    :(I am sorry 12ss12!
I know how it is to be the fourth and not getting a medal(of course she must have felt worse because it is the Olympics!). Two years ago I had participated to some sport competitions competing against students from all over Greece and Greeks who live all over the world. I was the fourth in one of the sports I took part(running 1000 meters) and I was so dissapointed. Hopefully this didn't make me give up and in the rest 3 sports I won 3 medals! (tennis, running 3000 meters and swimming)

Yes, its somewhat sad. The difference is point odd numbers. But she said she is confident of getting medal in the next Tokyo 2020 Olympics. All the best to her.

Arielh, You are an athlete ! That's really great. I should have known that you are a sports person when you said you go for swimming in the sea. ;):) Congrats for all the medals you won, that too in international games for Greeks and my wishes that you take part in lot more important sports & games and win lots & lots of medals. :)

Thank you so much 12ss12:) Well I go swimming in the sea everyday but not because I am training. Because it is very hot and I like swimming(and because it's near my home). In swimming I got the silver medal(I didn't get a gold in any of the sports), the gold was won by a Greek girl living in South Africa and she had professional training in swimming. Well I beat the same girl in the final for the bronze medal in tennis. So she didn't get a medal there. But what is very important to mention is that we became very good friends and we didn't hate each other. We were both happy that the best won each time.
I wish I will get the chance to take part again in other important sports competitions! I :inlove: sports!

Another gold medal for Greece! Eleftherios Petrounias won the gold medal in Men's rings(Gymnastics):D

I have to say some sports are more important than others. Not all olympic medals have the same value. For some athletes should try so much that can't be compared to the rest of the athletes.

The Dutch athlete and the Greek have the same time but only the Dutch will get the gold. And after them 5 athletes ended the same time but only one will get a medal.
I watched this marathon and it was exciting! Usually there are not so many athletes finishing so close.

Simone Biles took her 4th Gold in Gymnastics this evening with an outstanding performance. How can she make it look so easy? Big applause! Yet again I'm in tears for her performance :inlove::inlove:

But our Dutch Susanne Wevers beat her on the balance beam. gha! But I agree... Biles is a category on her own. Dang she's good.

GOLD for us on the 10k open water swimming, both female and male. whoohoo!
@ariel, the dutch guy was lucky in hitting the board first, and the greek was unlucky in how is last stroke came out... but the dutchman was clearly first, even if they have the same time.

Too bad Epke zonderland fell off the high bridge in athletics.

also, Marit bouwmeester, also dutch...won in another sailing category, GOLD. whoohoo!

I think we're seventh in the medal table now... and that for this tiny tiny country of mine! I am a little bit proud. :)

Not clearly. When they finished the camera showed the Greek guy as the first but then they thought of it again for around 5 minutes to decide.:)

the second vid/gif shows their arrival.

    http://www.geenstijl.nl/mt/archieven/2016/08/goud_ferry_weertman_wint_10km.html

But indeed, they took quite a while to decide! I think because the Greek arrived first, but the dutchman touched the board first. And that is what counts... I still feel sorry for the Greek.

Oh, and I just watched the beachvolleyball game between the dutch and the brasillians... (dutch lost) but WHAT an unsportive audience! EVERY time the dutch touched the ball they loudly boo'd.
I'd be ashamed if the dutch did that. It made for a nasty atmosphere.

Neon ! Don't worry about, Rio. Since I do not have any contacts with the Rio Olympics Team, I cannot say for sure.
    But have no worries.
We will have our own 'Farmerama Olympics - English 2016' this year :D and you can participate to your heart's content. Here are some more participants.

Six horse/rider combinations went double clear to advance to the jump off for the three medals in Individual Equestrian Show Jumping.

Gold - Great Britain - Big Star/Nick Skelton 42.82 Zero faults
Silver - Sweden - All In/Peder Fredricson 43.35 Zero faults
Bronze - Canada - Fine Lady/Eric Lamaze 42.0? Four faults

EDIT: Thanks hatzeva for the horse's name. I couldn't find it on the Olympic Results site. (Really, the riders couldn't do it without the horses.)

My honorable mentions to Switzerland, USA and Qatar for making the jump off. :)
