I just wanted to take a moment and thank all the veterans in the farmerama community.
    Thank you for your courage.
    Thank you for our freedom.
Thank you for risking your lives.
    Thank you, thank you~

And in the words of Lee Greenwood:
And I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

You are absolutely right habalala! What was I thinking? It was so early in the morning for me, I appreciated the sentiments, and my posting to this thread about Memorial Day was too deep for this forum. I did initially copy and paste my posting reply to my facebook page and its up to 311 likes :) but its not right for me to give historical reference or personal feelings about Memorial Day on a game forum. So I have deleted my posting here.

Yes, habalalala- you are so right!
In gabfest its much more proper to talk about reindeer and Eurovision and the weather
than to remember the men who died fighting for our freedom.
What in the world was I thinking?
This will be my LAST post ever~
Sheesh, one TRIES to do the right thing and you just get kicked in the you know what.
    Thanks habablahblahblah

    Dear ummm hurt feeling CylentLea,
I think Habalala's response was directed toward me, not you. Some times we forget how earnest emotions do not convey in words, I am sure Habalala never meant you harm. Sorry you are finding your posting to be anything more than what it is, a wonderful viewpoint for a day that and has always been sorely needed.

and p.s. Habalala you were right, I was too deep. I took no offense, I realized the error of my ways.
p.p.s and now I am second guessing myself, thinking I should delete this posting, concerned CylentLea you might take this one the wrong way. Now I am conflicted..sorry if this too upsets you. I mean no one any harm. Have a lovely day~

@BeingStella I found your post interesting; it saved me googling what Memorial Day was for (being in the UK and all).
@CylentLea123 your post is a wonderful reminder to all about the brave men and women out there, both past and present who are serving their country.

@TCRooster Thanks for noticing, I had made sure I put historical reference so that non-American forum members would understand Memorial Day. Also, did you know that something like 2% of Americas population were killed during the Civil War which lasted 4 years. If this war happened today that would be the equivelant to 7 million in just 4 years! It is still the bloodiest war to date, for the American people.

Thanks for understanding Stella. I really appreciate your response and act. *hug*
There was NO error of whatsoever from you. Expressing thoughts and feelings is fine. I made my post in the hope you just didn't get carried away in false sentiments IMHO, also knowing I'm not the human being to judge about anyone's post anytime in any way. So I kept my comment short.. very short :)

CylentLea, and everyone else who reads this, should listen to the lyrics John Lennon wrote about wars/fights and the world we live in. The song is called Imagine. Today, right now, is a perfect moment to do so.

.. act like it and we all may live life in peace.

You are only able to freely express your idea's because men and women laid down their lives for this privilege.
Memorial Day is that day where we thank those people, here in the USA.

@meba091 here is her posting. I am friends with her on her facebook page. This had a pic of a starr revolver that her grandpa carried too. I thought it was a great posting, still dont see why she erased it. Before today I didnt really know why memorial day was and didnt even know what a starr revolver was neither.
her facebook page has over 600 likes for this posting ..justsaying and i got the part about Thanks seeming really not to be enough ..not that saying thanks was bad, I think she ment thanks was really never enough, atleast that my take on it after reading it.

It is touching to think that Memorial Day was initiated as a day to remember those soldiers who lost their lives while fighting during the American Civil War. It was a natural response in 1868 with so many citizens mourning their loved ones. At a time when a Nation suffered and so many experienced the war first hand, a day each year was needed. The living were dealing with what had happened, a Nation was rebuilding and trying to find its place after a brutal war. For many the loss of countless number of family members, friends and neighbors over shadowed so much of the living, having a day each year to pause for a time allowed for healing, and prayer. It continued to be a day of memorial becoming a remedy to all to aid mending so many broken hearts.
Now it serves as a day to remember those who lost their lives fighting in all the Wars, for all of those American soldiers that sacrificed their life as a service to the American People and its Allies. It reminds us all of so many precious lives lost while in service to our Country.
I am reminded each year of my Great Great Great Grandfather who at the age of 39 lost his life while serving as a wagoneer in the Pennsylvania 14th Calvary company C. He fought in 17 battles and was captured by Confederate soldiers and suffered greatly in the notorious Andersonville Prison for 5 months. He died just 7 months before the end of the Civil War. A war that changed my Country forever. Saying thank you would not be fitting for such a sacrifice, for his or all the men and women that bravely served their Country with their lives.
Having a day set aside each year does help to remind me to remind my family and others that are the sum of his deeds, to remember his contribution for our future. In a small way, Memorial Day is still doing what it initially was set up to do. I am glad I am still here to share in his time and loss. Robert P. Thatcher born 1824 died 1864~may he rest in peace, and his life be remembered.

1st you have no idea how hard this was to get on and stay on teck. issues.

But I for one see it as a small thing to go threw for this.
    Cylentlwa123, FREEDOM is worth it.

Stick to your guns. Never let anyone for any reason take your happy.
You have something to share do it, others don't like it, don't share in the happy, move along.

All countries honor past, present and what is to come in all types of ways, and most respect that, not a thing you do? at least note it's a happy of someone else. Respect it.

Never step aside, never let the venom of such touch you.

It will be a bear to post this, I will freeze up when I hit post, well worth the issues to come to say never let it tarnish you.
