Strategy - Jumbo Stables

I've been wondering for quite some time how everyone is handling their Jumbo Stables.

* do you keep them out? If so, are they worth it do you think. Why?

*do you put them out in preparation for an Event. When?

*or are you like me: keep them in the locker forever. What?

I would love to find a use for these precious stables.

 

I have only one jumbo stable and it offers a halfinger (horse). I keep it out more or less all the time, because I like to have one of each pen that I have out. I used to occasionally sell them, but now, with more events requiring various breeding animals, am mostly hanging on to my stock.

Aside from that "collector" value, the value depends. If you are working on any quest that uses the animals, it is easier/cheaper to raise them through the jumbo pens than to breed them. Other than that, you would have to look at the price. It may be cheaper to just raise the base animal (and buy the breed animal), or to raise other things entirely. Then again, some people just don't like animal pens and prefer to do mostly crops. That is just a matter of opinion.

As for getting rid of them... I think they are excluded from G & T, but if they ever become available.. I would love to trade for other pens!

 

I have my Orange Jumbo Horse stable out all the time. It gives Shetland ponies. It is sentimental only. As it is a familiar story to many, I won't retell it. It was very helpful when we had the breeding event for the Neon stables as I had level 2 animals in stock. Same with the regular Jumbos that give Haflinger. The jumbo pens that give brown pigs have not been an economically good strategy as brown pigs are not very expensive as many of them come from the clouds and I can use that same pen space to generate a better return. For those farmers who don't use the market much, they can be useful to get level 1 and 2 breeding animals saving power feed if they are willing to wait the long times to harvest.

I actually like them and do think they have a limited purpose, but I know many players don't use them . If they ever were included in Gift and Trade, I would try to get another Orange Jumbo Horse both for this farm and for my 2nd.

 

Should I somehow "acquire" a JUMBO stable.....I will come back here to read the opinions of those that have them!!

I agree with pnp - they do have some use if they are the upgrades - especially the orange ones. They give you third level animals, a definite plus! I only have one orange and it is out now, but when the animals are called for - out come the yellows (halflingers), too. I hope one day they are tradeable as I'd love to have more upgraded ones!
As for the regular ones - for the same space - a pink will give you 3 animals. (3 to 1 odds make them not very practical...and a neon will give you 4.)

 

I hate to admit it ....but I don't ever put them out. It's probably b/c they take so long to harvest.

 

a few at the moment are on the field but it depends with for me how much i have on stock
if gets low i put them out

I have the Jumbo Stables (and Jumbo Trees) out all the time - no particular reason other than they make a good stock of breeding animals and that can only be a good thing. Jumbo Trees I put out for the EP, Supergrow, Suzi's and Mulch (the latter mainly to speed up the other Jumbo Trees). Each time we need these particular breeding animals for an event, I think, wow, where did I get all those! They are one of the things I keep on my Glade which I rarely change. It has mainly rarer trees, pink stables, neon stables and jumbos. I have to check it every now and then as the "rare" trees tend to become not so rare and I need to exchange them for something rarer - if I have something to replace them with lol!

I had no idea that the Jumbos came in Orange. I have 6 Jumbo Pigs, 4 Jumbo Horses and 2 Jumbo Goats all with a Yellow uprgrade. I also have one renegade Yellow Upgrade for a Jumbo Goat that does not have the initial Jumbo Goat to use it (I must have traded it by accident) I should put them out, its just like so many have mentioned, they take so long. It seems I use my powerfeeds to speed up their harvesting times, when I do put them out. It makes sense since I have them to keep them out, I really should get them out now. When I look at the resale value of each breeding animal produced, it seems I make more selling even the simple Fox or Moose than I do the animals from each of the Jumbo pens.

So are the Jumbo trees XXL trees? or is there yet another upgrade beyond the XXL trees that supersize the XXL becoming Jumbo?

 

I threw most of my jumbos back on the train leaving me with just 1 orange of each animal. I put them out every now and again, but not that regularly - they came in handy for this event though since I'd had them out for about a month.

 

I wish you could G&T them. I would like a jumbo
and I am sure other newer players would too..

You've made me dust off 2 orange Jumbos (goat and horse) and place them in a far corner of my Glade. Only when getting them out I realized another reason why they have been hidden away for so long; by golly - they must be the unsightliest stables there are.

Cylent - whenever the Jumbos are tradeable I've got a horse stable with your name on it, and the same for you 007

 

I agree with them being ugly. I've got 5 goats (1 or + 4 yel) 1 orange pig, but somehow have 3 yellow horses but only 1 base. No idea how that could have happened as I thought they only came from the train
I've finished the goat and pig breeding quests, but a few more coloured horses would still be nice.
Unless they make them tradeable or bring them back on the train or wonder stables 2 more base horses seems unlikely

 

I have only one jumbo goat stable so I have it in my Glade all the time. A few times I take it out because of the events.
I want to have it placed because I don't breed much but when I do for the events it's good to have a big amount of speckled goats so I won't use my regulars.
