I'm hoping that no news is good news regarding Lexi's cut antler. Let's hope that Freya will be relatively stress free when her time comes. :)

Noelle, at this rate, not sure if Freya will ever be weaned. She's still happy and healthy but still a little might! ;)

Lexi's broken antler - the bone marrow that was visible (seems) to have hardened but hard to tell as I keep it coated in a protective aluminium spray which forms a seal against infection and fly strike - and sparkly silver!

Older babies seem to be settling a bit more everyday but all go through honking sessions as their mothers aren't always on fence line as they are hiding in their field shelters from the flies/sun.. Lexi is still the least relaxed.

Today's first... A lovely "Arty F*rty" picture of Loki, in his new head collar (thank you to a USA reindeer owner who ordered them for me/and posted as company don't have website or email and baby reindeer head collars are just not available in UK).

and then just a normal one for you to see all the weaned babies and Lexi's antler, hopefully healing.

PS sorry couldn't add general baby photo (with Lexi) as I hadn't uploaded to FB...:( But will try to include a Lexi Story on their FB page tomorrow so that I can Share with you too...

That is a fantastic picture of Loki. It would look great in a frame to hang on a wall!

Lilaclady... you are welcome to steal it!! I have several already.. If you want a higher def.. let me know.. My main wall hanging is photo below... just loved the "Colgate Smile" of haylage (star on chest)
SORRY can't share from my photo gallery... would have to scroll back years on FB :( But Lila, I am not a professional photographer, so just give a shout out if you want any in higher definition... :)

I always enjoy your photos, but this one is exceptionally good! Very professional look!:D

Hope all the babies settle down from weaning quickly. My RL neighbor just went through weaning puppies - very noisy, unhappy time for everyone nearby!:p

Willow how many puppies your neighbor has? I hope they get quieter now;)

What a beautiful picture of Loki, and I do believe RED is his color!;) I hope Lexi will soon not be so stressed and that her antler will heal properly and all will be good!:inlove:

    Lexi Freya update...
Don't quite know what to say about Lexi since her broken antler was removed.
I am keeping the flies/maggots at bay and hopefully infections too. She isn't honking for her mother quite as much, she is eating but she does seem a little "down".
Freya's mother is still in with the babies and she is very confident if her mother is hiding elsewhere. She's still small and with tiny antlers but happy and healthy..

Poor Lexi, I think she is down because she really just went through an operation (losing her antler)
that she had not planned on doing! The shock to her little system and being separated from her mum
is going to take a little adjustment time..bless her little self! :):inlove: And little Freya is as cute as she can be! Great pictures as always, thanks Karen!

Oh I feel for Lexi not being able to get to her mummy. I'm glad they are in side by side paddocks. Yes, sweet Freya...so tiny & cute! Good thing you are keeping the girls. That way you, their human mummy, can keep a good eye on them.

And my silly to make you all laugh, I hope!!!

R.I.P. Jolley Mega Ball... We loved you.
Despite resuscitation from hubby and then Jackie (puncture repairs), CPR just wouldn't work. Lung puncture beyond and despite Wilma, the tractors, best efforts to re-inflate the air escaped faster than it was blown in... :(
In his prime he was 40" in girth but not now!

Shop the end of season beach balls? Might not last as long as the Jolly Mega ball but the price might be attractive. xD (I'd leave one a bit shy of total inflation to see if it might last longer that way.)

Perhaps a basketball might last longer? :music:

Beach balls too small to replace Mega Ball (it was 3 1/2ft tall) I am wondering if they make a 4' Shot Put ball!!!

Anyway, Lexi seems to have settled a lot more today. Don't think I heard her honk at all.. Only honking was Freya, whenever she scratches herself she honks... "that darn back leg keeps attacking me mummy" (and her mummy is still with the babies).

Have a few great stills of today but thought I'd share a feeding video with the babies (plus Ana) in home paddock and the rest in the background to give you an overall view.
If you want a few stills as well then please, someone reply.. ;)
