I got my first menagerie a couple of weeks ago, in baharama, with golden bananas.

The cost IS high, but achievable -- eventually. Whether the time to wait is worthwhile is hard to say. I think most of us who have these now already had stockpiles of GBs (and/or stars) we were not using. So, our judgements on the "cost" are not going to reflect what those starting out now will think.. and I believe that is a key point. With so many other things "out there", the reward of a menagerie is rather a let down. Faster stables and mills, more neighbors, cloud rows, etc, etc -- all of these things offer "more bang for the buck/GB" than these, particularly to start.

I have no real opinion on the power drills, except that if you make the challenge so very high, so purely random, then, again, it winds up just being something else we sort of know is "out there", but not worth worrying about. The random aspect limits it from your perspective, but from our perspective means we cannot plan, means that the reward has nothing at all to do with our dedication to the game or the effort we put into it. I am already at the point where I have few rewards, and those left are just things I get to "have them done", not because the reward is particularly "worthwhile" by any "real" (in game) measure. The last reward I really worked to achieve was opening shipwreck. Once that was done, I found myself looking around and saying "Ok.. now what" and finding nothing. With nothing to work towards, the rewards that meant a lot before, particularly EP/BEP (TEP), mean little but a footnote. I was happy to get mountain laurel, so I could mill kiwis feed (with a bit of humor at why a PA native plant would be the feed for a kiwis, but this IS a game, not reality --lol). Now, I find myself weeding through FSQ (literally "weeding", as in just getting rid of things that are annoying me with their persistence, not items that offer a particular pleasure from their reward). Events are more and more a burden -- something I feel I HAVE to do to stay in the game, not something I particularly enjoy.

I feel sad to make such complaints because I know you worked hard to develop all these new features. However, lack of honesty does not good in the long run.
