There is no guarantee that what has been an annual event will occur this year. Some around the world are preparing for it. With perhaps less than six months to complete preparations on my farm, I am wondering what strategies others may use. If shared I would like to openly consider them and perhaps change my own.

There is a quite different strategy being used by many and for many it is no secret. There was an event where a monkey queen threw out golden bananas from a float. The number of golden bananas was sufficient enough to allow many to unlock high EV tree fruit which can be grown on BAHA and the rain forest. The trees are expensive and the tree fruit produced has very limited use to date. So growing will enable some to be more competitive if indeed tree fruit is allowed to be donated in the final competition. Again, this is not a secret to many who are preparing or have prepared in the past,. Add the use of buffs to this tree fruit growth action and even though expensive, the strategy is being used.

Also, maple sap is being grown on the mainland along with tree fruit on BAHA and the rain forest. Growing and market purchasing is being done.

If you plan to compete then how is your farm shaping up and do you have any strategy suggestions or changes in strategy that will be made?

I do not know what strategy to offer as I have none. I will just sit and watch the excitement. All the best to you. Which farm is going to participate?

    Hi Broke.

As we have an Hoedown Event Every Year. Where we need to Donates Millions or Even Billions worth of Barn Stock. But Current Market Prices of Fruits and Crops as Risen Quiet Sharply Compared to Market Prices Last Year.

In Terms of Donations of Exchange Values of Fruits, Crops Etc. It would be a FACT that this Year Hoedown is going to be Extremely Expensive Barn Draining Event.

I am going to predict this Event might have much less participations for this Event. As we are finding Harder to Stock up High Exchange Value of Barn Stocks. On Basis of lessor Larger quantities to snap up in the markets. Hence Bulk Selling !!. Farmers are finding it harder to Stock up certain items. Or not got the CC to do serious Buying of High Exchange Value of Barn Stocks, due to Inflated Market Prices.

If Compared Market Prices on Certain Items have in Fact Doubled or Even Tripled in CC Prices what we currently seeing in our Markets. Which also indicate there is less stuff in circulation of Market Stocks. Hence Price Increase on Basis of Shortage of Farmer Producers due to Shortage of Land to Grow Things.

Wheather if anyone have notice the regular occurrence of Events every Month. Which have been pretty hard events to complete. Many Farmers not having Much Time to be able to Restock Their Barns In between Events.

Last Year is was quiet hard to Earn Any GB to unlock Acai, Pitomba and Goji Trees but can unlock these using BB but for Other Baha Trees such as Mate,Persimmon, Pandanus Fruit,Sea Grape, Moringa Trees needed GB to unlock these Trees. But Pitomba and Goji are still the Best Exchange Value Fruits Trees in the Market.

But All Baha Trees are Expensive to Buy but they are best Exchange Value Churning Fruit mechanism especially with use of PAC (Pineapple Cake Gives +1 on all Baha Fruits) Most of the Time i do Reap Baha Fruits as Baha Animals and most crops not sell well in my Markets !!

Thanks to generosity of Monkey Queen I have unlock at Baha Trees. But Stocking up on Fruits by Markets or Grow from Trees :p

    xD Participate xD You funny.:p

My HH goal is to be able to make CC rain down like deliverance from the monkey goddess envious 3rd sister.

I have a number, based on what makes me grin in glee x's 3 8)
If I can sell that much, I can say I am seeing way in the distance the path to gett'in it done.

    That's my game plan.

Broke, I am looking at HH 2017 as a possibility.

This gives me nearly a year and a half to quietly and slowly accumulate stock. And because I dont do it the "smart" way. I need that time to get to at least the entry level amounts of stock required to participate.

But I will be watching on as you provide information/strategy and updates on how to go about it and on amounts required.

Me too FionaSky. I am aiming for my baby farm to be in that list! Ditto doing the not so smart route. Can't do strategy, just blunder on and hope for the best.

In the end I will add up what I have in my barn and see if it is worth entering. I don't even have all fields open yet (and no intention to for the moment) but have filled all fields with trees - oh apart from a field of frogs cos I want to participate in breeding events only on that farm. Got too much to try to do events on three farms lol! Not exactly all the clicking, just got confused which farm was where and what I needed for each one! :wuerg:

Really don't want to empty either of my other barns ... but I could be tempted! :inlove:

Don't think i could empty my barn ...i would be in a big panic if i did xD
Think the biggest part of my Inventory is tree fruit ....most of that is in thousands
other things need stocking up badly

broke - my strategies reflect what you describe in your opening post. Some of it grown and I peruse the market in the morning and evening looking for items in my budget. Some days there is nothing I buy as my market goes above the price I have set to pay. Other days I have better results. My farm is not as far along as others I know who are preparing but I am acquiring items at a steady pace and am generally pleased. If the next few months continue, I may be in a good position to go to HH without burning the barn. I will not be in the top 10 as you were last years, but that still leaves 990 spots!xD This year my goal will not be to place in the top 500, but still aiming to place.:) If I don't feel prepared this year, I will attempt next year. :)

Broke, your posts inspired me to enter this years harvest hoedown. I have amassed almost 2 billion in tree fruit, crops, and products. I never have inventoried my animals or breeding animals. Since BP changed the font I have decided to leave the game as I cannot read the time left on my crops or animal stalls thus causing me to have watering eyes and headaches. I cannot decide if I want to sell my inventory off or let it just disappear as it will take a lot of time to list it thus causing more stress on my eyes. I truly wish the best for everyone going this year.

    8) Well said, PnP, and I echo your sentiments.....so very sorry you might be leaving us, makeating!
Perhaps if you just take a Vacation instead, BP might listen to all the complaints and change the font back?? You have such a g-r-e-a-t farm, it would be sad to leave it, and your friends on the forum.:(

Thank you for letting us know how you feel.

I'm happy you found inspiration in our group and sincerely hope you enjoyed developing your farm.

Certainly our moderators are well aware of the font change concerns of many. They will pass the concerns to those making decisions. Perhaps there will even be a workable solution. Please take a little break from the game and give them time before quitting the game entirely.

For many days I have not quite known how to respond as I felt sad reading your post. I think everyone working on the event can learn something really important from you. I am very very very happy to see you are doing what is best for you. Everyone working on the event should be reminded to do the same regardless of their stage of preparation.

Please try and return to let us know how you are doing. You will not be forgotten. You are already TOP 1000 with us.

makeating69, I have drooled over your farm for awhile now, and all I can say is my font went wacky I wrote it off as another issue logged off on cleared yaddy, yaddy, then one day all went back to normal font, please take just a break give them a chance to see that font is not a good thing.
Your hard work is nothing to toss without a little hope.

I love your comments and can only smile. I'm finding that thoughts such as yours entered into the minds of those who competed in the past.

FionaSky, most are unintentionally quiet while preparing. There are good people around who will share their experiences and cheer you on if you allow them to.

Illy, your baby farm will indeed develop a strategy if you decide to compete. You will not be able to help it. Surely you have set goals for it. This event is just another one with higher expectations and preparedness. Your way is the best for you.

Julie maybe you will be ready for the year 2020, up to you. Even the first thoughts of such an event seem funny after a while. Others preparing now know how you must feel and find happiness in your words.

This farm is making a few changes and will prepare to enter and to survive well afterward. At this moment I do not take the event seriously and that leads to future troubles with the farm.

I want to send a baby farm that is still in the mentors nest and only farms BAHA so it will not get ep. But I do not check it regularly and it will most likely not be prepared this year. Before entering the final competition, every farm should consider the likelihood of success. Inner strength is required for a farm to prepare and not go.

I would probably find much more joy in cheering others on.
There are quiet a few changes in the game. I agree with you and will take the chance of predicting a minimum stock to have ready to donate beyond that of the initial event. Not yet though.
If growing, the cost of the BAHA trees should be considered with high EV BAHA tree fruit. That same investment in BAHA trees may be put to a better investment also if one can see it and time the payoff correctly. I will not pay any greater price per unit of EV for high EV tree fruit than I will for any other tree fruit which has a possibility of donation. Parrot feather is the only reasonably priced product which may be eligible for donation at this time.

That you can make someone smile is always a good thing.

I dont think about the game in the same way others do, so I always tend to be playing catch up, (as frog event will show). And perhaps need to read and act on the information that is generously shared here in a more timely manner.

Regardless of what some may say, Broke, I find most of your posts interesting and they give me cause to think. And i appreciate yours and others insights, even if i never seem to take full advantage of them.

IF and I stress if, I were to enter HH, it will be when i am confident that doing so will not negatively impact my game play. As I dont keep vast amounts of either stock or ccs, going to zero on either probably wouldnt be the end of the world. But I would want to do it safe in the knowledge that it was actually going to end with a result. To deposit many multi -millions worth of barn stock only to wind up 1002 on the list does not appeal.

And while the value of the prize probably will never compensation for the amount of stock forfeited, im sure that there is a sense of accomplishment in achieving it.

And yes this is a supportive and encouraging community and value this support and advice that is so generously and kindly offered.

Always happy to make you smile FB. ;)

Have been considering entering all three farms in one way or another but it all depends what I have in stock at the time. I have reached my personal targets on both of my main farms for Baha trees and animals so am now just producing more and more animals in the hope that I will be in with a chance. We shall see ... :music:

And hey, I just posted for the first time with my baby farm! :D

Congratulations to those continuing to produce and/or acquire tree fruit in anticipation of using it to compete in the TOP 1000 competition. Your farms are more than half way there now. Surely your eyes have been opened to many aspects of the game now. Recently discipline was required in order to to sell your tree fruit and to hold. Some farms did not and are determining that their farms no longer have much hope of being competitive. And that decision is okay with us as long as they are happy.

For those continuing on though, one is able to clearly see now how a sudden market change can tempt one into profit-taking especially if one was acquiring tree fruit across the board simply based on a market price to EV ratio.

Please do not panic and be so quick to change whatever strategy you have chosen. You have done well by even having a strategy. What you have experienced in particular is not at all unique as all of us in the game have also had to reevaluate goals. Heyyyyy, by now the serious competitors do this anyway and routinely. Sure you will make foolish moves but just try not to make too many of them while keeping in mind your goal.

We have covered most of the areas were items are necessary. However, there are two areas where this farm will prepare for and simply to have a well-rounded and competitive farm.
    1. Some minimum level of pf will be held and not used for other events or other breeding objectives. (Breeding could be a prerequisite to even competing in the TOP 1000. This has not been true in the past.)
    2. Some amount of craft supplies (sugar, salt ...) on hand and ready to use in milling the base craft products. The base products are the only craft products with an EV and they CANNOT be sold/purchased. This act by BP has never been done in the past but the day of reckoning is coming and many refuse to believe it until their farms are forced to purchase the sugar or salt or floral wire in order to complete an event. I would expect any craft product call to either be done by an exact number of a given product or in terms of the EV. Again EV in this area is accumulated on only the items one is able to produce on our farm.
Neither of the above may even be required this year and is only another 'What-if" preparation.

Keep going and supporting one another and watching your farms grow.

I am just amazed. Many farms will be able to work the basic event but the competition for TOP 1000 is for a select few with even less making it. And you are considering sending three farms? All I can do is smile and hope that one day you may decide to work on seriously sending just one of your farms.

And don't forget I still really want the Illy cheer-leading pom pom deco item.

Glad to hear I am still able to amaze you FB! :D

Well, I will probably not be entering any of my farms this year after the two recent barn emptying events. It's not that I donated that much but they did make me realise how far out of my league I am in comparison to those who enter (let alone win) the HH extravaganza! :wuerg:

My strategy is for all three farms to have trees out in most fields (excepting the Glade for Illy and Chevrefeuille where I keep all my most "important" pens/workshops and trees out), only pulling them out when necessary for events (though no crop growing events for baby Chevrefeuile - honest injun!). :music:

All farms go through the markets when I have the time, buying up cheap or bulk offers of animals or products. I already started to stockpile Parrot Feathers (I had done this previously and there was an event calling for them, so I made a lot of CCs on them pretty things!) as I think they are always under-priced. Parrots often cost more! :p

This strategy will last as long as the mood takes me! But I do really want to enter the HH in 2017 - if it takes place/if my barn is not emptied by other events/if I can get past the qualifying event stages (if there is/are such things). We shall see! xD

Did you not get the Illy Cheer-Leading Pom-Pom deco item in the last G&T? It must still be floating around in the Farmerama ether. I should post in the Tech department if I were you! :inlove:

We have an Harvest Hoedown Every Year.........But The Price of Crops and Fruits in the Markets have really Climbed much higher than last year

To reflex to Price increases of Crops and Fruits in the Markets.....To any Farmer who is Primed at Stocking up Barn Stocks of Best Exchange Values of Fruits and Crops over the Year Leading up to next HH. Will have Found it goes going to far more expensive to be able to Complete in TOP 500/1000 this Year.

A Need to add an Newer Fact there is less Crops and Fruits in circulation in the Markets Especially Rarer Fruits or Low Exchange Value Fruits that also gives Little EP during Harvesting.

The Lessor Circulation of Long Time Crops is Showing in the Markets such ranging from Hazelnuts to Spelt as These Crops Prices has never been as high as they are now. As seem to be a newer Trait these Crops are been Ignored to Grow Hence Shortage of these Long timed reaping crops in the markets.

It seem more and more of us are growing Crops that sells well in the Markets. As finding real Bargains in the Markets these days seem to be coming a rare occurrence these days.

We have had new Tropical Fruit Trees added to our Markets Since Last Year, Thanks to Monkey Queen we can unlock these new Tropical New Trees that gives us High Exchange Value....With Addition that some of these Newer Tropical Trees takes lessor than 20 Hours to Grow. On Top of that we have Buffs and New Pet and Cloud Row than can reduce Tropics Trees Times even Less up to 30% Lessor Growing Time.

However with Recent Events we had and Some Quests too which has Drain our Barn Stocks of Good Exchanged Value Stocks which has Slow down or Dented our Health Barn Stocks of Good Exchange Values for Hoedown Event.

On Basis of Analysis of Market Behaviour over the year. The Quantity of Exchange Values might not be as high as Top 1000 was Last year due to shortfall. Unless Many Farmers are prepared to Spend Millions or Billions of CC into Buying up Crops and Fruits or Even Parrot Feathers in the Markets

Keep up with Hoarding as Best as you can :D;):p:)xD
