Oh my....I was absolutely not aware of this event. So all fields full with pens (short/midterm), trees and only a few fields.
Initial harvest gave me 64 drops on four fields...I harvested the biggest field just 2 minutes before the event started:cry:

Have pumpkin jam running for now and start using CAC tomorrow morning, when ALL fields will be free for the event crops.

Thank you all for the maths and advice.
    Good Luck everybody

Well so far, the little wizards have only appeared on my magical glade field...not sure why that is, but at least they are plentiful and easy to see there.

MSB, I'm really impressed you managed to become L53 in just a few days. Congratulations!!

Good luck and may the drops be plenty for everybody regardless of participating or not

For me, 159 drops from initial harvest. Had a few pens still out, but not disappointed.:) Hope those drops keep coming!

My initial harvest was 150 Sweet Wrappers with three fields of animals and trees round the outside. I did have two fields of longer crops on comfort fields which weren't quite ready so, after building up to filling four fields with the event crop, I have 260 drops in total. I'm happy with that. I too will work on the event crops and then plant longer crops after I have them all, as my weekend is a little full and long crops will suit me better then. :)

How's this for random? Two fields, with identical planting (44 2x2s of event crop and the rest 1x1 Sunflowers). One field got 8 Candy Puffs, the other one got 19! 8)

I will only be doing the event on this farm so the stress will be far less than usual. I'm determined to enjoy this event! :D

107 is my initial drop harvest here. I'm going to at least level 13 as I really need GB more than anything else. I've got 300 and change GB to go to unlock Moringa. Current Baha level is 159. I just don't know that I'll have the time to go to 33, but will see.

212 inital dropso_O, all time high here. 166 so far on bear farm, still have one field of hazelnuts on CFs to harvest in 15 minutes, hopefully will give as high as the other 2 of same did. No time to farm until tonight, so started my 10 seeds with nothing but Suzee's, and will try to catch up tonight when we get home. Happy trick or treating, everyone!:D

Have only got 2 more then you IrisaDefiance and have done 3 harvests
Have finished LL ...so that doesn't work and have howie do nothings xD...

So these don't do anything for drops either and they have proved to me that they are useless and are a waste of space;)
Have some stables out in Bahamarama for manure and left trees round the edges of my fields

Just emotionlessly going through the grow and throw junks event. I'll completely stop working this event if I even begin to count the millions in forgone CCs due to chasing after rewards which are meaningless for this farm.

Strategy is the same as with any grow and throw event with the exception being use of mill time. The mill is intentionally occupied until the last day of the event. Cat feed milled from milk is more efficient for this farm than milling cat feed will be under the change.

@Nellie_Noodles while I agree toting around the Howie Donuts to each field is a real pain ;)(that's why I only do it for events), the 5% for each (10% for 2, 15% for 3, or 20% for 4) is a real boost to drops. I have 4, so I was able to increase my drop possibility by 20%. Initial drops 220 :) I now have 276 after building up the event crop to use on 1x1's, still have one more harvest today before switching to raspberries overnight. Will have over 300 drops on 1st day :D so foresee no problem getting the 1320 needed. 5% does not make a big change to drops received, but 10%, 15% or 20% can really make a difference.
Why not give it a try and compare one day moving the HD's with one day not and see for yourself:music:

    Oh my.... stupid me!!!!
firstly, I had harvested a whole field just 2 minutes before the event began... and now......harvested 4 fields not realising, that the pumpkin jam was out of time so just got 2 instead of 3 crops....no no no... not my day!!!!!

meba, you didn't miss anything, it was supposed to be Thursday, but arrived early...

Nellie, the howie donuts certainly work, I got 90 drops from one field of rye at event start ;) but I have a lot of howie donuts. With a couple, the effect isn't that noticeable, but a few extra drops here and there adds up over a whole event :)
