Temple of Doors Event Strategy

WOW Manure is the highest price I have ever seen -- over 600 CC in my market and GOING UP!!

 

Well, I was going to wait until I had at least "all" the crops and drops before I started donating but impatience got the better of me! Now I have no idea where I am, how much I have completed and how much I need. So I am just trying to exchange for what ever door is open at the time. Illy has 3 completed rubies (I presume that means those rooms/doors or whatever are complete!) and Chevrefeuille has only one complete ruby and five with holes in the middle.

I really haven't the time to check out what this means or to read this thread in its entirety - I am just hoping that by keeping one field of each event crop going and doing whatever I can with the other fields, I will trip over finishing this event. Both farms have the CR and two of the EP givers ... that's not bad, is it?

Little Chevrefeuile is being very sensible and, though it is unlikely it will finish the event due to the low level of drops (crops not too much of a problem ... if I get the right keys that is!) but I will definitely hold back from donating/exchanging until I can't wait any more - that is, when I have no spare time left to carry on!

All in all, complicated event that is best not done when all my concentration is elsewhere lol!

TEPs are Bahama EPs. I think it stands for Tropical EPs, but I could be wrong. If you hover your mouse over the level it says the number of TEPs you have earned.

I haven't known what I have been doing since the event started ... only to grow the crops and count the drops

All I know about rubies is they light up ...and have got three of them alight and the others ..when I mouse over them ... I get exploration round 2/3

I am good at getting waves circles and squares BUT triangles I cannot get

Have got the FAQ open also and even that gets me confused

One thing I do know ....IF another event comes up with random in ...I wont be doing it

 

The rubies show how many times you have completed a door in a room. A completely lit ruby means you have opened all three doors in that room. If only the center is unlit, you have opened two doors in the room and if only half the outside of the ruby is lit, you have only opened one door in that room. Completely unlit, you haven't opened any door in that room.

I must really be dense, because I still don't totally understand how to read the rubies.

For those who are waiting to open the doors until they've grown the required amount of crops, be careful. With the randomness of the keys it may take more than you think to open the doors.

Personally, I'm just wandering around opening the doors for the items I really want and the only way I know where I've been and where I'm going is by having the event FAQ open to see what I've been able to get and what I still haven't got.

 

You all can count me in when you say "I do not know which room cum door I am in ". I now see that all six rubies are filled in and it says I am in 4/6. Three of the rubies doesn't have the centre part lit. My windows shows only squares, so I need to make them. Very much short of it. Can harvest only tomorrow.


Can anyone say how to find out what rooms of what doors you unlocked ? I am truly lost in the maze.

 

You've unlocked all the rooms except 4, 5 and 6...

I should have kept a track of whatever doors/rooms I opened and also which direction I turned. Hmmmmmmm.....I should fare bad if left in a tunnel/labyrinth/maze- whatever you term it. Now I truly understand the intentions of the makers of this event and feel it. I am lost in the tunnel with a torch which only shows me the immediate path. That's what they aimed ? we should get caught in a tunnel ? I like this event. If you keep track of your movements you know where you are going and what doors you have passed.

Since that was what I didn't I searched all my inventories etc to see what prizes I got. I see I have got the sticker, cloud row, and other 2 item. But not the off the rails (room 6). Got 5 ural trees, 4 party spins. But no baha wonder trees (room 5). Now I am in room 4.

Eureka ! I found out. I need 4 square keys + 1 triangle & 3 wavy + 3 triangle & 2 wavy.
Out of it I have only 3 triangle. So totally I need to make 4 squares, 1 triangles & 5 wavys. I still need 103 drops. Now I can sleep in peace. Since I don't need circles, I think that's what I will get in great amounts tomorrow.

 

For those who haven't started yet to open doors (like myself), beware that the only way to have a certain degree of control on how many event's crops to grow is following Mir's advice: growing enough of the 8hs crop (+ a similar amount of the 4 hs crop) to exchange them only for the random stones first until you secure to open all the middle/right doors in the first two tours: it guarantees all the items and the CR. The minimum -if you get the exact amount of each non-square stone, which is almost impossible, due to randomness- is 7770 of each crop. What I'll do is getting those amounts -I still need to grow some 8 hs crops-, exchange and adjust in accordance. Only then I'll proceed with the square stones if I decide to go for all the other rewards that do not relate to the CR.

And, finally, again, for the n-th time already, a reminder about drops, already proven beyond any possible doubt: avoid jumbo trees/pens and long term pens/workshops at event start, any event start: they can only yield one event drop while 4 trees or 4 1x1s may potentially yield more than one event drop. For the same reason, particularly for an event like this one, for which event's drop rate is pretty generous, in the case you are having trouble with event's drops, banish jumbo anything or long term pens/workshops from your farm.

It amazes me to no end that some self-called experienced players keep suggesting that: a suggestion that makes no difference for mature farms like mine but that can be harmful for the chances of getting enough drops for those having farms at a much lower level or with less resources.

 

I decided to start making my "keys" this morning as I had plenty of crops and almost all my drops. I was doing pretty good up until the last one which was the CR. Needed a wave and triangle.....got the triangle but the next 2 have been circles. So far I only have 2 extra circles. Just knew I would have been too lucky to make the exact amount needed. Hoping that wave makes it here tonight

 

So to get the last giver I need 2 waves and three triangles - so I just made some keys and I now have 7 circles. I officially hate this event and just want to finish it asap.

I've just finished this event. I've been been playing since 2012 (level 101) and never seen such a confusing event. I only really knew what I was doing towards the end, and completed the levels without any plan.

I completed all the tasks.

However, I did all the random keys first, so that I could calculate how many more crops to grow. I used Cac and Zab, and carrot Bread throughout, and twice I used Easter Marmalade to increase my ep.

On completion I was left with 16 silver vases and 718 lobster claws (I miscalculated the lobster claws obviously). I currently have 123 excess stone tablets which will increase until the end of the event. I also have 2 triangle keys and 3 circle keys left over.

I didn't enjoy this task, mainly because of confusing instructions I think. Anyway, I'm pleased I completed it and advise you to carry on, as the end is probably closer than you think. I was so confused that I hadn't realised I was so close to completing until near the end!

 

Another day of trying on BillyWhiskers for wave keys and another day of failure. Still need 10 wave keys. So tired of this event. Too far in to quit? Cut my losses and save some aggravation? With just over 2 days to go, it isn't looking good....

 

Hey...having the same issues...you grow for hours & hours then u exchange for some random key that i dont need...frustrating!!!

 

finished event with @ crop over 1000 excess.
But I don't regret.
I'm really happy "The mighty Lucky God" stand on my side which I don't really short of any one random shape.

 

The broke farm is really neglected and absolutely no regrets about not bothering with this event. It;s taking care of a few things though.

Two baby farns started. One graduated from th nest days ago. "Doo Doo" sales have been fantastic. ABsolutely sure this event is a waste for newbie farms. (In a couple of days I'll post the status of the farm and there will be no doubt.) No good for the mid level farms and players either.

The second baby farm is just fooling around with the mentor but can graduate from the nest at will. After it graduates, I'll sell everything and gift the fafm to the neighbors and its a done deal. No objectives and nothing to learn from it.

 

the only way i kept track was by the prizes I went after . Now that I have finished 6 rooms...not sure if say room 2 in cave 2 will come back after i finished room 2 in the 3rd row

OK: So since I jumped around heres what happens when u go the 2nd round...for me: the party spins I choose the first time so when I get to that # door, the party spin door is open so I can only choose the other 2...I am shooting for the stalk row...so here is where u have to make the choices of which to best choose next. I keep referring to the chart in the FAQ's so I know whats coming next and which way to go...I hope this helps someone
