Probably there is a good reason why three animals: turkey, pig and horse have around the same price now, despite having quite different production times. I might learn it one day. But since the Event is coming I have two questions for Experienced Mentors (tm):

    * should I expect big rise in price, big enough to buy them now and sell higher?
    * can I expect that the price relation will hold and producing short-producing one (turkey) and exchanging for horse will be a viable strategy during the event?

    Cheers :)

Like in the real world, in this game it's very hard to make predictions on how a market will do.
If we knew the key to success, everyone would be rich.

    More important questions:
    * Are you willing to invest your hard earned CC and hope for the best and fear for the worst?
    * What do you expect? 100 CC profit on each, 10k CC profit on each?
    * Do you know the marktet price of the animals when there's NO event around?
    * Do you know how many of the animals are approx. available to be sold on the market?
    * Will you be around and play the market when it peeks?

A quick answer to your questions:it's never too late to start building stock. If you're unable to sell with a profit this time, you might be in a few weeks, months or years from now. Just keep an eye on the price you pay, stock up and be patient.. very patient.. that's what this game is about. There is no fast, quick or easy way to top the ranks.
In general: prior to any event, everything you have grown yourself will always be (very) profitable.

Selling in years from now is not an option for me, as I have only around 500K CC now. I saw that during "crop" events profit was 50% or more, so I am simply asking if that is the case in "animal" events too. I know the prices from few days ago, probably they are good estimate of no-event ones. And I am observing the market now. And yes, I am building stock, but that takes time.

What you describe is great way of playing on market if you have some CC you can froze in items. Noob like me don't have it mostly, so ATM I look for a short-term profit.

I hear you Fluff. My advice is to take it easy and make progress in the game in a steady pace. There are no quick and easy ways to do it other ways. I'ld say: grow as many horses, pigs, turkeys as you're able to, sell those straight away at the going price and enjoy your earnings. IMHO for you, for now it's not worth to take a gamble with buying them from the market (price already is over twice of what they normally do).

You're doing well so far so keep going and have fun while playing!

Keep an eye out at which other sceduled Events are ahead. Start growing those animals and/or crops the moment they are announced.

Best fun for me is optimizing and searching for tricky strategies ;) But I'll take your advice, thankas!

    hehe.. Good!

I'm playing here for a mere 8 months and have been there and done that, looking for tricky strategies and the such. To be honest, reading the forum and taking in the advice of other players really did the trick. The more one advances in the game the more oppertunities, and choices to make, will occur.

    Don't worry, be happy.
    Keep smiling!
