I got 168 drops from my first harvest. Got 3 set of trees + Miscellaneous prizes except sticker. Do not know which way to proceed. I have come to a stand still.

 

I just harvested 5 fields and got 66 (3 from magic). I'd like to know if this is great, normal, or lousy. Anyone let me know what they've seen so far.

 

Got 98 drops from 4.5 fields of trees and that was with drop booster cloud row going - rubbish for this farm, but I have never found drops from trees to be great here ever, so I'll see how it goes.

 

Isn't it more worth it to just donate for the small deposits if you look at the ratio of fruit values to star offered?

Can someone who got the new trees tell us what the EV are on the tree fruit when harvested?
I won't buy anything until last minute to use every drop I get and I haven't made up my mind yet about how many I want must be the heat.

I'm finished. I got all Miscellaneous items and 5 sets of each tree. Trees planted and mulched. If I get enough may get another set but it'd be hard to get the numbers correct.
I used 16S, 16M and 20L (Thanks Mir)...

I've gotten all the Misc. and 1 set of trees. Will now save up all my drops and see how far they will get me (like Meba). If I could get the Islands to harvest on time I'd be much happier. Trying to hang on to all my 'good' fruit it's taken me so long to put that all up in stock.

 

Do whatever you can. In general, more time = more drops. That may or may not mean higher level. If you have any rare trees, put them out. Also put out the highest level trees.

However, since you are not that high up, it might be worth just selling things in the market

 

The good news-- I still have all of those apple trees out.
The bad news-- I donated to my trophy a couple of days ago (ouch!)
The stupid news-- I didn't check here about the July events (d'oh!)

Hoping I will get enough for at least a couple.

The hilarious news-- one of the trees on the list is a Colorado Noxious Weed species (List B, salt cedar). Beautiful trees, but they do suck groundwater like crazy.

 

I planted trees everywhere. I had the island ones planted early and turned off my auto harvester. I planted xxl trees on glade and xl on meadow with regular ones on my main. I was able to harvest all but the regular for the first harvest when I got up a bit ago (after staying up all night trying to finish the last of the teabags and coming up 82 short). I got 56 drops on the first harvest from the 4 fields done. Hoping it is a better drop than the last event. As is, using a bunch of the tree fruit that is in the barn and working my way to the star coins.

edit: The salt cedar is listed as an invasive plant in most of the desert southwest of the US and eradication is being attempted because of the vast amount of water they use. They seem to naturalize along the desert southwest rivers and are near impossible to get rid of.

 

Welcome ChristmasTreeFarm! Please pardon the late reply. This is what I would do:

• Cover my entire farm with apple trees if you can afford them. (Your farm will always have them and they are cheap.) I would just throw them in the barn and forget about them after the event. Build a farm infrastructure and get going. The infrastructure will fund whatever quests you are working on.
• Sell the apples as fast as I can harvest them which is about twice a day. After the first round the proceeds should pay for all the apple trees and you have them for the life of your farm whether you ever use them again or not.
• I would get the 10 stars and the power feed and ignore the rest of the event.
• As I sold the apples, I would hold the proceeds and wait for a while and get some idea of the drops. I would want the stars and that power feed as cheaply as possible. If I have to buy tree fruit to get the things I want then I just do. (Keep selling the apples.)
• When the event ends I would buy 128 chicken pens. (One round and sell and thy will be paid for.
• Next I would purchase rabbit pens. They are cheap also and in one round they will be paid for.

Got an underwhelming 85 drops from 5 fields of trees (59 on bearbabe). To be fair, my trees are staggered due to the tea event, but still...Did enough to get 2 sets of trees and all the misc., will follow in the paw prints of other great farmers and sit back and gather fruits and drops while decide just how many new trees is enough. Quit at one set of trees and the misc. on bearbabe, barn's not that full of tree fruit. May look in on the market too, see if prices are good enough for me to decide to sell. Was thinking of taking a run at HH this year, but probably won't, so might as well make some CCs. One thing I did that might be beneficial to others - I have been buying lemons cheap for a while, so had a fairly good stock of them. They're not worth much, only 80 EV, but if you have a large stock of them (or other low EV tree fruits), it's a cheap way of doing the large baskets without biting into your higher EV stock you may want to sell or save.

 

Thank you woody and farmer_broke for your suggestions. A kind neighbor sent me a product to sell in the market to help raise the CC for trees. I bought over 100 trees.

 

I got four sets of trees and all the misc. Hardly made a dent in all my stockpiled tree fruits this was fun!

 

Hmmmmm.....this seemed far too easy. Got all misc items and one set of trees. Will wait till the end of this event, to see how many wonderfruit I have accumulated, to possibly purchase more trees. Too bad we can spend our surplus coins on GB's!!!!

 

11 hours into the event, I have gotten 119 drops from 5 fields of mainly xxl and xl trees. 3 fields were started 24 hours ago and the last 2 were 13 hours ago when I harvested the last of the crops for teabags in the tea event. I had turned off the harvester and it is on automatic now. I went ahead and used tree fruit and got all the misc and 4 sets of trees . So glad we don't have to depend on the special drops in this event. Amazing my drop rate is so low with the LL and trophy maxed for years.
