It's been hot, humid and sticky this past week....yuck!! My daughter has a garden and I was hoping to be able to work in a little this week but the humidity makes it hard for me to breathe bc of my COPD:( Last week, I managed to weed all around the beets but it doesn't look like any one has really done much since last week-.--.- Next week I will be there for 4 days so fingers crossed I can get out there:music::D

Hot, hot, hot and in serious need of rain! We were having record rains but that didn't last ... now nothing, and with temps upper 90's to low 100's that just isn't helping. My trees are dropping their leaves because of the stress; my poor fig tree is bare of leaves but figs hanging on. I water twice daily but that just doesn't compare to a good soaking rain.

Hot here too in the UK with temps up to 90F = 30C. We call this a heat wave but it wont last as later in the week its expected to cool down to 20-25C which is more normal.
Hope everyone is enjoying the summer. :):)
It starts to get serious when we all get a hosepipe ban:cry:

Holy Moly it's hot here - 33C, suncream slapped on repeatedly and staying in the shade. Perfect weather for doing nothing in ;)

It has been hot and humid the last couple of weeks-.-:( And an unusual amount of rain. Trying not to complain about that though bc at least we are getting rain:p:p But the humidity and high dewpoint makes it really hard for me to breathe.

    8) It's been the same here - hot, humid, and hardly breathable!! :wuerg:
It's beautiful and sunny...but I'm staying indoors!! (And there have also been Public Notices to stay indoors to avoid heat stroke, etc.!!)

In Saturday we had rain too! Very strange that during August but fortunatelly after that day the weather is not as hot as it used to be the previous weeks. Still sunny but less warm:music:

Am asking prayers this morning for the State of Louisiana. My home is fine, high and fairly dry this morning. Rains for most of last week has caused extensive flooding in a lot of areas. Over 100,000 thousand homes have been destroyed. People have been trapped in their attics. Along with National Guard, State Police, law enforcement officers, fire department employees and volunteers was born another organization. They call themselves the Cajun Navy. All along the passable roadways truck after truck pulling boats were seen going to rescue people who were trapped. An 18 wheeler from NOLA opened its cargo to feed over 1500 people who had been trapped on a major highway for over 24 hrs. So while my heart is filled with sadness for the tremendous losses it is also filled with pride as so many made the lives and needs of others a priority. This rescue is ongoing as flooding continues.
Another note. All those who live in a one story dwelling, please buy a hatchet and place it somewhere safe in your attic. In case of flooding you can not be rescued without a way out. You have to be able to chop through that roof. Cell phones go down and many are left without service when it is needed the most.

My heart goes out to those people :(:(:( They have had more than their share of disasters over the years. That is really good advice, blessedlady.

So glad you are ok blessedlady! Many prayers going out for those affected in Louisiana. I have a niece that lives just north of the flooding. She is fine, but says it just won't quit raining.

Thank all of you so very much. While some places are drying out some areas are just beginning to flood because of the backflow. Over 20,000 have been rescued. My granddaughter spent most of the day Sunday on horseback rescuing horses. She said the current was so strong they had to be careful it did not pull them and the horses into the barbed wire which they could not even see. Totally amazing to see people helping people expecting nothing in return. Am praying that the love being shared here will affect our Nation as a whole.

    8) So sad to hear of such disaster!! It is encouraging, though, to hear how People are helping others in such a time! That's the way it should always be...people helping people...and I hope the examples shown there with you, blessedlady, spread rapidly, everywhere!! Hope you and your family stay s-a-f-e!!:inlove:
Blessings for your granddaughter, too, for remembering our less-fortunate 'friends', the animals!!:inlove:
