Farm Marriage/Wedding

Recently I was asked about Hubby/Wife Feature in this Game. Since I been playing this Game 6 Years Now.

In the Daily Gift Section we have option to send a Diamond/Gold or Silver Wedding Rings. I do not see the Point of Keeping This Feature in this Game. As I have not heard any one every mention using these at all. Not to mention it has no use or Benefit to anyone.

I cannot even find a FAQ about Wedding Rings. Also a Wedding Arch that has something to do with it. As it is completely Forgotten or Ignored.

Just Wonder can this Feature be revamped and Improved in any way. Other I have to make a suggest to have it removed if it not having a purpose to anyone ??

I welcome anyone else who is still around remembers this Feature.....??

If I remember right, your countdown to harvesting the Wedding Arch starts after your partners harvests his/her wedding Arch.

Silver Wedding arches give 100 EP every 24 hours
Gold Wedding arches give 150 EP every 18 hours
Diamond Wedding arches give 200 EP every 12 hours

I myself have never wanted to do this, largely for what I will term "superstitious" reasons. I myself would like to see the benefits kept (though a revision would not hurt), but with a slightly different terminology. Maybe "partner" -- as in company partner, would be better -- at least as an option (you could do something like the arch, just with a different theme). I am sure some people very much like the wedding feature, but others do not. Having an option for a similar item with a different name/theme would be very nice.

there are many reasons why people might not like a "wedding", even in a game. This would be a nice alternative.

 

You are right woody. I did not like the term 'wedding'. I felt the same as you. I tried it for sometime between my 2 farms to see what was it and then removed it.

I personally feel marriage is a aspect of life that cannot be made a plaything.

 

Benefits is all I care about.
We have vegan tigers Tiggers why not a marriage? not sayin anything, but the goodies. We start dumping all the odd stuff we will have nothing crazy weird left, I liked the wacky look of pics of old city here .... some really great graphics bit the dust.

Let's see:

500 ep say every 12 hours and it takes the space 1x2
By time you find a partner your into the higher levels so waiting on that ep well....

I think I will set out 2 castle birdstone 9 hours 512 ep each.

Yeah, I think a revamp would be in order.

 

Well, as a recipient of a diamond wedding ring/arch, I have to present the other point of view - of course! It does come with benefits, and can be harvested on a field or in the Park, where mine is. It is a cute reminder of a friendship, gives EP, and also gives an extra gift option each day that can be sent to your partner.
Since it is a completely optional choice, IMHO I think it is just another cute, and rather sweet, option to play - or not to play - in the game.

You make a good point, 1-2, about respecting marriage - always - but as in all things human, it also comes down to personal responsibility. For example, many years ago there was a board game - now a Classic - called "The Game of Life" which dealt specifically with marriage, making a home, having children, etc....that was strictly for fun for all ages. It was not considered at all disrespectful...it was considered a fun part of life.

However, I agree with ming that a revamp/increase in benefits, in keeping with the game's progress, might be in order.....and - "We start dumping all the odd stuff we will have nothing crazy weird left...." LOL - ming!! You do have a way with words!!

 

I agree with farmlily3 I believe marriage is a thing to be respected but as it is in this game we get married in real life I think it is a nice addition to the farm game there is no disrespect its all part of life real and virtual and it would be nice if it were revamped to keep up with the game and make it a more desirable option

 

I just want to clarify that I am not saying marriage should be eliminated. Its just that along with a revamp, why not offer something similar as another option. I term my objection purely "superstitious", nothing else. And... I grew up playing life (lol), it was a good board game.

When the Farm Marriage was introduced I was very excited and it was so fun to me to "get married" I was very young at that time. This thread sparked my curiosity and I asked for my marriage records. I have got married 5 times(but not with five differenct husbands). My first marriages didn't last long, but now I am married 2 years with my current husband and I don't intend to break up. For me farm marriage has always been a fun feature of the game, that's why I had made a suggestion before to introduce more "relationships" that we can have with our neighbours.
Farmerama is a game so we can have fun! I wouldn't like this feature to be gone but maybe a few improvements would be nice

 

Agree with mingling on this too. .....but thats assuming you have enough room to use an ep giver/deco worth only 500 ep, especially when givers/deco's in your Park, Shipwreck Bay and Magic Stalk rows are full and you have to only use items of highest ep value while the rest of your ep givers/deco sit unused... Sure do appreciate my hard earned winnings just sitting there, going unused. But hey, why make this simplistic point with little ep impression/impact, after all its no big deal sitting on 100+ ep givers/deco's only worth 200 ~ 500 each.
