Naah ..... Two single pens !xDxDxD

Just tuning in for the day, long night the last 2 nights, slept almost 12 hours:p. First harvest garnered me 63 drops, which would seem abysmal during normal events, but seems good here since we only need 250 total. Had onions on CFs on 2 fields, canola in magic glade (was gone yesterday, didn't get home in time to put in carnations, plus need canola desperately), jumbo trees in glade, variety of trees on fringes of fields, and badger, otter, and 2 armadillo pens. Baha had ginger with a slight mixture of trees, rain forest mostly trees with a mixture of ginger.

bearbabe got a total of 49 drops, 3 fields of iris with trees on fringes (trees don't seem to be dropping as well this event), bell peppers in CF on Baha, and all trees in rain forest. Overall, a good start, I think.:)

    Hi!
From what I get, my gray matter does not work well.... but all the fields around the center must be done like the haunted house, then the outer ring and then we can do the middle.
It seems the giver areas need nothing but clicking on them once you work your way to them. easy once you get the pattern. No eggs as I thought we would need to break them or something but no just click and go.

Mooboy I quoted a part of your post to emphasize a part. We had not discussed this in advance. I did not prepare very well in advance to harvest right as the event began due to RL and really lack of concern. I still have a field full of 36 hour production pens to harvest in a couple of hours, my island and rain forest were full of trees also (various ep .... I just threw anything quick out there ...even bananas and coconut hahaha). I used the meadow with 1x1 raspberry with which had refinements. Primarily only because of the time cut AND more importantly I wanted a return on the CAC use which I could not get immediatly from trees, pens or production pens. I did have a field full of ostrich which was harvested as soon as event began and that field was immediately turned to event crop and other crops.

I have around 55 drops and have not harvested the production pens yet. I was really tempted to put out 48 hr koi pens initially. I'll still have time to play around.

I really should not be fooling with ducks ..... hhahaha ... Not profitable at all now. Easy easy with mice lololol

Trees were left out on BAHA and rain forest. But I am going to run a couple of long time crops because I have CAC running and the opportunity to do so without going out of my way until next event. I want the return on CAC use again.

Long time production pens have worked well for this farm continuously.

I agree with you and hope others will consider.

Mooboy, I'm trying to do better but .... I keep trying to see how foolish I can be on the farm and still easily complete events. Maybe it's just getting in the mood to grow junks.

Wow....Mooboy, that's a lot of drops!!! I don't have any jumbo trees and perhaps next time around I will try for some. I did have alot of trees out in my rain forest. I had one field all stables and workshops and that yielded the best drops. I ended my first harvest with 56 drops, so I'm happy with that! Poor bunny broke..... hoping your tail is now in the right place! Everyone have fun and easy does it...!

Sorry david, no single pens for you. Magic trees cannot be traded. You can hope that this is a one off experiment and that they will go back to having magic for the next event.

I agree with you. What I will say in the form of a question will take drops back to time again.

Given three farms, at the same level, each with no drop boosters, all farms are ready to harvest at the start of an event, which would you expect to have more initial drops:

    a) the farm that put out 36 hour production pens in three fields
    b) the farm that put out 20 hour trees in three fields
    c) the farm that put out carnations in three fields using 1x1s

A 36 hour production pen takes 4 1x1 plots. 4 x 36 = 144 total hrs total production time (active time prior to harvest)
Four 20 hours trees us the same space. 4 x 20 = 80 total hrs production time (active time prior to harvest)

    (edited for spelling)

I have finished the inside squares and have done 2 on the outside.
The next 2 squares are either 85 shears or 100 shears
    That might take awhile lol

That Magic Trees wouldn't yield any event's drops was the very indication that they planned them to be very scarce and relatively hard to get: they're prone to a weird understanding of the concept of fairness, and I bet they thought something like "with such a low drop rate we are establishing for this event, those having lots of Magic Trees would have a large advantage over those who don't".

Of course, it's ridiculous, but I bet that was their thinking.

Long duration animal/workshop pens/jumbo trees are never a good bet for getting good event drop rates, except when drop rate is as low as it is in this case, for the reasons discussed so many times already, tested and proven on a daily basis with all kinds of drops if you happen to pay attention. The same reason why an XXL tree of a specific kind will be a better any-kind-of-drops-yielder on a longer period than its own XL or basic versions, but these two, the latter, are better for initial harvest at an event start that will have a low event's drop rate (simply because they were on that 1x1-plot for a longer time than its XXL version before event start).

The point is, though: we never know what that rate will be, we can only make somewhat founded guesses. So, it's always better the safer bet, more generic, always applicable -unless you won't get event's drops from crops-: 1x1s with the longer crops you have (or you can afford to plan), ready for harvest at event start, with its parallel tree version: 1x1 trees, the longer, the better.

For an average typical event with higher than this event's drops rates I never had better drops from long animal/workshops and/or jumbo trees..... Never....

By the way, as always, unless someone knows s/he won't be available enough during an event, I can't see the point of ripping apart a farm for overly special and time-consuming pre-event preparations (I recall only once that it made a significant difference: the Monkey Queen's event): whomever is now, at this point, with 129 hs. left, at 30/35 event's drops count is in good shape if s/he'll be enough around during the whole event....).

Well, it's the end of the first day for me, the bed awaits soon. My husband and I are both exhausted-- he was stuck at he office overnight because of the blizzard yesterday. Easter Lilies are going well. I have them in four fields at the moment, but will switch that to the two Baha fields soon so that I do most of my production there. (I need experience over there that is not FSQ related and the event crops do well there). I will be doing FSQ/ Garden Expo on the main fields starting tomorrow I think. 3800 lilies plus all four fields so far is fine by me, especially after the glitch.

Apples will be ready to unlock in the morning. Explanation-- us newer farmers have to donate to the farming trophy. Tree crops are my ticket to doing so. Walnuts-- same explanation-- Saturday I think. Oh well. No biggie.

Drops have been tough for me as well. 37 total on the day. I did, however, have a lot of field sitting empty this morning so hopefully it will be a little better tomorrow. I am doing the trophy drag. I keep reminding myself that 40 a day is all I really need. I'm not drastically behind. *crosses fingers and toes*

If the drops behave a bit better tomorrow and onward, I think this event could go well for me.

Time question-- did we ever determine for certain whether Germany enters Daylight Savings Time on Easter proper? I have to admit that the time change here in the US was wonderful for the Play it Cool event-- I was able to work it about 1/2 hour before event close. That's much harder for me to manage when the events finish at 6 AM rather than 7 AM.
