Farm Arrangement during non-event time - Strategy.

    Hi !

Every time when an event is over I have a tough time in putting my pens/trees out again in the farm. I am getting e headache too. I do not know what to put out and what not to ? Any sugesstions for me and other players.

Right now I have rare animal pens which sell around 3000 CCs in the markets. Some hydrant, sawmill, ostrich egg pens, one truffle farm, koi pond so on. Prices of regular animals, especially those with neon upgrades have fallen very low. So I do not know whether to put out the neons and pinks of them.

What do you suggest ? I want to stock up my barn reasonably and also to earn some CCs reasonably.

Parrots, chickens and cuckoos are my everyday bread and butter, so I usually either have mostly those pens out or grow whatever is needed for their feed. Odds and ends like some rare pens or work shops here and there.

I'm working on building up my tree supply so I can fill at least one field (all regular kinds). Works well when you need a bit of break from farming while still being productive.

Currently also stocking up on ostriches, bees and fish and have been for a while (for next neon event, but if it's geese or donkeys I'm in trouble :p). Hoping to either be able to use all regular animals or take advantage of the market, depends on if we get another mill subscription event soon or not...

I suggest you put out Frogs and mill the feed too. :music:

Building stock takes a long time depending on what you want to have as a minimum.
The easiest ccs you can make is during a call when price skyrocket. If you have enough for your own use AND for selling then you can move faster building your stock because you will have more ccs to play with. Are you prepared for the next neon animal? Whatever it will be...

Producing animals I always try to use my colored pens only, because I get more animals from the one feed I use. The fact that the pens finish at different times can be disadvantageously to some. I am often around my farm so it doesn't matter to me. I also have the builder, so I can switch out pens easily according with rl.

You mention Neons and the decrease in price of those animals. Some of the neon animals I don't produce at all but some I do now and then. I never or very unusually produce Sheep, Goats and Ducks because I choose to buy them and produce other animals like the more expensive ones. What I produce is somewhat adjusted to my stock, the mkt prices and what is going on in the game - or what I think will come.

At the moment I have put out every Frog pen I have and all my colored pens of Ostriches, Beavers, Donkeys, Chameleons and Bats. They are all over my farm and mill is running Frog feed 24-7. That is all for future calls - one just around the corner.

    1. Some people change their farms and put out what is considered "money makers" at the time.

    2. Others will place pens/workshops on a rotating basis to keep a supply of animals/products in their inventory.

    3. I have been slowly building up my inventory by doing the following:
I placed them alphabetically with one space for each tree*, pen and workshop (the pens are alphabetical with the workshop next to it). If I do not have the workshop then I place two of the pens. If I do not have a pen and workshop or 2 pens then I place Jumbo trees or stables as a "place holder" in that spot. If I have 1 each of the pens and workshops but don't want to place them then I place a 2x2 field plot for crops (this way I can tell at a glance if I have the pen/workshop in inventory).
This way the Magical Glade and Green Meadow are used for animal pens and workshops with the trees planted around the outside edges. The Main Farm field is used for the remaining pens/workshops, room for eight 2x2 plots (32 rare trees) and then I use the little remaining area for crops or pens/workshops (depending on if I need more than 1 pen for a workshop on the other field or if I am working on a quest.)
*Exception to the Rule: Every farm needs a Christmas tree so my Christmas trees are not placed alphabetically; they are placed in front of the farm buildings on every field.

Baha is done in a similar manner:
Trees are alphabetical around the edges
A workshop and the required number of pens + 1 extra is then placed around the edges
The middle is used for crops

The Rainforest has the remaining alphabetical order trees around the outside edges:
Pens/workshops that are required for quests
The middle is used for trees

Maybe someone else has a 4th way of doing the farm

    Good Luck

Meba...why frogs? Do u think they are going to be part of the next breeding event?

12ss12...if u want to set them up similiar, I would suggest taking a screenshot of each field. I tend to not clear my stables and trees for an event. I have land to grow on. the magical glade stays intact. I hate having to figure out what to put back & where

Elimeno, Frogs will be used for the breeding event in June.

As for strategy, I typically grow crops. I have a spreadsheet which shows crops give the most CC's per time spent growing after all costs have been subtracted.

Thanks a lot to all of you. I learnt several new aspects from you strategies. Now I fell somewhat at ease. I will not be neglecting the lower level animals, if I am not putting them out. This was one aspect which kept on nagging my thoughts. I think I will put out the higher level animals as suggested by you. Frogs also. The alphabetical suggestion & photo shot are new suggestion to me. Good ones too. Never thought about that. Will try that out too one by one and when I have a perfect or correct setting up of my farm, I will take a screen shot.

The next breeding event would be a general breeding event. They say it requires chicken, rabbit, pig & sheep. You have to do the breeding yourself as you get a toy out of each breeding and you need them for the Event requirements. After this comes the frog breeding. The are rumours. So we have to wait for confirmations.

what is the obsession with making CCs?
I grow whatever I need for event crops of quests. I may buy some things for events at market to free up field to grow "junks" and sell surplus when demand is high. Other than that and trading up the odd breeding animal, when the next animal up is considerably less than 4 of the lower one
I don't see the point of making vast amounts of CCs, as long as I have enough to buy what I need when I need it, anything over that is just wasted time.

well, Jools, for me, I need to make CC's to get something that I need. I do the same for most events...as long as I have the CC's I will buy the items...esp when we get the info early

Wasted time, below your sites....As line in Beetlejuice went, "Death is different for everyone" what you are into and what they are into, what I want will not be what the other farmer wants....

We are all adults/kids playing a farming game, get it? just think what an active rock climber thinks of people "playing" a game where we want stalls of dogs and places as an island on a farm.

Magic is for all, Happy's can be shared. I choose to collect CC's and stickers and share Happy's, try it, it better then "My grandma set your flag on fire"

After :inlove: Bat :inlove: needs, I do the bottom and work up. What ever I am the lowest in I make, if things come up I do base things if in a space,I hit stocking not so fresh items, no big call no big need things.
It works, I have not been stocking long but I am ok at it.

I start with putting out 1 of everything. I begin with my green meadow (initially, it was so I did not have demolish it during MM events, now its just habit). I just go down my list and put out every pen, except those that have feed that costs more than the animal or otherwise is "too expensive" for me. I then fill in with 1 of each tree.

At this point, I no longer have room in the green meadow for all my pens, so I continue placing one of each in the main field. Next I prioritize. Usually I will go a round or two of whatever crop I need, until my CAC is "finished", but if there is an upcoming event needing a particular animal or such, I may switch to that. If nothing is urgently pending, then I will put out workshops & pens that either provide a high profit (varies a lot) or that I need for a quest. My last priority is building up a general stock, though there can be exceptions. (particularly if I have drained my barn at some point).

On Baha, I do similar. When I just had one field, I would put out 2-3 of each pen, then fill around with trees. Now I tend to fill up the rainforest with pens and trees, then grow crops and trees of which I am in need.

In the rainforest I keep my upgraded workshops and stables, the rest is filled with trees. This I almost never take down (last time was in September), I just replace trees when I get better ones.

In the magical glade I have my best trees and stables. Jumbo trees, orange jumbo stables, neon rabbit stables, pink workshops and a few other. Best trees along the edges. This I only take down for very hard or very rewarding events.

I like growing crops more than raising animals, so the three remaining fields are devoted to crops most of the time, or parrot & chicken farming. On baha I also keep the new rare stables and the new trees around the edges.

Ideally I like everything in a field to finish at the same time, so woody's setup would drive me crazy. I have managed to fill my park&shipwreck with 8-10 hour items harvested twice a day. The pens in the rainforest are also harvested twice a day. So that only leaves 4 fields to check on more often, which suits me very well :)

Yeah, I don't worry about harvesting constantly. My setup is not the best for maximizing EP or products of any type. Its sort of a cheap compromise, to allow me to have some of everything whenever I need and to just enjoying all the different items. I get a constant stream of everything, including EP/TEP, which builds in time. At this point, the only real rush to go higher is to get laurel so I can mill feed for kiwis. Nothing else is really out there, other than my own artificial goals, so a stead pace is OK for me.

I like cc's for a few reasons....1st to fill FHO's. I can't possibly grow enough crops, animals, products & trees to keep up with all the orders I choose to fill...so to balance it out, I like to find bargains in the market.:p
Another reason for cc's is to buy colored animals or products to use for recipes. This allows me to finish breeding quests much quicker. Otherwise, it would take me years to finish. :wuerg:

One of my constant goals, in this fun game.....is to keep a moderate to high level of everything offered to produce in the game. If I notice I'm getting low(or below my comfort level) of a certain item like goat's milk....I put out about 4 of those trees. I leave them in until they have produced enough to reach my goal. This way, I'm always prepared for an event that requires anything that we grow. And if I have extra....I take advantage of the higher market and sell them for extra cc's. :music:;)
This is why I don't mind tearing up my farm for events.:) It forces me to re-evaluate my levels and adjust to grow what I'm falling behind in.

I too tried putting out one of everything...just not enough space anymore for my needs. So I've been doing the same as mingling. I pulled up my barn inventory by amount, scrolled to the bottom, and started placing animal pens with the lowest stock. I place them alphabetically around the edge of each farm. This is so when an animal stock level rises high enough I can find them easily all together to remove them, then move the remaining pens around as needed to accommodate the new pens coming in.

Surprisingly it's been working pretty well. One field has all my pinks and neons around the edges, which is pretty much the basic animals with a chameleon pens. And of course trees alphabetically around the edges, with as many as I have of a tree with a low inventory amount.

Once the inventory numbers are higher, I will move into placing workshops with pens as mentioned by others above. It's just right now for me I want more animals in my barn.

I also try not to remove them during events. But the jury is still out on that one...not sure the remaining spaces will be enough. Time will tell.
