Fencing contractors came today, but a late start as tractor had puncture, and them their hydraulics died on it's post bumper but they are up and running again.... might finish tonight, if not tomorrow.... I soooo hope as Hector was "very playful".

Thankfully he hasn't stripped velvet but he was playing with all with his antlers (wrapping them around legs and gently pushing) and chasing Mischa around paddock incessantly (guessing she has come in season early).

Yesterday the tree pile build for Hector and girl to strip out velvet, I planned for Boris to help haul trees. I kitted Boris out with his pulling harness so that he could help us move branches for the build.

All well for about 5ft then he just gently laid down and started chewing cud... (Memories of his early lead rope training but then he used to sit on my foot, rather than move forwards)!
Picture is of Boris and my two wonderful helpers... :) We were all too busy laughing to take pictures of him "On Strike"!

He probably thought "why should I do all the work when there are humans to do it!"

The harness is a traditional Sami harness (made from reindeer hide :( but it's good they use every part of the animal).

Just had to share with you all. I have just turned down a reindeer booking.... in Ho Chi Min City, Vietnam! While I would love to visit their wonderful city and they would pay all flights etc., I just couldn't put my babies through 6548 miles travelling!!! :( I am honoured that my little herd has a worldwide following though but I will keep their bookings closer to home. After all I can't have them exhausted for their Big Christmas Eve Flight. ;)

That was some invitation to go to Vietnam and I'm sure it would have been quite the trip but that is a long way to go! As usual I :inlove::inlove: all the pictures!! The four cuties at the feeding trough is great and you can really get a sense of the difference in their sizes! Cheering for Freya and her antlers!;)

Wonderful news. I will keep my fingers crossed that she a) does move and b) doesn't decide to do anymore damage before she goes. Once she leaves, give my thanks to the landlord (I'm assuming that may be why she is moving). Even if he isn't responsible, it wouldn't hurt to give him/her/them some appreciation.
