Great!! Thanks Brooke. Hopefully all our farmers are now accounted for and safe. Prayers going out to all as they try to recover from the aftermath of this storm. For many it will be a long, heartbreaking task.

Super glad everyone has reported in...one way or another, that they are okay.xD
I understand the comment made by Kaydd2. Billions of dollars were raised and a fund created for the previous devastation that hit the Haitians. Unfortunately, that foundation has only paid out about 2% of the funds raised and has done very little to help the Haitain people. Most of the monies raised came from the people of America......ALL lives MATTER

Thank you Farmilly for sharing those pics....although I am glad my farm community friends are okay...I cry when I see such devastation:cry:

    Hi all,
I was one of the many trying to fly into Florida on Thursday as I was returning from a trip. Of course my flight was cancelled. I finally got home last night. Thankfully my family is all ok, lots of wind but no flooding.
Thoughts and prayers to all recovering.

One more thing and I promise to Gump up. Lesson learned from the last devastation we recently had here. Always Google the salary of the CEO of the organization before you donate.

Wise....very wise;) Not only that....but search their personal - prior history/records/media. How they treat their family and fellow country patrons is a clear signal-.-or :) or just their last name will do!!!

I live in PA and my daughter and her family went to NC last Thursday through Sunday. Son in laws youngest sister was having an "official" wedding Sat ( she had already gotten married at the J.P.'s) I thought they were crazy for driving down there during this storm but you know, family. Anyhow, it took them over 2 hours to try to get out of NCo_Oo_O:eek: She said every route they took was blocked by water. a lot of the people cancelled coming to the wedding bc of the weather. Guess that's a wedding you wouldn't forget. I am so glad that most survived with minimal damage. Not sure if that is the proper thing to say so I hope all understand what I am trying to say:):)

I'm Back :D Thank you everyone for your well wishes and prayers, boy did we need them. Just got internet turned on last night at one house, power turned on only 3 days ago...Hot showers :D been running generators and grilling out. Oh so much damage, it was one of the scariest times in my life. Picking up the pieces now and trying to move forward. Three houses and all 3 will have to have roofs. Our main house we live in is on the river. It took major water damage, pool is ruined and screen room is gone. A main water line under foundation broke, don't even know how we're going to fix that one yet. My parents house was in the process of being sold to my daughter but since it wasn't final all repairs fall on me. New roof, windows, water damage, fencing, tree removal. The farm house ( I'm staying there now) needs new roof, 2 windows, new fencing, barn doors, pool damage, and we're doing the tree removal ourselves.
The picture that Farmlily posted of A1A in Flalgler County is about 8 miles down the beach from our house....the beachside really took a hit, but Thank God Mathew stayed off shore.
This picture is one of our front yards... 12ss12 we had quite a few of our large Live Oaks just lay over, the whole root system pulled up.
And then of course I had to bring a couple of refugees :inlove:

I wish I could keep them but I'm only boarding them until their owner can get their home fixed. They are so sweet. :inlove:
Unfortunately I don't have time to farm much right now, Have to meet with insurance adjusters, but will be popping in and out as much as possible.

Good to see you JJ! So glad you and the family are ok. I know it is a big job to oversee cleanup. Still keeping you in thought and prayer.
The ponies are adorable! Glad you were able to offer them temporary shelter while the owners get ready for their return. It is hard to go through a natural disaster with pets and the larger they are, the harder it can be.
    Good luck with the repairs!

You are so right Marly, my family and I are safe that is what matters most. One of my sisters lives in Deland and lost one of her neighbors. She went out right after the storm to check on her horses and a tree fell on her. So I do count my blessings, life is precious, the rest can be replaced with time and a lot of hard work.

Found out today insurance will not cover anything other than house at daughters place. Have roofers lined up for estimates the next 3 days and have a low deductible at least damaged place and high deductible at most damaged place :sleepy:.....Oh well, it will all work out somehow
