Comfort Field vs Normal Plot

Hey can someone run me down whether it is more worthwhile to plant my event crops on comfort field or normal plot. I usually am able to login 14 hours after the last session.

I know it takes 3 crops to plant on comfort field and it gives you 3x the harvest. I don't mind spending money watering them but not manure (way too expensive). I don't know how the calculations work so can someone kindly explain which one would be more worthwhile if you were in my shoes.

Typically speaking, normal fields are better, while comfort fields have their benefits.

Normal Fields = 1x Growth Time, 1x Yield, 1x EP
Comfort Fields = 4x Growth Time, 3x Yield, 2x EP

You get three times the amount in quantity for four times as long to grow but you get double the EP. Not exactly the best bet when you're trying to grow crops fast. Comfort fields do have benefits. Such as extending crops around your busy RL schedule. Not everyone can check the game every 4-6 hours to harvest and re-plant. Meaning Comfort Fields could very well work to keep productivity up during that same time. Instead of getting only one harvest while being gone at work or away, someone would be able to get three harvests worth of crops.

FYI: A comfort field only takes 1 water and 1 manure even though it requires 3 seed. Using SSG on a comfort field gives +4 not the +2 you get with a regular 2x2 field.

 

With CAC running and suzy you get 21 seeds back. The 6hr crop can be put into comfort field and be ready for harvest in under 4 hours if you also run white innocence and fruitcake.
The 4 hr crop with water and CAC takes just over 12 hrs (I used manure to get to 11.5hrs) and you get 17 seeds back. I also find that if you're only planting event crops then drops are better this way as there is less wasted time on the field.

 

One note... one of the benefits of comfort fields, and (I believe) the reason they are called "comfort" fields is that because the harvest time is longer, they don't show weeds as quickly (premium members of course don't get weeds). For us "oldies", that is not such a big deal... our crops take a long time to mature, but for newer players, who might not be able to log in strictly ever 24 hours, it can be a saver.

 

You are right woody. Comfort fields get 48 hours after ready to harvest before turning to weeds. Regular only get 24 hours.
