A competition sounds fun, but I think you should keep them for yourself... Sentimental value reasons! :inlove: Isn't he your first baby boy?

He is my first baby boy but I have a Mischa's first antler shed, in my kitchen, which we have not done anything with yet... Mischa was my first "heart" reindeer..
I have launched the competition on FB.. so too late, someone will have them after the Easter holidays.. :)

Now, this isn't mine BUT the first reindeer to be born this year... a big bouncing boy in Alaska... For whatever reason Alaska is always a month ahead (think it's daylight hours at rut... but who knows) My girl's calves are kicking well but the girls haven't even started to "bag up" yet. So at least 4 weeks to go... :)
It still gets my excitement mode on 100% and such a big baby for early term!!! :)

Attention seeking behaviour, maybe??? My Big Boy Boris, ever the clown!

Rules on here I can't post new unless someone answers... doesn't matter what you say... just post if you want updates. Otherwise this thread goes to sleep.. :(

I didn't want to hog being the first to post after your post but I guess I will from now on since no one else stepped up. I'm sorry I let you down.

    Boris is a card!

:oops:Sorry Karen, we definitely do not want this thread going to sleep! Sometimes I forget to check in on you and your herd unless this thread pops up in my first page of unread watched posts! (Which it usually does, but not this time-.-).

Silly BorisxD, at least he picked a lead rope that matches his halter lol :p.

That must be his Easter Bonnet!:) (Boris) And I just love that new born baby in Alaska. It's fur looked really dark, like almost charcoal gray do they come in that color?

Oh how did I miss this  A new baby, even if it is in Alaska, she's beautiful. :inlove: And of course Boris is just tried of you watching all the girls and not him....had to get your attention somehow.;)

Sandollar, to be honest, most baby reindeer babies (especially in the USA) tend to be that dark colour. My USA reindeer herder friends love the fact that we have different colours.. but all I really care about is that, that first baby boy is a big healthy, bouncing baby. :)

Been wanting to share a video of Mischa, one of my "Ladies in Waiting". She is spending silly amounts of "Me Time" grooming, lazing about - once she starts redecorating the field shelter, I will know it's time to go on "close watch"..

She doesn't have the baby yet to clean so she is doing the next best thing! :)

We also did a couple of "sillies" for April 1st, a little late I know but just for a giggle..
It is always Santa's "Try Outs" for his team on April 1st... Hector was hoping for his call up...
These were the pro's but beware low flying Hectors!!
And the new member of our herd... the elusive Jackalope - only seen on April 1st, the rest of the year it hides underground...[IMG]

You only see him on April 1st because he's on vacation. Here you can see them more often.

Impressive Mischa can still reach all her feet for cleaning. In my last weeks before baby, I couldn't even see my feet!;):pxD

We are all excited for your herd and its new additions this year. Thanks for keeping us updated.

Archepelago (Alaska) are on their 3rd baby, picture below (theirs are always dark brown and they tend to be bigger babies than mine - different original stock- mine are from Finnland, slightly smaller adults but vary in colours).
Making me so broody, although my girls are looking rotund, I still think they have a few weeks to go!! Hoping for some pale grey ones, with white faces likes their daddy, Monty... :)

Mishca is just giving herself one last pedicure before the baby comes. That sigh she gives at the end says it all...lets get this over with. xD
The babies are beautiful :inlove: I'm getting so excited!! I love the lighter colors of your herd and the spotted noses, just can't wait to see what Monty brings to the bloodline.

Williams Reindeer Farm (also Alaska) have had their first... A little heifer calf (female)... Alaska is always ahead of us in the UK... presume it has to do with daylight hours at rut... but not sure..

They have to have something you don't have. (You don't want them to be too jealous.) After all, you get more colorful reindeer! :pxD:D:inlove:
