    ***********

Since this a sort of complex mechanism, I will first explain how to play the game.
The requirements will depend on your strategy. But I will try to find a general strategy and post it.
Please excuse me if I make any mistake, there are sure to be lot, as this is a difficult strategy. Point them out so I can change the errors.

This strategy is not only by me but also by illy1996 & Jools.

Moderators, please allow me to post pictures as the game can be explained only with help of the pictures.

The fox below your event window will show which level you are playing.

First let me explain how to play the game.

There are 30 levels to be done to complete the Event in full. After that if you wish you can once again start from level 1. It will be termed level 31, 32….. The game consist of 10 levels and repeats in a cyclic fashion. So 30 levels is 3 times of all 10 levels. So calculations have been done for 10 levels.

For each Level, there will be 16 lanterns. See the picture below. For every level you will get fresh board of lanterns.

If you lit lanterns in a single line, you will get 2 star coins.
If you lit lanterns in 2 lines at a time, you get 4 coins.
If you lit 3 lines at a time, you get 8 stars.

    I. This is one set of combinations. I have taken it to explain how the game works.
The 3 lines are seen in the picture below and they overlap in Lantern No.16. No.16 is overlapping lantern in this combination. It differs in each combination.

So if you want to do the 3 lines or 2 lines simultaneously inorder to earn 8 or 4 star coins, you should light Lantern No.16 last.

After you finish your combination ( it may be any combination, single/double/triple line) or after you complete any line vertically, horizontally or diagonally, you can move to next level. It’s not necessary to all lanterns in that board. If you wish to recieve a particular reward for a particular lantern you can go or it. Once you finish Level 1 and move to Level 2, you will get a new board ( corresponding to level 2) consisting of all unlit lanterns.

There are 10 boards totally and they keep on coming in cycles one after the other.

    Boards are same for level 1, 11, 21, 31,…
    Boards are same for level 2, 12, 22, 32,…
    Boards are same for level 3, 13, 23, 33,..
Boards are same for level 5,15, 25, 35,…
    Boards are same for level 6, 16, 26, 36,..

By lighting a lantern in a board we get the corresponding reward.
For example if you lit lantern number 1 of level 1 you will get 3000 TEP. If you lit lantern number 1 in level 2, you will get 2.000 CCs

And with the star coins we win by doing the combination of lines, we go to the shop and buy whatever you need.

For Cloud Row with its items:-
    • The CR and givers need to be bought from the event shop, using star coins. The total price of them is 80 star coins.
    • As you can win up to 8 star coins per level, the minimum levels you need to complete is 10. It is best to earn 8 star coins each level. That is you have to do the 3 lines combination for every level. So you can get the cloud row and its items by doing 10 levels. This is the best and easy strategy.
    • If you do single line, Its 40 levels. 2 star coins x 40 levels = 80 coins
    • For 2 lines, its 20 levels. 4 star coins x 20 levels
    • For crops, drops and other requirements in each of 10 levels, please see illy1996 post below.
    • One doesn't know what combination you are using, so total requirement for each player will be different according to his pattern of lines/combination and it might be less too. If you have finished a combination, you can lit the other lanterns just to get the reward. illy1996 has calculated for all 16 lanterns in every board on the basis that a player would like to lit all lamps and get all rewards for the lamps too. But if you go for just the combination, the amount will be less.
    ************
    • Total event crops/drops for one total round is :- (Calculated for all 16 lanterns per board). " The current event is different than the previous Firefly event. In this edition you cannot complete all 16 lanterns on a board, because as soon as you do create a bingo combination, your board will switch and you cannot continue with unlocking the remaining lanterns. A bingo combination will be a line, column or diagonal - the more you manage to do at the same time, the better! (examples are in the FAQ) "
So the below calculations might not suit your combinations. And you have to make your own calculations depending upon your combination & you might require less crops, drops.

    19,200 Glowberry
    38,400 Hyacinth
    1,200 Tents
    1,200 Thermos Flasks

    *********************************
II. You can do this combination too.

    III. Set of combinations.

    Rewards :-

    1. New Category

Cloud row (buyable once) + its items (buyable several times)
    – requires 80 star coins
    2. Miscellaneous Category:-Each Buyable: Once (total 35 star coins needed)
    1. Four Flares Event Sticker -1 Star Coin
    2. Harvest Helper Coupon - 24 hours - 10 Star Coins
    3. 40 x Power Feed - 16 Star Coins
    4. 8 x Stars - 8 Star Coins
    3. Classic Category :Buyable multiple times.
Previous Four Flares: Firefly Festival Event Giver items
    1. Let there be lanterns : 25 star coins
    2. Four Flares : 20 Star Coins
    3. Glowberry Preserves : 15 Star Coins
    4. Firefly Collector : 10 Star Coins

Some strategy tips:- Thanks to Jools
    • Any completed line counts as a bingo combination, not just those shown.
    • Looking at the drop requirements, each lantern that needs drops requires 40. So it's just what you have more of rather than any combination requiring less in total.
    • Lanterns that require event crops need either 600 Glowberries or 1200 Hyacinths, which take the same amount of time to grow. So that choice will depend on what fits your schedule best
    • For level 1, the diagonal 4,7,10,13 requires NO drops, and only apples and eggs in addition:D
Strategy to obtain 34 Star Coins to get only the additional prizes available in the shop
    and
to skip the cloud row with its items. :- Thanks to habalala

Getting these will allow you to buy the harvester coupon, power feed and stars in the event shop. Click Here for the strategy

8-coin-patterns that require the least amount of event crops: Thanks to-Mir85- To see the strategy click here

Another startegy with less crops, drops and rewards are less too ;) :

This one looks like a real doozy (not sure how you spell that!). o_O

I took the time to do the sums and I am really hoping I am wrong!

I may sit this one out ... unless I can work out how to need less crops and less drops! Working weekend for me and I don't think I have the time (or the stress levels) to go for this one. I have created the SOS thread. :)

Good luck everyone and EYES DOWN for a full house! :D

first, thanks 12ss12 to made the strategy thread.
However, I'm sleepy, so, my brain is working at 50% efficiency.
I catch a bit what this event work. But I think I need to read this thread & FAQ
tomorrow. When my brain is much clear.
I only hope that I could had time to prepare my farm when I woke uo next morning:oops:

With no actual end this rather depends on what you want to get out of it.

As I'm sure most player will at least want the completed cloud row, lets look to see what is needed for that.
The CR and givers need to be bought from the event shop, using star coins
The total price of them is 80 star coins. As you can win up to 8 star coins per level, the minimum levels you need to complete is 10.

Now this is where it starts to get tricky:eek:
a level is completed when you complete a bingo combination, there are 3 combinations depending on how many lines you complete. So if you are not careful lighting your lanterns you may not get the maximum 8 coins per level. if you only get 2, you will need to complete 40 levels>:(

having a quick look at the levels, it's not possible to complete any lines without crops and/or drops, so looks like we need to gow loads of "junks" and hope the drop gods favour uso_O

I expect the drops are going to be the limiting factor, so it might be best to work out what combinations require the lowest drops or each level.

There are also quite a few animals, including breeding animals - so if your stock is low it make cost a bit

That will do for now, I'll go off and try to get my head round what may be the best combination for a few levels and report back later

No, Jools. You are the third! One Two beat me and then you to the chase but I am sure your strategy will be a welcome addition to this very complex event! ;)

I think one of us has misunderstood the "rules"

I was under the impression any completed line counts as a bingo combination, not just those shown - so it might not be No. 16 that completes it

looking at the drop requirements, each lantern that needs drops requires 40, so it's just what you have more of rather than any combination requiring less in total

lanterns that require event crops need either 600 Glowberries or 1200 Hyacinths, which take the same amount of time to grow. So that choice will depend on what fits your schedule best

OK: for level 1, the diagonal 4,7,10,13 requires NO drops, and only apples and eggs in addition:D

illy1996, Jools,12ss12, thanks a lot for starting this thread and figuring out the numbers and best way to do it.

It is for a reason that it is stated as hard in the FQS.
One might also want to check out the rewards when doing the combinations. Seems pen and paper are must have in this event.

Well, I figured out I'll NOT be going for the CR and it's givers this time. Not worth the effort. Instead I'll do a "quick" one and get the additional prizes available in the shop.

Strategy to obtain 34 Star Coins
Getting these will allow you to buy the harvester coupon, power feed and stars in the event shop.

    NOTES:
    - using only 1 event crop (glowberry)
    - keep milling to minimum
    - obtain 2 star coins per round
    - given requirements are per round, there are 7 double rounds!

    Round 1 and 11
    4-8-12-16

    5 apples
    40 flasks
    1 roaster
    600 glowberries

    Round 2 and 12
    1-6-11-16

    2*40 tents
    5 walnuts
    1backpack
    --- glowberries

    Round 3 and 13
    2-6-10-14

    40 flasks
    50 rhubarb
    2*600 glowberries

    Round 4 and 14
    5-6-7-8

    40 tents
    40 flasks
    1 hydrant
    600 glowberries

    Round 5 and 15
    13-14-15-16

    1 backpack
    40 flasks
    5 pears
    600 glowberries

    Round 6 and 16
    1-2-3-4

    40 flasks
    40 tents
    1 speckled goat
    600 glowberries

    Round 7 and 17
    1-6-11-16

    1 backpack
    40 flasks
    40 tents
    1 duck
    --- glowberries

    Round 8
    5-6-7-8

    40 tents
    40 flasks
    2*600 glowberries

    Round 9
    1-2-3-4 or 4-7-10-13

    1 backpack (#1) or 5 angel trumpets (#7)
    40 tents
    40 flasks
    600 glowberries

    Round 10
    1-2-3-4 or 2-6-10-14

    1 backpack (#4) or 1 sheep wool (#6)
    40 flasks
    40 tents
    600 glowberries

    Totals for 17 rounds:
    17*600 glowberries = 10200 glowberries
MILL: 6 backpack and 5 angel trumpets and 1 sheep wool OR 8 backpack
(needing additional 6 or 8*20 flasks, 6 or 8*20 tents)
    15*40 flasks = 600 flasks + 120/160-mill
    13*40 tents = 520 tents + 120/160-mill
    10 apples
    10 walnuts
    10 pears
    100 rhubarb
    2 hydrant
    2 duck
    2 roaster
    2 speckled goat

Only want stars? .. do 4 rounds (1-4)
Only want the coupon? .. do 5 rounds (1-5)
    Only want PF? .. do 8 rounds (1-8 )
Or any combo .. tally the totals needed by yourself :)

60k crops and 2k drops in 6 days? plus a person having to work in RL. It sounded good at first but coffee told me that my strategy for this is to pass. I Remember the dismal drop rate from event crops. Where else is a person going to get drops from besides the event crop? you won't even have room for a chicken in there.
Good luck to those who go for it.

I may also sit this one out. We will be traveling Friday-Sun, over 1500 miles to drive. Since I can't play from the car, and some hotels have incredible slow internet, I may not even get on at least once a day.

    @12ss12 @illy1996

The total requirements you mention are needed to lit the WHOLE field. This can't be done as completing 1, 2 or 3 lines will get you star coins and you will move on to the next level.
Completing 1 line takes 4 lanterns (2 star coins), 2 lines takes 7 lanterns (4 star coins), 3 lines takes 10 lanterns (8 star coins) to lit.
So there's a max of 10 lanterns to lit per level, unless fooling around and doing additional lanterns for nothing but the reward. :)

Total requirements depend on the amount of star coins one wants to obtain AND the patern one wants to follow. Choices .. choices!

Yes, habalala. That's true. Since the pattern will be the player's choice and also the number of lanterns lit will also be his choice, the total requirement for the pattern can be calculated only by him. Illy has given the total requirement for each level taking into account all the lanterns as lit. If you have finished a combination, you can lit the other lanterns just to get the reward. So illy has calculated on the basis that a player would like to get rewards of all the 16 lanterns in all the 10 boards. Just to prevent confusion I have added clarification to my post No.1. Thanks for you additional reward strategy, if others are not possible, one can get just these rewards and walk away rich.

Thanks to all for your wonderful strategies. I am tired and going to bed. Hope I havw given all the details. But nothing is perfect....Good NIght.

hi, i am old 2011 player who recently started playing again as Leest, lv 76. Just to add my 2 cents worth, lol, my strategy would be to get the most points for the lowest amount of drops and try to keep both thermos and tent drop used evenly, as i think drops will be the most limiting factor to getting the most points. i have only considered first level as there are so many choices for each level. i would do the diagonal 4, 7, 10, 13 as 12ss12 and jools suggested and the top row, 1, 2, 3, 4 and the last column, 4, 8, 12, 16, leaving 4 to be finished last. This will give you 8 points for only 40 tents and 40 thermos. Of course for beginners this will be difficult because of the roaster chicken. Thanks to 12ss12 for starting thread and giving strategies. And thanks to all who have given strategies to this and other past events as they really helped me get back into the swing of the game as it has changed so much in 5 years. :)
