I am mainly starting this thread so I can add the link to the SOS thread. Have I read the FAQs correctly? There are event crops but we don't have to grow them?

If this is right, then I will be opting for leaving my fields exactly as they are and just doing what I can with my Nublonian Batteries and stock in my Barn. Far too many working days to rip up my farm if there is no need! Wahoo! An event made in heaven (for me at least). :inlove:

Of course, if I have missed a vital point (as if LOL!) then I may just let this one go for the same reasons already given. So here are the SOS and FAQs threads links:

    SOS Recycl-O-Mat Drop Items/Nublonian Batteries

    FAQ Mini Event: Recycl-O-Mat

    Good luck everybody! ;)

My initial thoughts from reading the FAQ:

More expensive for each pool to donate to than it was last year (each pool is thousands more with same number of batteries)

The buffs of % EP for 8 hours are immediate rewards so I would suggest you donate to those pools prior to harvesting to take advantage of the extra EP as it could be a lost prize if you have already harvested. For example, I have out long pens like the tortoise and chameleon along with trees so those 8 hours of increased EP would be lost (much like immediate harvester rewards at bedtime).

I would love to see BP offer the companion animal stable when they offer a production workshop. I know we can get squirrels at Gift and Trade but they are hard to find. I have enough squirrels on this farm to support the production workshop but not on the other farm.

I will not be planting the event crop. My farm space is better used to work on other things right now.

The crafted items can be purchased in the market. The PF prize is always welcome, as well as rare pens and trees either for quests, market sales, an event requirement or for gift and trade. Other than that, nope, nothing that is a 'must have.'

Pups, I don't see any immediate buff prizes. Are you by any chance looking at the right hand column - I could have missed something but I have checked and double checked ... correct me please if I am missing something (we all know it wouldn't be the first time lol!). :music:

Pool A has 40% EP for 8 hours and Pool B has 15% EP for 8 hours.

Maybe I am wrong in assuming they are immediate rewards.

Sorry, Pups, I was looking at last year's Pools! Just saw August and thought that was it. So now I see the "real" prizes. Didn't want another Wolf Pen but I am eager to get a Badger Sett, that's about all. Even the CR is a little mean on EP and TEP. Never mind, I will get what I can when I can! xD

The items have a good value and, for me, convenient timing, so I was excited to collect as many as I could and disappointed to learn I can only get one of each...

Because of the immediately starting buffs I'll wait until the weekend, and do all the recycling in one go. I'll grow instant iris with super grow to get enough nublonian batteries for what I want. I am also not planning to grow any star flowers. Or maybe just a few, they look pretty :)

    Happy recycling everyone :D

I will only donate tree fruit, that's always been my strategy for this event;)

I just want to be sure about this event. I donate 10,000 worth of goods and the batteries and win one of the prizes in that category randomly?

Might be a good place for carnations or roses.

Does it mean we can donate anything from crops. tree fruit to animals and products?

What would ya'll recommend we start planting / rearing now to make the best of cc value per time production ?

I'm a bit on the fence with this one. Maybe cos I am so tired I'm almost sleeping as I type (or am I truly sleep-typing?o_O)

The rewards was okay, didn't get a rush and a"I must have that" feeling. Noticed there's a tree I don't have, and I love my trees. But there seem to be a random element in this, and that I do not like. I'm a planner (not always good at executing), and I like to know what I get. If this is based on random luck... I can see a whole lot of mulch winnings from party spins.
Will I take part ? Does a duck swim ? Of course I will, but not sure I'd be aiming to do it all (yeah right... leopard and it's spots -.-). I have won the textile mill and squirrels on the mill before, and I managed to get hold of an awesome Badger named Billy. Billy is claiming he'd like some company, but we'll see. 8)

I think you will win more than one of the prizes randomly. But we will be sure of that tomorrow.

The different prizes in each Prize Pool (A, B and C) are random, so yes, if you donate 10k worth of goods and 10 batteries to Prize pool C, you will get a random prize in that pool. Some things can be won multiple times and others are annotated as being only won once.

According to the FAQ, we can donate the event crop, both tropical and mainland crops and fruits, and Other which are tools located in your barn.

I would grow/plant whatever you have that has the best EV for the time you have available. As blessedlady said, many will probably donate roses and/or carnations just because we all have so many of them as they are planted before events to maximize drops. If you have refinements on a crop, that will be a bonus too as you will turn your farm even faster. XXL upgrades on your trees will also help a lot.

Simple event with decent rewards: Give and get. However I DO NOT recommend event participation to new and below 65 level farms.

Seeing clearly what BP is aiming for with regards to events and frequency of quest introduction, the strategy of this farm during this event will begin by being very foolishly supportive:
    • Products cannot be donated and the major strategy focus during this event is to keep parrot feathers above 1863.99!
    • Secondarily the farm will drag the carrot market down and reenter. Casual producers are now out and thank goodness.
    • Continue to push all mainland tree fruit prices up to 100% of EV.
    • Continue pushing long time crops to 100% of seed prices. Out with those long-timers! xD They'll be produced in hopes of unnecessary drops. And they will be sold cheap only for the proceeds to be spent on expensive tree fruit which will get even more expensive.
    • Continue chaos creation in the cow market! Maintain milk prices over 1,100. Keep cat feed above 1,250. Create dependence on the kitty cat cloud row by keeping cat prices above 6,000. I would like to see active use of the cow milk dairy beginning. A "broke-maniac" is now on the loose again.
    • Whenever a total of 3,500 pumpkin are listed during this event, the strategy is to clear the pumpkin market and complete Sirpippen's Pumpkin Patch at 1,000,000 .
    • Stay clear of the lettuce market.
Now out with those long-timers and that cow milk and those parrot feathers! xD8)

The only thing that bothers me is the "Random" awarding of the prizes. How many times do I have to donate until I have the Cloud Row complete?

Announcing the grand opening of "sirpippen's pumpkin patch" featuring over 1 million pumpkins. Thank you "sirpippen" for shaping this farm.

One-Two's carnation kingdom is still in the works. A carnation by any other name would still smell the same.

    puppiesnponies,

Where? I could find nowhere in the English language FAQ stating either what we can donate or how long the event crop takes and what its ExV (exchange value) is.

In the Italian FAQ, though, it's clearly stated that the event crop takes 8 hs (= 06:24 if watered) and has an ExV=40 CCs, plus listing "prodotti agricoli, animali, pianta evento, risorse evento, frutti arborei, produzioni, animali di Bahamarama, piante di Bahamarama e frutti di Bahamarama" (that is, all crops, animals, fruit, products -Main's and Baha's- and NOT Others, plus event's crops and special resources -the latter, buyable with BBs).
    http://it.bigpoint.com/farmerama/bo...l-ritorno-del-recycl-o-mat.28205/#post-265281

Needless to say, I'd only donate fruit. Exclusively.

So, though this is an event designed for those having well furnished barns, whomever wants to recover from what they'll donate should aim to fruit, mainly. Just to give a comparative parameter, if someone uses CAC, from 1 1x1-plot will get 120 CCs in ExV from the event crop in 06:24 if they also water it, whereas 240 CCs in ExV can be gotten from a single apple tree using the very same plot in 12 hours. Therefore, 2 conclusions follow from this: the event crop is a complete loss of time, space and effort, and almost whatever tree (all of those yielding more than 18,75 CCs in ExV per hour: that is, from apricot upwards in ExV terms are more convenient than the event's crop). And these calculations are based on using CAC. If you use PJ, then the numbers are even worse for the event's crop and so on if you use nothing or decide not to even use water.

Then, if I needed to recover from what I'll donate I'd carpet the farm with trees of all kinds, especially in Baha, where you can get the +1 (meaning 5 fruits in normal trees) through the use of PAC.

EDIT: Basic apple tree timing corrected above.

At the top of the page of the FAQ, it states that the event crop is the Star Flower. It takes 8 hours and is worth 40 points to donate.

I have made a mistake in stating that we could donate tools. I have been reminded that the Other category would be for the Nublonite Dust or Splinters.

Thanks Aluntino for the math to support that fruit is the better choice for donation purposes. I suspected that to be so but wasn't sure considering the Greenhouse refinements.

Thanks a lot, puppiesnponies. But, well, and I have no idea of why, in the English FAQ I have right now open, it still says nothing about the event crop or what we can donate...., which is really weird, a first.

But, anyway, who cares? The important thing is to know that the event crop is a lost effort and that fruit/trees are the way to go to recover from whatever one may donate.
