Was curious so I wandered over to your FB page. Glad to see Hector is sound again (if a few pounds lighter) and chasing the girls around. Hopefully he is doing right by them too. Hope you can post again soon.

 

Oh sorry folks, for some reason no reply alerts showed on Home Page, so thought the interest had died back a little and hadn't checked post!!!

Today's silly - launching hay into rutting paddock- my aim was off. Twiglet didn't mind a bit and carried on grazing with her new hair style. A mobile reindeer hay rack! Excuse the logo on photos but have to Share images from FB posts and if they are funny find occasionally people take them for their own, don't mind them Sharing but not using them as their own

 

We understand completely! Love the "Bad Hair Day" portable hay net!

 

Love those photos! I think Twiglet is just trying it out for her Easter Bonnet! She does look rather mysterious!

Heehee, at least I tagged them so that they weren't easy to steal... but my "y" doesn't work on computer unless I hit it hard, so second doesn't work as promotion either but to crop it out would loose balance !
A cute photo today taken by a new follower that has donated windfall apples... they were only allowed to meet Hector over the fence, due to rut... But Hector is Hector! Meant to be scary....

 

Will you just look at that face! I would just want to kiss that nose! lol It is very nice that you got some apples and they get to see sweet Hector!

 

Even in the "Rut" he is up for kisses from female (humans) over the fence, only..
Men he patrols fence line and won't let his girls get close..
He is forever a cutie but not even me "his favourite human" would I go into his paddock during the rut...
If there is a major problem with one of his girls then he would have to be held on a bull pole before I would dare enter his paddock at the moment..

 

Oh Karen, I totally understand how dangerous a bull in rut can and will be, no matter how cute he is at the fence line! Having said that, Hector does know how to put on the charm, I hope his harem of reindeer are as charmed by him as we are!

 

LOL....so Twiglet's Halloween costume is the scarecrow!!!! Hector is so adorable! I would love to give him a kiss!

I am sure you have heard, even if you don't believe, that talking to plants helps them grow....
Well, in my case I tell Freya how HUGE her antlers are ever day ...
They have grown but still rather tiny. Once she strips her velvet she will look like a cute little devil.

Another silly from today.. Not a good photo as it was Rutland and I can't enter paddock but there was a glorious rainbow so I tried to line it up with reindeer. Rainbow didn't show up in shot BUT Lotte is proud of the photo as "Her" antlers look huge.. What she doesn't want me to mention is that there were 2 reindeer laying in a identical position behind her and all you can see of them is their antlers..

 

What a great photo, Karen!! It does look like they are Lotte's antlers!! And she looks like she has really grown and matured, too!

Introduced a new feeder for sugar beet. Hector tucked into beet then decided it was worth killing... Oh the joy of the rut!
