Update for sirpippen's farm: As stated I've left my farm in FSQ mode as I want to see how well a non-striped farm will do during the event.

30 hours into the event I have 6,222 Lilys in the barn and 115 shears.

To me I'm nearly half way there in just over one day. :)

I see no trouble finishing this event with plenty to spare. ;)

Growing easter lilies on only one baha field. Two main fields are filled with orange chicken coops and easter lilies along the edges. Rainforest and magical glade have the usual trees and stalls. Think it'll be a while until I finish xD

Don't worry Mir, you are not alone :p
I have chickens all over but growing event crops on both baha fields. I have never done an event this slow - I am practicing slow :music:
and I am into poo business :wuerg: and selling out all my carrots....hopefullyxD

No, I am not the least bit worried :) Making good money on chickens, poo and carrots while it lasts. There is plenty of time to grow the event crops :p

RL has been kicking me in the butt today. That's not unusual, Friday for me is 3-4 days rolled into one, but today has been particularly so. Eight loads of laundry is a bit high.I missed a harvest time entirely-- almost all the way to the NEXT harvest time. Next harvest shortly.

Thanks Mir. So far I have never been able to say no to planting of XXL Tree before the event starts. But next time I will definitely say no to XXL and plant ordinary trees and see the effect. Same goes for the Animal/workshop pen base.

I am better today. Woke up refreshed.

Thank you SuzeeRabbit. I think I have understood some of the basic structure of drop rate from your post and also from our other good friends.

Thanks once again to everyone for enlightening me about the drop rates.

Mingling, I waiting for some stalwarts to answer your question. So that I may know the correct answer too. ;)

I been playin' with what I got but I just don't have the workshops to do a full test:( stomps foot being a null can be frustrating.
I am still on pause on the farm, workshops seem to be a place I need more tests in grrrrrrr

now event crop need 6000, drops only need 84, finished the two lands that need drops.
I will switch back to normal farming once I grow enough the lily, I'm sure that I could get enough
drops on my mix farming style.

I usually do event crops (even overnight :wuerg:) until I have enough to finish - I am not usually a crop grower, I prefer animals, workshops and trees but decided that maybe I could grow something longer overnight and increase my drops. It worked on both my main farms and I now need 100/102 respectively - will repeat the overnight growing schedule for those two farms until I finish. :D

The newest farm - which is not supposed to be doing events but can't resisit! - is doing very badly. Only had 42 drops so far. I have one field with half trees and half animals - mainly orange lower level animals and not many long term (one Ostrich and two Rabbit Shearing sheds) but even so: 3 Pruning Shears! A field of Oyster Mushrooms got me 3 Pruning Shears and a field of Hazelnuts (my highest crop) gave me a massive one Pruning Shears! On Baha, not fully opened, just one section to clear, and planted with event crops didn't even give me one! All these are planted in 1x1s.

It is not worth posting on the SOS thread as, even if I got my maximum 20 gifts a day, that would give me 100 between now and the end of the event, with my current rate of drops, I will not finish. Not complaining, as said, this farm is not expected to finish but I can see the frustration of new players who can do the hard graft planting event crops but never get anywhere near the amount of drops required. 8)

I still need 78 drops & approximately 5000 crops in this farm to finish. In my other farm I have not reached 60 drops yet. In my 3rd farm I have only 15 drops. Will not finish in the said two farms. Only 12ss12 will finish.

Think I will use this event to experiment - putting out Ostriches and Bees on baby farm tonight. Let's see what that brings me. Now do I put out Apple Trees round the outside or event crops or Hazelnuts? :music:

Oh, and in Baha I will get out all my trees again though they didn't give me the boost I'd hoped for at the start ... o_O

Currently at 102 drops and 12470 event crops. Will get all the event crops required in the next harvest which is coming in 4 hours while I experiment with Mooboy's carrot strategy in the meadow:
-Edit- Wow, really got a drop from a carrot field. Thanks Mooboy for the strategy :D

Drops slowed down for me in day 2: 3 ostrich egg farms and a paint factory yielded 1 drop. Most production pens aren't giving any drops. Most of my lillies aren't giving drops either. Waiting to see what carnations will yield in a few hours. The first day's drops were much better and I haven't changed the set-up of my farm. Perhaps things will pick up again in a day or two so I can get this thing finished.

    Believe whatever you choose regarding T - I - M - E . But there is much much more.

Which pattern below gave the most drops:

    A) 400 productive hours 2 drops 600 productive hours -0- drops 100 productive hours 1 drop
    B) 400 productive hours 1 drop 100 productive hours 2 drops 600 productive hours -0- drops
    C) 100 productive hours 1 drop 800 productive hours 1 drop 200 productive hour 1 drop

??????????? There is no difference in total drops for the 1100 productive hour time ..... None If one looks at the above in a single isolated time period then of course one may find a differing amounts just as we always do here.

In this game the total will not vary widely for a given amount of time in order to maintain fairness to all.

An algorithm is nothing more than a set of rules. The developers establish a set of rules for the drops. The above example varies the distribution of the drop frequency. It does not vary the total drops within a specified period of time (in the example the total is 1100 total hours of production.) This is only an example. Within this game there is a drop distribution rate. In order to make this very difficult for players to figure exactly, this global rate can be subdivided into rates by field or by category or crop or different for crops vs animals vs production pens ...... as experience and data is collected the rates may be tweeked daily and BAHA rates may be slightly different. Any differences that are planned are kept within the global distribution plan.

We can apply this same line of reasoning to breeding based events. Ever notice how often the same results appear during baby boom?

For this reason and ignoring all else, as I received 3 drops from 12 standard duck pens, another player may receive -0- from a total field of ducks pens.

I can predict the number of drops I will receive from a field. I need to know what is produced and the base time to production completion. I am very accurate within a range though and will not be anymore accurate than I am now UNLESS I am able to determine the drop distribution rate as in the example above. (Unnecessary really and very unlikely I will be able to do it and choose not to waste any effort ... no useful benefits to me.)

    One-Two, I won't say anymore ..... farmer's honor .......lol hahahaha rofl

Last night I planted my longest crop barley in all 3 fields and coffee in baha fields.
I need just 56 more drops to finish
I just planted roses in all fields. I'm feeling pretty confident that I will finish this event :)
    Happy farming everyone!!!

[IMG] Was it because of the smiley I posted or the words in any of my post ? I can't figure it out.

I have a cuckoo question shall I ask it ? Is your marketing in that area over ?

I wanted to share one of my greatest disappointment with you all. No...No..No... not the drops. As soon as FAQ of this event was posted there was an offer in the market for 1000 chickens at .10 CCs each. I clicked it as fast as I could but someone was too quick for me. He/She grabbed it all. I am so sad..:cry:... thinking about it. xDxD

hahaha One-Two, I can't talk about that anymore. hahahaha I think you did the right thing before. You were so kind.

I have not really begun just yet. I sold about 40,000 at various prices to test market.
    • There are still free cuckoos in barns.
    • Simply breeding them gives the best return of all animals.
    • There is a demand through several FSQs.
    • There has been no recent breeding event focusing on cuckoos.
    • The product requires 8 cuckoos
    • crop circles have increased in price steadily (for feed)
    • Angels trumpet has maintained a a fairly stable price and with a slow, steady increase
    • Periodic bubbles exist in this market for long periods of time. Indicates they are ignored. Price too high for too long.
    • Pens expensive
    • Feed expensive unless one can produce part of the chain and mill the feed there is no profit in it today in producing them
    • Price behavior is similar to that of pandas. With pandas there is not nearly the demand nor was there narly the number of panda given as free.
    • Exchange Value analysis still indicates hold
    .
    .
    .

There's more but I had better shut up until asked. lololol But I really love it when you do:

Keltic will finish no surprise there, Great advice followed well and lookie I get cookies.
    Please no more drops here.

:( Sadly, ming does not look good, that farm needs that row and I got every workshop I own out and will not be enough.
The crop is done, and stalls and trees everywhere....... dragging tail and heads for a dark place on the farm......
