Temple of Doors Event Strategy

yay I have officially finished on both farms I finished on this farm like 30 mins ago

 

Sixty hours ago I was in need for only 2 waves to finish the event with a single triangle as leftover. Seemed an easy piece of cake to do.
Well .. NOT!

Finally got the last of the waves moments ago and finished with 18 (!) excess shaped keys.

My current status from this morning's harvest:

I now need 6 more wave keys to finish the event. I have used all suggestions with gathering random keys before starting to donate and have waited in between exchanges and then when I did get a wave, I hurried to exchange for another one but none of those tips have worked on this farm. I'm now up to 24 extra keys with just one day left. I will keep trying today but will probably have to look for the missing EP giver in Gift and Trade, if it can be found. Thank you to neighbors and friends who have sent messages of encouragement, stone tablets, and CAC to help me continue this event. This really has become the Temple of Doom!

 

I can make 5 keys, I think. But no drops. Waiting for them. They will take few more hours. Still need the same 2 wavy keys. IF I don't get them in the next try. I have to grow event crops once more overnight and see tomorrow.

 

Step left, step right, back up, spin around or run away.
ming got the givers, CR up and running, but MM is comming and CAC is short, what way to go? I could stop as only goodies to get but would need more crops and drops, ummmm

I think this will be the 1st quest I walk away from not finishing as ming farm just not up to it yet. I got the CR that I think is enough. Gets up and jumps in the grass along the path got way too many other areas to do to burn everything up to finish. manually ripping out the stalls to plot and seed just not worth it, keep raising animals and sell to make cc to buy items to work the farm young farm is a burden without goodies gotta work it everywhere!!!!

now, left the last Room 6 : 3 Triangle, 2 wave
I had 15 Wave, 9 Circle 0 triangle
So, could I got 3 at end of event.
I only know my cloud row still need 1 giver
I keep growing vase & claw, keep an eye on my drops.
Oh, What a horrible event I ever experience.

Look at my shape stock 13 wave excess, 9 circle excess, this no may even cont'd increase
what thus figure mean ....
13+9=21 shape, 185 X 21=3885. 18X21=378
so I had already waste growing 3885 vase, 3885 claw, used 378 stone to get something
completely useless. Don't help me to complete the event.
Is this the game designer intention? If this is the way to push palyer to spend $$ for buying
the stone,event basket, spend Bb for the SG, SSG ... Sorry, I'm not that kind of customer, BP!
I nearly forget the most important thing,
This is just a game, I don't had FOCD, I don't mind to have a grey CR,
I paly this game for happy, If it make me anger, Just drop it!

@puppiesnponies Am I missing something or you have enough shapes to get all EP givers and CR? Not for the full event, sure, but for all important items - yes!

In @habalala's post #19 you have strategy to het CR+Givers in two rounds using 16 squares + 8 circles + 9 waves + 9 triangles. Just swap Round 2 Room 4 from middle door to right door (Party Spin Tickets instead of Ural Wonder Trees) and cost changes to 16 squares + 9 circles + 8 waves + 9 triangles - which you have.

 

But @fluffykiss you are forgetting one important thing - FOCD (farmerama obsessive compulsive disorder) dictates that we MUST finish the event even down to the daft sticker that we don't actually want!

Actually this is interesting thing - how people with FOCD endure low lvls when you simply can't finish events sometimes?

 

Nellie...I have been having a dreadful time getting a circle...just one round, can be chipped, circle...

TC U are right...but I will do my best to avoid that sticker!!!

 

yes, fluffykiss, you're right. I can get the cloud row and givers. My main goal for the BW farm was to get the trees, PF and cloud row. I cannot get the last 50 PF in the final room without all the keys. It was part of the plan for the Neon breeding event coming up. I won't worry about the trees as they will eventually come to the farm from other quests or events but the PF is a big attraction for me in this event.

 

It's a hard blow, heads on the farm hang in shame knowing that one could not go the distance.
I feel the dark cloud stopping over that barn, animals lost the skip of happiness, crops droop in the light of a new moon...
The farm. The pride. The challenge has been lost. ming is a baby farm but every farm aims for the goal, the goal of done that did it all next!

It's a fail in your care. It's a mark on your lack of do it power, other farms try not to look as your barn falls just a bit, sad sad day.

FOCD fluffykiss, is a badge, something to show your farm I got you back. but when one fails the farm.....just a sad sad day.

 

I got 1 more wavy key. Just one more to go. Waiting for harvest to get the stone tablet drops to make the next one.

In my third farm which is in level 76, I am just quitting with the last harvest and just deposit whatever keys I got and get whatever prizes are available.

Second farm I might try to get cloud row and its items + powerfeeds

 

I am with you. Thankfully, I am at the point where it just doesn't matter. That is, another cloud row is always nice, but its not a "make or break" deal for me. Real life is busy right now, so the time I give is the time I give and that's it!

One note.. per the randomness. I am with those who are disappointed. I have thirteen triangles, 7 waves, but need 1 more circle... and I am now out of stone tablets. I am starting to put my farm back together. Drops for my "regular" stuff should be equal or better than the event crops.

 

Unfortunately if you want the cloud row, items and the 50 PF you have to complete the event

 

LOL...I am at the cloud row...all i need is a circle...got other keys...to bad we can trade. I can get the cloud row w/o finishing the event...I have gotten all the EP givers...it all depended how I went back and forth between the last 2 doors. So once I win the cloud row it will advance to the next room...if I earned the prize then the door is open which means I have to go for the others...

Doc425 is correct I keep that faq open and thats how I planned my strategy of getting what I wanted

 

Oh ! I think I will go for 50 PF. Thereafter if possible cloud row. Thanks for pointing it out Mir

I always kept choosing between the middle and the right door (whichever reward I wanted first) and when I started nearing the end I donated squares as I didn't have the drops but got lot of 4 hrs event crops. Just one wavy between me and the end. Wavy ! Don't keep me waiting & wavering. If you come to me as the next key, I will ask David or any other poets to compose a poem on you.

 

I went the route of the 50 PF and now am in doubt of getting the cloud row. I have all the givers, but may not get the row to put them on - need wavys - have 11 extra circles and 7 extra triangles so far. Oh well, it's one less row to have to hand harvest.
