I told MarlyMar to please please please come to my house
where she and her family will be safe.
Traffic is so bad they just can not make it out.
They went 6 miles in 1 hour on Interstate 10

 

My thoughts and prayers are with all who are impacted by this severe storm. My sister lives on the coast of SC. I'm so sorry to hear that evacuation did not work for you Marly. I hope the storm lessens its severity as it moves closer.

This is so scary for you all there in Florida! I too have family in the Ocala area and the closer it gets the more I get worried! MARLYMAR, I am so sorry to hear you were unable to evacuate, and having pets makes it even harder! I guess all we can do is pray that everyone will be ok!

Marly, it's not too late to leave. Would the roads be better later tonight? Or maybe take a different route? I hope you can find a way to get to Lea's.

we cant drive at night our headlights stopped working seems like things are being stacked against me at the moment please just keep praying for us and thank you everyone for your prayers and well wishes ill try to keep everyone updated on our progress

 

Marly - you have come up in my prayers several times today. Check traffic early tomorrow and see if you can get out then. Do not let fear overwhelm you; many are praying!

Happy news for me. Several friends from Cocoa Beach have made it to my city and a family member has also moved into a safe location.

Oh Marly, please do whatever you have to do to get to a shelter. Please don't attempt to stay in a trailer for a Cat 3 hurricane. Maybe I have seen too much after hurricanes but it terrifies me for you. You may not be in the eye which means the winds will be beating on you the whole time. If a tornado comes in with it you don't want to be in a trailer. You just can't trust Mother Nature. Riding out a bad Hurricane is a heart pounding, nerve shattering event that will stay with you for a lifetime.

it's looking a nasty hurricane, already killed over 300 in Haiti. Hope anyone here in it's path remains safe

I am hoping she is ok. The worst of the storm is just now getting to where she lives

 

I see she was on sometime during the night to "like" some posts... and I too hope she is ok and able to ride it out. Not sure where she's at exactly, or JJenks either, but I sure wish they would check in soon so we can stop wondering/worrying about them!

I had Matthew dreams all night, fell asleep with the weather channel on!

No, I'm way out here in California... farrrrr from Matthew's destruction!

 

My area is well clear of the danger zone, but we are getting some clouds from the storm. We had heavy traffic yesterday coming from the east, as we are on the interstate and have lots of motels. Lots of prayers going out for my Florida friends closer to the storm!

hey guys so far I'm ok lots of wind and heavy rain the worst wont be here till about 5pm est its been scary so far I'm really not looking forward to the worst of it but thank you all for the concern and thoughts and prayers I'm afraid I'm still going to need more we are not out of this by a long shot they said we will feel it from 5pm to after midnight ill check in again in a little while if I lose power ill text Lea or my daughter and they can keep you informed love and huggggssss to all of you
