Once Upon a Lilypad

I've sold off 1/2 my stock and have 127 pens growing. Prices are crazy and they are selling as fast as they are listed.
I'm trying to save back enough for breeding but those prices are soooo tempting.

I fully loaded the breeding pen up before I sold of the rest of my inventory. I knew I'd have enough frogs since I'm still making them currently in full force (128 yellow pens). I'm actually hoping I have enough skips on this first wave of breeding to complete the first 8 steps. After that I'll probably just keep selling frogs. The extra 23 stars would be nice, as it would put me over 1000, but it's not needed.

 

I can't even get past level 5.
I knew I should have rare more frogs before this event. I thought having 130 frogs would be pretty sufficient.

With the crazy prices in the market currently, I'm hoping the skip breeding god will spare some mercy on me. Alternatively, I'll wait for the market to settle down and the prices to fall later on.

BBD can't even come soon enough.

 

FarmerDelight, if you can afford it, buy as many pens as you can and get them going (don't forget feed needs too). Using cheese balls and valentine's pot buffs will lower production time (plus animal CRs if you have them), and Baby Boom lasts thru Sunday, so you have lots of time to take advantage of it. If you need to mill feed, try a smaller batch first, enough to feed all your frog pens once, maybe twice, then maybe do batches of 100, which should take just over 10 hours, less if you have the mill subscription and mill CR.

@Decree, totally agree, just 38 long minutes left! Don't forget to refresh game before harvest for BBD, everyone! And activate pink jelly and CR buffs!

 

Thanks guys for the advice and encouragement, I've bought a couple more frog ponds. Just waiting for power feed to be done milling and I'll mass produce frog feed.

 

Produce feed in lots of 128 (or whatever the exact amount of pens you have out). This will ensure you're not waiting too long for feed.

 

2 minutes...I feel the need...the need to speed breed!

100 breedings, best skip was 1 zebra frog, also got 4 flying frogs and 143 dart frogs, plus aquamarine frogs. On level 11, CR up and running, just sold 200 frogs for over 30K, 89 left to breed. Very profitable event.

 

Results from 528 Frogs in Breeding Pen during BBD:

192 Frogs
154 Dart Frogs
33 Aquamarine Frogs
7 Flying Frogs
1 Gentleman Frog

All 8 stages I wanted to complete have been completed. I'm up another 50+ million CC and still have 200+ frogs left over. No clue what to do now.

 

Just got 2 Gentleman frogs on bearbabe, along with 2 zebras. woo hoo!

Congrats, Decree! You can send those 200 frogs my way if you want, I know just what to do with them.

 

I have all but last 3 gifts so I'm doing pretty good and didn't do so hot on skips on this farm but on my other farm I got a frog prince and a gentleman frog on my way to getting a pink frog pen yay!!!!!

Thanks to a little breeding ahead of the event I completed 14 out of 17 steps already. Will BB breed for awhile now and see what it gives to complete the remaining pads. I just don't want to spoil my glass and prince froggy yet!

 

FarmerDelight, I am in the same boat as you!!
I just did some farmer society quests in town and earned a nice amount of PF, which is where I thought my issues were going to fall. However, turns out the frogs are the problem for me. I went and bought enough to put one whole field in lastnight before logging off and come to realize I did not have the eggs to produce feed, nor the funds to buy them anymore (silly me)!!
Here is what I did... I put what I could afford to up for sale and was able to purchase small amounts of those eggs here and there then milled what feed I could, Just kept repeating that process until I had a fair amount of feed on stock.
I know, it seemed like a slow and daunting process but I am now able to feed my whole field of frogs!!!
I definitely wont have enough to finish or even come close to completing, but I've found that I can now dabble a little with it and maybe earn a few nice prizes, where as earlier I thought it way out of my league!!!
If anything, I am able to get my hands a little wet and learn a thing or two along the way

I've finished all but the last 2 steps, will try to buy what I need for them, and continue selling frogs now as I produce them. Best skip of the day was phantom ostrich from regular, everything else blah.

 

CandyDandy PF is a good alternative to normal frog feed if you're running out of eggs I know I'm kinda stating the obvious here but PF cuts the production time by half which means you can have 2 frogs now. So if you want to play the economy game, produce 2 frogs, sell 1 and buy loads of eggs from your profit and make more normal feed. So you can trade 2 PF for around 30 feed. Rinse and repeat.

According to my amateur knowledge in economics, the market for frogs and its subsequent materials (eggs and feed) will crumple like a house of cards after the 4th day of the event since the most active players would be done with their quests. With over supply of frogs, you'll see the price fall in no time. Let's just play the patience game.

 

I have finished the first seven steps and sold all my basic Frogs. Think I will stop while I am ahead.
