    Birds in Adayar River Estuary, Pattinapakkam, Chennai (Madras), Tamilnadu

    Birds in Adayar River Estuary, Pattinappakam, Chennai. Near South Cannal Road. Early Morning, february, 2016. Photos by my mother (as usual)

    Beautiful birds in the busy metropolitan Chennai. It will just take a few observant peek out from our vehichle along the road to notice these birds.

    This is the river which submerged the bridge. Remember I posted photos of it in another thread. This is the river which caused the flood and marooned Chennai.

    She is blessed to have you as her child 12ss12! Perhaps you will take her photos and send them off to one of those book making internet sites and have an actual book made for her, or gather them up and make a nice blog or online photo album for her.

    Arielh ! The valley view is very nice. Post more pictures. If you see any birds or animals in snow, please post them too. I have never seen snow fall in my whole life. Many a times I think it must be fun to have snow. But then movement will be restrained due to heavy snow, will it not ? Do you very often build snow man? Like to see some pictures of them too.

    Willow I am glad you like the photos but I didn't take them, one friend of mine did. She takes amazing photos of landscapes.

    12ss12 we don't usually get snow. Last year we got snow on New Year's Eve and this year we got snow after the Christmas holidays for one day. Before that we hadn't seen snow for around 8 years! A lot of places in Greece had snow this year but they usually don't.
    It's fun having snow! We had for only a day and we didn't have any problems but other countries which get snow often have a few problems but they are also prepared for them and residents use some things for their car's wheels or they have other ways of dealing with the snow. You should ask our American farmers here to tell you more.;)
    When I was younger(like I said 8 years ago) I used to built snowmen now I don't. I didn't see any animals when I went for a walk during that snowy day. This year was the first time my sisters touched snow they are 7 and 9 years old. I hope you will also be able to experience snow:music:

    Thank you Stella. We had plans about releasing books. But some years later.
    But didn't think about the blog. That's really a wonderful idea. I will try to put it into practice. Thanks for the idea.

    Aren't they ? I will tell my mother about your comment. She will be in cloud 9. She took more than 150 photos of the birds. Went there for 3 days in dawn and took the pictures at sunrise.

    The following pictures are also from Pattinapakkam (Foreshore Estate), Chennai. The place is known as 'Broken Bridge'. You can see the broken bridge in waters. Film shooting are also done here. Its fishermen region. Mostly silent. Many do not know about this place which is right in heart of the city.

    Kaiteriteri beach in Nelson Province, New Zealand. Our family summer picnic spot...
    the water would be 22 degrees celsius (72 in USA speak) or more and was just bliss.....

    Nice place, David. Just perfect. Not too much of people, unpolluted and extremely beautiful with trees and small islands.

    I love all your photos from the hot climes; I too want to feed pelicans, swim in blue lagoons and avoid alligators!
    Up where I live we still have winter. Another couple of weeks and spring will hopefully be here.

    This weekend we took a boat ride down the St. Johns river. It was so peaceful and quiet, we saw some different types of birds and one little alligator.

    @hatzeva
    You live in such a glorious place. The lighting effect with the snow on the grounds and roof tops are soooooo beautiful. In our place we never get snow. You have to go to North India near HImalayas to get snow.

    @JJenks
    That bird is an egret. Your pictures are beautiful. You saw alligator ? The topic of alligator is now the hot news in grapevine thread. All are sharing their experience with alligator. I have seen them so far in Zoological park only. I can imagine your trip. Exciting & refreshing.

    Both of your pictures are beautiful. One of best threads & one of the thread I like most in this Forum is this thread.

    Thank you very much farmerlily22 for starting it.
