I'm so sad that our EN forum has become so strict and unfriendly to it's players and participants. The forum, for me, is at least 50% of the pleasure I get from this game.....maybe more.:p
I'm sorry if I participated in an off topic in a rumor thread. But cats are still not an official breeding animal.....and I have no idea what their pens will look like or what their quests will entail. To instruct us players, that we cannot discuss them anymore seems a bit picky.

It is also unjust to delete a post if what is written isn't 100% about the topic. It definitely makes me anxious to post at all. My joy and enthusiasm is deflated and I'm disappointed that we, as players/customers are treated this way.
The rumor thread is one of my all time favorites. I'm always so excited to see what 12ss12 or esca or anyone else has found out about an upcoming event.

Then there's the super picky deletions of posts of my dear friends farmer_broke and MSB. These are 2 very intelligent and generous players who are always willing to advise other players with strategy and anything else about the game.
Speaking of "game"....that's exactly what this is. It's supposed to be fun! We're not jeopardizing military secrets. Please let us enjoy the game and our co-players and unless someone is completely off course, don't delete their entire post/s.
As one of the mods recently said....." we know how you like to chat about everything and anything.." Yes, thus the forum.;)

I welcome any other player's opinion.

I gave up, so sad indeed, but it is not worth it anymore.

2 years ago we made our own forum and that went well, 33500 messages and not one time we needed to delete/edit player postings. Not once, only a 'talk' but we never removed it. But this little forum was hiding a bit.

Now I gave in and made another fanforum for everyone, but I can not post it here as Neon says I can not.
It is not new, this difference of opinion, for as long as I am on this (and the old) forum (5.5 years) it is an on/off situation.

For some reason all of a sudden one needs to go all out deletion spree. No idea why, but happens from time to time.

Well you know where to find me ;)

I probably won't post any more. It made me really sad to see that the strategy board got locked because of me sharing what all I got from the event. Sorry, I thought that was allowed. And I meant it as friendly chat, not a genuine complaint...

Yes, I posted cat/bats/ and singing flowers.
I do not see where it's anymore offensive than sharks not eating meat.
It's starting to feel like that part of the movie Boone, Why don't you write my report let me read it and then I will know what I said.
Everyone adds to the forum ie: that makes a forum..
It is sad when we have to ask if the proofers will allow.

Same as MSB I been in old Forum and This New Forum. I am too Fully Aware of Forum Rules.

I do agree it is a place to be able to help each other, have fun, Enjoy playing this game. That why i hardly make so many postings, only occasionally post in this Forum that is not off topic.

Such as Grapevine is only really for Speculation Gossip about up coming Events or New Additions to this Game.

Under the Old Forum as MSB had said we have many more Farmers Posting there compared to this Forum. It had an Steam Room and Chat has still forum simply does not have this.

Also so many farmers have been Accessing Their Farm to play Farmerama from 3rd Party Companies no longer able to access this Forum. It is very Sad that this Forum is not as good as it use to be. But will still have to adhere to Forum Rules.

I know Mods are doing all they can, but in all Honestly Mods are spreading more thinly to do uttermost best to help us Enjoy playing this game and using the Forum. Over 6 years playing this game we use to have quiet a few Mods. Sadly not so many Mods. Also Farmerama is now under New Management since Bigpoint has been Brought out by Take Over. So Sad will so many changes over the years.

Then I have to say goodbye to some parts of the forum.
I have no math skills to share, going on other Lang. forums hurts my gray matter, and figuring out the best roads to take in a event is something I can never figure out.

So that means in all reality I have nothing to offer those areas, so you are right, I do not belong.

So to all serious areas, thanks for putting up with my less than helpful posts, adding my two cents when it wasn't needed wanted or desired.

I will stay over in the fluff areas.

Thank-you for showing me where the likes of me belong.

Yes. Its very sad. I standby MSB, CylentLea123, Moraine, farmer_broke, escalonilla, meba091 and many others. You have put to words what we thought and represented us. Thanks from me. Rules can be enforced in many ways. But certainly not in an autocratic way. It is the way in which it is enforced that matters a lot. I feel mass deletion is autocratic. Its mindless and has no legitimization. Shows non application of minds.

To delete a post there should be a strong reason (you are getting rid of something - won't that need a valid reason). Because even if the rules for deletion are applicable, it cannot be invoked for each and every infringement. Deleting is a penalty and should be full and full justifiable. In what way the posts deleted in the strategy thread was harmful to farmerama forum ? Except other than increasing the number of posts. Did those posts not give some useful information to one player or the other. Harmless infringement can be left out
. We too can talk about rules & regulations to the rules & regulations cited for deleting the posts. One of my post that was deleted contained information about FAQ that gives jade wonder stable as reward which in turn might give a deer stall. Is that not a strategy ? Those are ancillary strategies. Not directly connected with the event but arose out of discussions about results of wonder stables given as rewards in the event.

If you find that if anyone has not given a link in the gossip section or posted something that has to be changed, you can intimate it to that person in an friendly way and ask him or her to do it. I find that in several other forums it is done so. Or delete very exactly that part of the post violating the rule.

If there are numerous cat pictures, you could have asked the players themselves to edit his or her post and sure they would have done it with pleasure or you could have removed those posts to gabfest or removed only those posts or those part of posts violative. Just because some posts contained cat pictures, the November rumour thread was closed. Is there any rule that because some posts are not useful (but not abusive) the entire thread has to be closed ? Which rule of farmerama states so ? Is that action of closing the thread not violative of farmerama rules ? The thread had to be reopened, whether nicely put or not.

It is not a crime if sometimes the rules or not followed. People tend to get carried away. That has to be understood.

Any issue raised in help section has to dealt there and should not be taken as personal attack on moderators. Please don't get offended because someone has pointed out the mistakes. If there is lapse on your part, please be magnanimous and change yourselves. No one is infallible. I have taken such a long time to compose this thread. But when I post it, my time of posting will be the one which is the post is posted in this thread and not the time when I started composing this post. That should be for each and every post - for OA, FAQs etc., If any violation is pointed out please correct it. Just blindly sticking on to one's stand won't help and will not solve anything. Do not take them as personal. You represent Farmerama. Rules are for all to be followed.

I feel the answers given in the help section to the questions raised by several players are not sufficient and not justifiable.

I sincerely hope this kind of attitude and behaviour will not repeat itself. Its not good for the forum or the game. This is just a game forum. People do not come here to be serious or to be always on alert. Hope you understand. All said in good intention. I do not know any of the moderators personally and therefore this post is not a personal attack on any of them. It is my wish as how moderators should behave towards us so that we can feel harmonious. Moderators should be more magnanimous than the players as they are the enforcers. Please consider my request. I am still and will always be a friend and fellow player of all moderators.

If I have hurt anyone personally, please forgive. I did not intend to do it.

I posted a new suggestion in the suggestion thread. It will probably be deleted, but maybe if enough of us post before, it might make someone listen?

Just PLEASE keep any postings respectful and appropriate -- that is, it is a suggestion thread, not a feedback thread. (I also posted a brief post in feedback).

    Don't blame yourself.

Basically, we have one or two mods who are extremely linear in their thinking. They mean well, but seem utterly incapable of distinguishing subtleties and distinctions. When that individual/they are either tasked with or take it upon themselves to go through and edit, they do so with an extremely heavy hand. There is no "grey area" or "maybe" in their thinking. Posts are either very strictly adhering to a specific rule or they are out of line and must be deleted. Sadly, this may well be the doom of Farmerama.. at least here in the US.

There have been too many negative changes too soon. Some good things are coming along, but the one thing that has held us together is the forum. Now that appears to be gone.

I guess that is what they want... gaming only and not much in the forum at all.

  18. Many years ago, we had a set of mods who seemed like our friends. We had such fun in the forums, they kept order with a light, but effective touch. The forums, which had far more sections than now - including really fun games and a Steam room and a help forum where players put really good posts on strategy and how to get the best from your farm. They were a really lively place and yes, there were a few posters who seemed out for mischief; on the whole though it was a great place to hang out. I'm sure many of the players who are long-time players, still left will remember the Mod Cave and all those hard-working mods, who helped make the forums enjoyable and interesting. I miss them.

I went away and only kept my farm on life support,(for personal reasons) and came back and everything was different, the forums were like a deserted town - changed beyond recognition. Some familiar player names, but not one of those merry band of mods left. Instead we had mods who were remote and even though mostly polite, didn't have the same rapport with the players. They also didn't seem to understand the nature of the forums.

With all due respect there is more to this game - especially for those of us who've been here virtually since the start, than just following rules laid out by remote and faceless beings (often the mods also have no choice, though sometimes it seems more capricious than valid), as seems to be the case now. Many of us actually love our little farms, and spend quite a bit of hard-earned cash on getting the best from them. We should have some respect in return for our loyalty and shouldn't just be expected to abide by rules which don't make sense or are not even known, nor treated like naughty schoolchildren, merely for not following some rule we didn't know about.

It may be that they've had their instructions and this is how it must be now and I understand things never remain the same - but, the forums are the lesser for the overly tight grip.

I would add my voice to 12ss12 whose posts have been informative and helpful - far and above what the event FAQs say. I enjoyed reading the posts, which I always do after I look at the FAQs. They are also often more accurate than the FAQs, which again with all due respect, often contain errors which can be misleading this can result in players feeling let down.

Posters usually bring a smile to my face, and it's sad that so many of them feel they are constrained now. I also find many of the posters much more helpful, than the FAQS, which do contain contradictory content and it can be very difficult to find anything in the FAQs. It is easier and more interesting to ask a question in the general forums, than in the help forums.

They are also often more accurate than the FAQs, which again with all due respect, often contain errors which can be misleading and (at least one is missing) this can result in players feeling let down. Why don't I mention these erroneous or missing FAQs in the appropriate forum - for the same reason as others, it doesn't seem to be appreciated or more pertinently wanted.

Will this post be allowed, I hope so and I also hope note will be taken of the points raised - but we will see.

The saddest thing is that like Mir, I too don't know if I care about the demise of the forums, in its current incarnation.

Thank you all for being so honest and thoughtful about sharing your feelings of what's been occuring in our forum. I am still sad today...as I will greatly reduce my participation of this forum. It should have remained as some of you said....a fun way to communicate with other players ....and in the old days, felt a real sense of community, laughter and friendship.

Please continue to share whatever thoughts you may have....all are welcome. ;)

Sadly, many have spoken the truth. Not that the truth is sad, but the reality of it.
Now I will only use "this' forum for crucial information that I can't find in the friendly forum
