automatic "no event drops needed"

This is related to, but not at all the same as 2 other suggestions (to let people designate gifts they want and to stop getting drops from events)

I would like a way to temporarily block my neighbors from sending event drops. It could work something like the current system that blocks all gifts once a maximum number is reached, except this would be just for event drops. (Other drops and gifts could come as normal). When that happens, anyone trying to send an event drop would get a message saying "this person no longer needs event drops, please feel free to send another gift". We could have an option in settings to have this happen automatically when events are ongoing, OR it could be something like a button we push on an "event by event" basis. Also, it would either automatically expire. OR If its a button we activate/deactivate, then a warning should go out when the event is over and probably ALSO a day or so before any new event, so we don't accidentally leave it on....

Although there are times when I struggle to get drops for events, there are other times when I finish an event fairly early and no longer need them. It always makes me feel a tad guilty when I keep getting drops, know others are struggling and my neighbors are still sending them to me. This would be entirely voluntary. Although we can IGM people, many of my neighbors don't speak English. In addition, that takes time, particularly since cannot send out messages to every neighbor at one time anyway, we can only send some, then have to wait to send more later. Its hard to remember to do that, and just plain time consuming.

 

Woody, although your suggestion is a good one, it could also be solved if BP would implement a feature to allow players to designate gifts. One feature for all gifts (daily and event). Right now I would rather they slow down the events and work on an option for gift designation.

 

Love your idea woodyI have (on very few occasions) sent IGM's to my neighbours requesting they send drops to those who really need them...referencing the SOS thread. Many of my neighbours and friends are not able to (BigFish players) or don't know how to access the forum. Sending out multiple IGM's is tedious and as you, pointed out, we are only able to send to a limited number.
As of late, I seem to spend more time having to utilize help via the SOS thread for events. A button that could send out an SOS message (once) to our neighbours and friends list during an event would be beneficial also.
