Inez is a pure bred black lab. She is with me from Guiding Eyes for the Blind. She is a breed evaluation.
The other two are beagle mixes. There may have some Coon-Hound in them

    8) Yes, elimeno - can see them now!! :inlove: So sweet, so cute/funny...Chloe Bear is sticking her tongue out....is she trying to say she doesn't want her picture taken when she's resting?! :music::D
Does "breed evaluation" mean you are testing/training Inez as a Guiding Eyes dog??

HI BeingStella...the only one who will get the tennis ball will be Inez...the other 2 look at her like she is on an acid trip. She is so huge compared to them and LOVES to play. The Girls are 7---sisters from the same litter, Daisy actually has an identical twin and then there is chloe---they dont play...they lounge.

Farmlily3: breed evaluation is where they are considering her for breeding "the future of guiding eyes for the blind". when a litter is born they look for the cream of the crop...however, she comes from a litter of 9 & 7 so far have been released from the program from guide dogs or to help children with autism. There are certain traits they look for and those 7 didnt have them. Those 7 have the option of being adopted by their "puppy raisers". Those are the people who keep them, like u or i, raise and train them from 12 weeks to about 16 months.

So she has 2 more siblings in the field being trained. They watch how her siblings perform to determine if this is a line (mother & father) they want to breed again. Most likely they wont breed these 2 (mom and dad) again. The mother has had other litters since and they have all been great...the father has not been breed again...So if Inez doesnt make it...the option goes to the person who raised her 1st...so they would take her from me and give her to her if she wanted Inez . Then I have 2nd choice if she declines.

They tell u not to get attached...all of us know that is impossible. If it doesnt work out...they give me another dog-.- Sorry that was so lengthy....BTW....I am already attached. The day I looked into those nutty browns...she has been my brown eyed girl:inlove:

    8) elimeno, that "lengthy" was just right, and very interesting! Is the person who raises them 'first' not allowed to finish their training?? That is heartbreaking to think of giving them up...but if they actually go to someone who Needs them....that is very worthwhile!:inlove: I admire what you do!:):)

What a very admirable purpose you are serving to those with seeing deficites and other challenges. What a great venue for these canines Elimeno! How wonderful! You are a true steward at heart, not only to these dogs but your example serves as a reminder to us all that doing something meaningful is what life is all about. Good luck with your dogs in training, I hope you do get to reclaim your friend Inez!

The fur babies are all so lovely. They have a way to capture everyone's hearts and it is never tiring to look at their pictures.

Here is a picture of the only fur baby in my life currently, Timmy, he is 8 years old.

    Timmy looks like a puppy

Farmlily3---a puppy raiser raises them until they go into formal training or become a breed eval. So around 16 months the dogs are tested again for temperament etc. Then they are sent into formal training to be a Guide dog for the blind. If they can continue they are then paired with the blind person who will become their companion. The dogs are mostly labs and some German Shepards. The Shepards can become guide dogs or they may go into law enforcement. The dogs that are worthy for breeding will breed. They stay with you; the breeding dogs. they go to the facility to give birth and u can visit everyday...well i am sure they prefer once a week but once your dog is retired from breeding u get to keep her. Females are breed about 3-4 times.

Inez's future is still unknown...so while she is here we are enjoying her...but the pics below...thats the true Inez

I would appreciate prayers for Timmy. He has had some unexplained bleeding and is undergoing investigations. His USG is tomorrow and hopefully, we will know better about the issue after that, hopefully.
