Cool for Cats Strategy

Here's the FAQ.

Long time no post, I know. Just happened to be awake and saw this one. Had a little time to spare so I figured I'd make a post.

This is a standard breeding event. There are 15 regular steps requiring 33,800 in BV of Cats and their breeds, along with one final step requiring 288,600 in BV.

Here are the strategies I have worked out:

The non-breeding strategy:

• Each regular step will require 76 cats, for a total of 1,140 cats.
• The final step will require an additional 642 cats to complete.
• Total Number of Cats Needed for this Strategy = 1,782

The breeding strategies:

• Each regular step will require 1 Scottish Fold, 1 Calico, and 1 Tabby. (This is 100 BV over the needed amount. This is also 84 cats to breed without skips or BBD)
• OR 1 Scottish Fold, 1 Calico, and 6 Cats. (This is 200 BV over the needed amount)
• OR 13 Tabby. (This is the exact amount with no overage, it will also only require 52 cats)
• The final step can be done in many different ways. Here's one: 1 Maine Coon, 2 Savannah Cat, and 2 Cat.

***Note: It is very hard to arrive at a total number of cats needed for the breeding strategy as it is impossible to calculate for skips and twins.***

My personal strategy is to donate the individual cats themselves and save myself the PF. If there is a BBD, then I will breed only for the purposes of my own individual stock, which will also be largely dependent upon the market price of cats vs. their breeding counterparts. The low starting market values of breeds, and the excitement over two new pink stables (Animal + Product) is likely to drive the price very high and should sustain the high price for a large duration of the event.

So I would need 306 tabbys (13*5*3=195+111) if I would go for the tabby only strategy. But that needs 612 PF, if there are no skips and no BBD

So it will be a cat/tabby mix for me, as far as my PF goes, as 1 tabby saves me more than 1 normal cat (4 cats = 1800, 1 tabby = 2600, Diff 800)

And if we don't have to alternate the different steps between the three "doors", I would do each (left, middle, right) up to the power feed prizes, which would be 10 steps in total to get them all. 60 PF as prizes not to complain about

I notice that the FAQ say colored animals are only available at level 30? When did it change from 21?

    • to supply your Cardboard Box Factories (see below)
    • can be bought/sold in the Market
    • can be donated to quests in the Farmer's Society (including Farming Trophy quest - value ??? CC each)
    • to breed Coloured Cats

• Cat feed
  • Cat food can be made in the Mill.
    It requires:
    • 5 x Oats + 3 x Elderberry fruits
  • Time Required: 7 minutes

Cardboard box factory upgrades are buildable from level 30+

Not a clue where the differences are coming from

 

As usual I will do this event. I will not be using my PFs. Have enough cats to donate. May will do 25 to 50 breeding (animals not yet decided) to see what I will get.

 

Not sure if I will breed or just donate cats, as I have enough basics on both farms (with a few to spare for CCs even), but not much PF on either. With the tantalizing hope of the next neons dancing about my wee brain, I'm thinking I'd like to keep the PF I have for that. Will be hard to resist the boom, tho, which I'm guessing will start Friday as it usually does. Have fun everyone, and good luck to all who decide to breed!

 

I am undecided about this event. I am really low on PF and I'm trying to get a pink panda pen so I would really like to save it for that. But I'll pull out my cat pens, I may be able to donate just cats. I'm about 400 short of being able to just donate cats and use no PF. But I have plenty of time to get them. I really like CRs.

So glad I have been collecting kitties, I have enough to meet the requirements with base animal only! I will probably do some breeding; but plan to conserve the PF for later events.

 

Like wise lots of cats and feed here - for everyone else the strategy of buying 2 fields of pens is definitely a good one. I also find that base/level 1 animals sell higher on the market (and I tend to pick up a few cheeky deals on higher level new breeding animals).

Lots of cats. I thought I'd be okay, but now not so sure. I'll wait for BBD and see what happens.

 

Thanks for Heads up Decree. As we can do this Event using several different methods.

Plan A) Donate All 1782 Cats (Can be done using 128 Cat Kennels in Three Fields harvest them 4 times a day for 4 days but will need 1782 Cat Feeds to do this)

Plan B) Part Donate some Cats and Donate Breeding Cats

Plan C) Donate Breeding Cats from Markets Only (need lots of CC for this)

Plan D) Use PF to Breed Cats, Donate Breeding Cats that you Earn from Breedng. Round of with some Cats !!

Plan A or C does not need any Power Feeds !!

My only problem (I know it's my problem) is the amount of cats involved. I have 785. I've been raising them for months now as the price in my market has gone through the roof to over 10,000 cc each. I simply do not have the ccs to buy enough cats or their breed-ed counter parts for that matter. So I'll have to stick with your plan D and hope for the best.

For those that don't like waste & would like to donate exact amounts: 1 Scottish, 1 Tabby & 16 cats = 33800 EV x 15
For clouds: 1 Maine, 1 Scottish, 3 Calico & 6 cats = 288600 EV

I will only be doing the event on this farm but I am torn on strategy. I have had two fields of Cats out since I finished the last event so I had, as of this morning before harvesting, a tad short of the total requirement. So my original plan was just to do the event entirely with regular Cats and do no breeding at all, saving my PF for an event that really requires it.

I then decided that it would be nice just to do a bit of Cat breeding (50 breedings) just for the fun of it, which would mean I needed another 200 Cats - still no problem as Cats will stay out until I have finished the event, sold all I can and, hopefully, built up my stock of Cats to 1,000 again.

Then I went on a bit of a spending spree - can't resist buying animals by the 100s! Sometimes expensive but it saves so much time in the long run - and we never know when these animals might be needed (and I can make more CCs back on them!). I want to recoup a little of my spending money so I will probably sell a few 100 Cats, use most for the event and maybe supplement the deficit with any low level coloured Cats ... and keep those Cat pens out until I get my 1,000 Cats back in stock.

The two other farms have also had Cats out and will just be profiteering in the market. Baby farm will become virtually inactive after the last Cat is sold, only logging in to mill PF and send gifts until the next breeding/BB event. Chevrefeuille will wait until the Harvest event is over and will then do the same though in addition I will still be trying to level up in all Artisans, participate in any MM and the odd FSQ. Definitely no planting or critter raising - unless it is for breeding purposes. Sounds like a definite plan!

I'm with you illy1996 I'm pulled on how I want to go about this event. I have all the cats I need if I read Mooboy correctly above. However, I would also like to breed. I get the best skips on the first BBD of a new breeding. All others after this one will not give me great results. I need to decide soon....
