Hankies and hugs at the ready for tomorrow's farewell. It will be hard to see them go, but since they go to people you know, perhaps they will keep you posted on how they are doing and send the occasional photo.

I agree it is a wonderful thing for you to create a safe and welcoming opportunity for Luna to work with the reindeer. Making a positive difference in someone's else life is very special.

Blessings and hugs to you as you send your babies to their new home. You have given them a marvelous start in life and they will surely prosper.

How wonderful of you to make a place for Luna! She is so lovely; how sad cruel people cannot see the worth in other people. Another prize winning photo!:)

Their new "Mummy" was sobbing as they set off too... but happy tears I hope!

I had a text a couple of hours ago, that they had just crossed from England to Scotland and that the boys were travelling well and eaten at their feed stops. I have been checking my watch every half hour, even though I said not to worry letting me know until tomorrow as they will be home late and tired. Still a few more hours travelling to go though.

Boris brought me back to reality this afternoon though, making his presence known. I have a willow enclose (one of their favourite treats) which has been deer proof for 3 years. Boris was back in that paddock for less than 3 hours.... it is NO longer deer proof and the willow will be naked before I can reinforce! Dodgy picture as it was pouring with rain and he knew he was about to be caught and taken from his feast!
It's hard to tell from shots but once he had broken down wire he would have had to turn his head sideways (to get antlers under rail) and them Limbo-ed under rail! Wish I had seen him but then he wouldn't have done it if I was there...

Hopefully photos of baby boys in Scotland tomorrow.

I bet he would have looked great doing a limbo dance. He was obviously trying to take your mind off the days events!

8)So sad, with you, that the boys have gone:cry:....but glad they have gone to people you know who will send you photos and let you in on their new lives! We will all miss them so much. Thank you soooo much for sharing them with all of us - we have loved them too.:inlove:
How are Lexi and Freya taking the absence of their 'buddies'?? They seemed so close......

The boys are in their new home (11 hours later) so stressful but they travelled very well, they weren't stressed at all (just me). Bedded down for the night... Hopefully new owners will send pictures in daylight tomorrow... :) Think they will.
Edit. Farmlilly, Lexi and Freya weren't as bothered as I thought they would be but Loki's mother paced her fence line and yet she hasn't shared a paddock with Loki for 4 weeks. Might have been coincidence but she kept staring at me too... :( Felt so guilty...

BoHoKaren Why did you have to send them to another farm? (I have missed reading some posts:oops:)
How many reindeers did you give or sell?

Arielh Thor and Loki were sold on to friends in Scotland who only have castrates so cannot increase their herd and some of their boys are getting older now. It was very difficult but they were ordered before they were even born, which helped me slightly.

Anyone waiting for pictures in their new home??? They 11 hour journey doesn't seem to have worried them at all, they travelled well and ate and drank at all feed stops.

    8) Wow, Karen!! Thanks so much for the photos!! :inlove: The boys look great!:D And what a beautiful new home they have! The herd seems to have taken to them very well, too.
Their lack of stress is a direct result of the loving care with which you reared them!!
As Ming would say - Happy happies!!:music:

They do look happy with their new companions. It is good to see the residents are happy with the newcomers as well. :)

    Home news..
Hector hasn't stripped his velvet yet but the glands (under his eyes) are starting to open. A sure signs that his hormones are rising.

Boris is now on babysitting duty with Ana and Katya. They are now in Long Meadow (6 acre paddock) and almost get lost in the huge field shelter at meal times. :) The herd seems so much smaller with just 2 babies gone, especially as they are split into different paddocks, breeding and non breeding.
