G & T a little disappointing

I was disappointed that we couldn't gift swans yet;
That said, I had a blast showering a new person with lots and lots and lots of fun stuff.
She was overwhelmed lol It was so much fun.
I always give new people a scent tree because they are so pretty and so very helpful in all the breeding quests we do .
Which is why I always and only request scent trees during gift and trade
I will always remember the shower of gifts I got as a newbie and I will always pay it forward ~

how do me ask for stuff? me farm is still needing stables and trees, I trying to do quest in the city

I've found the last few G&Ts very disappointing, everybody seems so greedy nowadays.
I was after some neon & red stables, but not prepared to pay the ridiculous amount people want for them

 

jools I didn't see any requests in the G&T request thread it helps sometimes to post in there because there are so many wonderful people willing to help in one way or another you should give it a try

 

I agree Jools...52 honey trees, 15 parrot trees, 3-4 howies...its absurd. I remember when it was easier...u didnt have people asking for absurd amounts of stuff

I agree...I mean seriously, 52 honey trees for a pink pen...wondering if players realize it cost BB's to get G/T licenses...Jee wiz they're not free! And for cryin' out loud, don't post a Yellow Chicken coop for a Pink Panda...c'mon!!!Players need to think about what is a fair trade! Tired of looking through list after list to find not one decent trade...makes my brain hurt!

Yes I agree about having to witness some unfair greedy offers want so many very rare items for a rare item. Also having to see so many worthless Trades too asking for something that is worth far more than what they are offering. Plus during Many Trades cannot seem to be able to get hold of certain items perhaps there is no in circulation any more for items that could be won during Events Before many farmers have started this Game, as many items is no longer obtainable due to some older farmers no longer play this game. These Items are lost for good.

The older items are much harder to get hold off, it would be lovely if there was come back for these items in near future event i do not want to see this event becoming off putting event but this all should be said in Feedback Postings for Barter and Gift Event ok

 

I am glad I am not the only one that feels this way. I like Mooboy's idea that maybe some older items be given a chance to return.

Another suggestion would be; when a decorative is listed if the value can be listed either when u see on the screen or u click...that would help. Some new players dont know a fence is worth nothing.

Also; like DBAYES said licenses cost money so I would not buy 52 licences to give someone honeytrees...I think a limit should be placed on those kinda things

 

When I see someone wanting to trade a chicken coop for a pink pen
I just think that must be a newbie with nothing else to trade.

I did make a good trade;
someone was offering 5 salt trees for one kingfisher. I thought that was a real decent trade

 

I, too, am mostly just using G & T to gift items. I did get a howie donut, which I wanted and another honey tree (using a lot of honey making banana jam to give away...lol)
There used to be a few good trades in my market, but now its all junk. I think it might help if we could switch out what market we are in for the Gift and Trade, but the real issue is that we have had so many lately, folks don't have a lot of extras lying around any longer.

 

Don't very often do G&T ... I don't like asking ...but every time we get mystery trees ...I seem to be getting the ones I already have ...don't mind that ...but when the ones I am missing which is only a few... at some point will be discontinued ... wont ever get a chance of ever getting them ...thought G&T might help on that

Asked for 4 flares.... I thought I had finished that event ... couldn't find it ... I HAD finished it ....Found it this morning on another cloud row so that is another one finished

 

I think there has always been trashy offers at G&T. I don't know if it has gotten worse because I use the search function to get what I want. And I did get a lot of good deals - so no complaints from me.

Howies are really hard to get after BP doesn't give them away for free anymore when purchasing bbs. I used to get 1 Howie for 1 of the newest trees. Greedy? Maybe, but I got them. I understand people want more for them now because they cannot get another anymore. You can get one in Renzo and that's it at the moment.

As for the 52 Honey trees asked for a pink stable. Hmm, I am not sure what to think about it. Posts has been edited so I don't even know what kind of pink stable it was. I would not even consider the offer though BUT each honey tree has a value of 5 bbs which makes 260 bbs + the tickets for a pink stable. How much pf can you buy for that and even be sure to build a pink pen?

If you go to the store you can buy an orange stable between 22 - 320 bbs depending on the animal. Is it still greedy?

I know that you cannot get honey trees anymore and you have to consider that too, and how many trees did you have to buy to get 52 Honey trees? And you can build the pink pen using only ccs, but you don't know what it actually cost that person.

Maybe the offer is greedy and maybe not. I will not be the judge of that. I was just wondering about it

 

When it comes down to it ...I wouldn't think there is a lot of difference in cost ...but 52 honey trees is a lot of trees to find room for
I wouldn't trade the pink stables I have for anything ....I like the pinks VERY much...that's my goal in this game .... trying to get all the pink pens
And hopefully one day I shall have them...probably wont... but I can try

 

This is a really interesting conversation. G&T has always been hard for me because I'm fairly clueless about what to offer for the things I want. I want to post a fair trade but it's so hard to know what other players consider a fair trade. Everyone values most things differently depending on their playing styles. Unfortunately most of my trades ended up with me getting the short end because I don't know what other people want or what they are willing to pay. I've always hated the let the buyer beware philosophy, sooner or later it just screws everyone. This probably sounds a little unreasonable but to make it fair for everyone I kinda think the trading should be according to the game value of the item. Like, game value should be listed and the trade on both sides has to balance. I know, I know, some things are just plain worth a lot more to players because they're rare and/or will fulfill a goal of some kind but the way G&T is currently set up, it just causes even more game unbalance. I SO wish farmerama would put some work into balancing the game better, it would make it much more fair so everyone could get the same opportunities and benefits.

 

I like your suggestion to put game value in the trade post because I have had to leave the listing and go search items that I am unfamiliar with to find out what they were. You should place it in suggestion forum in case they change GT searches. There are so many EP Givers now and I usually could not compete in previous events because of limited access to computer time.
