Much to my surprise, I had everything already in my barn. The fish was the easiest - 1 Puffer fish(58,000ev), and 1 Clown fish(2,000ev) = 60,000ev...and done.

You don't need neighbors to participate in the event, nor does it matter if you have neighbors for the global rewards. All players' contributions are counted for the global effort. Welcome Back!

I believe the event you are talking about is Winter Magic 2012. I joined in September and remember this one very well. We did have players from the EN work tirelessly with other forums to get support to rally all farmers to participate and try to meet those global goals. We also had players petition for extending the event since so many players were on holiday. Illy, it does seem like you helped us with the French forum but I don't remember exactly who led the charge because I was new and didn't know many people.

This is from the Winter Magic FAQ
1. Only the 2 event resources can be directly donated in the Global counter (snow rose and mistletoe), and their respective value will be added to the counter. If you donate items directly into the Global part, you'll get credited according to this rule (item value):
1. 1.5 EP for each Snow rose
2. 10 EP for each Mistletoe

Unfortunately, we were not successful in completing the global event and it was hard enough that those who remember shied from doing future global events.

The Eager Beaver global event that was done was finished with an hour and 45 minutes to go.

 

Good news: The dynamic market price is working again. So happy it's no longer stuck. It was horrific.

Finished all personal donations within 5 minutes after the start. Now waiting for the global bar to reach the top. Will spend some spare time on the market.

I haven't even started, as BBD is not on yet, and I urgently need the twins to get somewhere with my breeding.

Hopefully BP will not shorten the event times for the future

There was still talk going on about this event when I started. It was Chayy that went bravely into other forums trying to get donations.

 

I remember Chayy and was sorry she left the game.

Congrats to those finished! I have Cows and Dogs done. Need to wait for BB to get the Geese done and I have what is needed to finish with the Fish! Then I will keep watching the Global meter rise!

 

That winter event was horrible! Weren't we given Hark as a consolation prize since I remember there being outrage at how slowly the bar moved!
All done here - did no breeding just basic animals and my stock of level 1 geese plus a level 3 one that I won on the wheel. Happy camper here. Will dump a bit extra in since I keep winning barnacle geese on the wheel!

 

I'm also finished on both farms with donations of what I already had in stock. I didn't primarily donate regular and level 1 animals as intended because those prices have drastically risen in the market. I donated higher animals with the intent of selling regulars and level 1 animals making my contribution a fraction of the CC I will gain from sales. I considered the market value of all animals yesterday and again this morning and if I had to buy all level 1 animals for the geese (78 white geese), it would have been over 20 million CC. However, if I purchased the animals listed below, it would have been approx 2-3 million. Though the amounts for the rest of the animals are different, the result was the same.

Geese: 2 Canada, 2 barnacle, 1 graylag
Cows: 1 Highland, 1 Alpine, 1 White, 1 Brown, 1 Regular cow
Dogs: 2 Husky, 1 Elkhound, 2 Dalmatians
Fish: 1 Puffer, 1 Clownfish

I know, I wanted to leave this event aside but I am observing the german forum and they are trying to get as many guys in to do the event as possible

Think I will try my luck with the Cows and the dogs. *Fingers crossed for nice steps at BBD*

Finished the personal quest. Donated just the animals. We have crossed the first level and nearing the finish of the second level in the global event. Will start donating for the global event tomorrow.

 

Right now the event is up for 2 hours, when the global bar keeps its speed we'll reach the top in about 4 hours from now

 

That would be great. I like the cloud row.
I will go to my other farms and try to do the event in full.

Finished personal donations with regular animals and a few white fronted geese, all from barn stock. Hope the global challenge will be completed. Cloud rows do add up in the long run, especially those that give craft items.

I wasn't going to do this event, but after seeing how easy 60000 in donations were with just what I had in my barn I couldn't resist.
Finished all personal donations and contributed some alpine cows to global. (wheel wins)
Now just selling all fish, geese, cows and dogs and pheromones.
Gotta make those CCs

I just completed the first and the second level but I need to breed to finish the third. I don't have enough geese.
It seems to me we are doing great in the global donations! Not a whole day has passed and we have already reached so high!

 

I used a valentines pot reducing animal housing time
geese will only be 3.5 hours (with water) means 5 harvests of geese a day...15 pens out....
15 cow pens out as well.....
20 dog pens out..
but only 2 yellow and 2 orange fish ponds...not enough...

Should be enough normal ones (exempt fish) to get something nice with the breeding.. Powerfeed could cause problems..

But the event is just a few hours old... everything can happen...
