New Baby reindeer to my herd

You are pretty good at the sideways elbow crawl! Mom seems pretty comfortable with you there. Loki is quite cute and pretty adventurous!

I love the pics & video!!! Thanks!! Loki is a real cutie!!!! Hector is still my favorite...b/c he is such a character...but Oh MY, Lexi is gorgeous!!! The outline around her eyes....looks as though she is wearing eyeliner. Her adorable spots are very original...almost reminds me of a dalmation reindeer. LOL

 

Ana has calved about 3 hours ago..
It's a girl! Not quite as large as I thought from a distance, she weighs in at 4.58kg, 10lbs.

She is similar in colour to Lexi, the white markings on her head are different as she has more grey on foreface but a white forehead & white patch on pelvic pin bones. Like Lexi she also has a few spots on her body. Only a quick check on her as Ana wasn't happy.

I will be giving these two a bit of space for the first 24 hours unless I need to interfere.

 

Oh Great News Karen!!!! 2 boys & 2 girls!!!! Congratulations and good wishes for the newest baby!

 

Fingers crossed on the 24 hr countdown. (*whisper* Looks like you've had a great year this year.)

 

Cassi, 48 hours before my blood pressure returns to near normal. Hopefully the pounding in my head will stop and I can breathe again..

Today is Friday 13th... but I THINK it has been a good day for us.

The older babies.. their mothers seem happier for them to congregate.
And for Hector fans, he and Lotte seem very happy and are growing their "big people" antlers..
think Friday 13th is a good day for us!

Oh Happy Day! seeing the babies near each other and can't wait to see them at play! the new baby girl and fingers crossed for the next 48 hours, and glad Ana is doing well! Mr Hector and Lotte with their grown up antlers coming in Now Karen go and breathe!! lol All WILL be well!

Hi Hector & Lotte........it's been a while since we've seen you! So I guess they are teenagers now?

 

So glad to see Ana's pretty little girl - and the happy clan of little ones with their moms! Looking good for you Karen!

 

Ana's new baby is a bit of a worry, I am afraid, doesn't seem as strong as I would hope for... but I always panic for the first 48 hours... so maybe I just need to chill.
The others are doing really well. First pic, new baby (see the underside of her hoof tucked under chin, worryingly red at birth - maybe a premmie???), second Lexi, third Thor and 4th my seriously trusting mother with Loki...

 

Hmm, new babies hoof really is red!! I hope it is just nothing, but she looks ok to me Maybe she is just gathering up her strength after her delivery! Little Miss Lexi is going to give Hector a run for his money in the cuteness department! them all!

 

Do reindeer ever have light colored hooves?

 

Caviar, the pale coloured reindeer start with pale hooves but they darken to grey.

 

They are all so cute!
