My wife and I are both playing this event as far as we can go without purchasing a basket. We simply don't have the funds.

Oh and thanks for reminding me of the seed shacks. Flat out forgot about them.

So far i have got the tomato and the cabbage seed dispenser haven't put these out yet.. and one field
I seem to be in a bit of a muddle in this event for some reason

How do we get rid of the barriers?
What i do like is ... I don't have to get the STICKER

May I know what's the purpose of placing seed dispenser on 2x2 plot to get back 4 seeds if you can yield 5 seeds from planting a seed instead.

 

I wonder about those barriers, too. Probably they'll unlock after we follow to the end of the side paths they force us to take.

The dispensers are good if you're out of seeds, plus they give really high ep. But, if you have seeds and can harvest on time, using a field reduces your growing time because it can be watered. The 2x2 field requires one seed to be planted, and then yields 5, so the net yield of 4 is the same as the dispenser.
I didn't get to do much with this event yesterday, because of the holiday. I'm starting the day with 2 and a half plots. Let's see how far I go. Slow and steady progress seems to be the theme with this one.

 

If you donate all the seeds, your seeds will not be replenished to 5. You have to use your seed dispenser to get the basic number of 4 seeds.

No hurry and no worry is my motto for this event.

You will be given 4 fields of organic tomatoes in the event field in the new place for the event. You can harvest them and therefore you will get 8 organic tomatoes. If you have donated all of them and have no more organic tomatoes, check your inventory there will be this item which is a seed dispenser. You have to place them in the event field and after 3 hours they give you 4 organic tomatoes.

 

Think i might have messed up in this event ...have donated all my tomatoes and have none left and haven't got a field to put out my tomato seed dispenser

Tizz ok have deleted 4 squares and put my tomato seed dispenser into it phewwww another 3 or 4 steps and think i can make another field hopefully

My swap in the train turned out to be a kingfisher which i have 5 of already... i gave away more then I got back ...so have learnt another lesson... and wont be doing that again

 

This game is cute, but very puzzling...also this morning I found myself waving back at the little fox. Soooo cute.

 

FarmerDelight, you spend one seed on the 2x2 plot so you get a total of 4 extra seeds either way. The difference is that a plot can be watered saving time.

 

my approach to this event.

During the day/when I will be around to harvest I will grow the 3 hour crops and overnight the 6 hour ones.

Try to get as much of the 3 hour crops ones done as fast as possible so that I can get the gravel to keep unlocking more plots.

Try to get the first couple of steps of each crop done to unlock the seed of the next.

I havent as yet bought a basket and not sure if I will. So it is slow going. But that just makes it more tactical and im not unhappy with that.

 

waiting for crops on event field is as exciting as watching cracks appear in a dried up puddle after heavy rain. good thing we have more than a few days for this one, and I got a real late start on it with it since it started on Thanksgiving day. I work this weekend as usual so will be planting the cabbage without water to have crop ready to harvest when i get home.

 

Just have the last step for tomatoes to do. I put out my Cabbage dispenser bc I used all my seeds to get the pumpkin seeds & dispenser this morning. Planted all my pumpkin seeds with tomato fillers. Next round I will use some of the pumpkins to get more gravel. I am pleased with the givers and they will be placed in shipwreck to give me a boost over there

 

I get really confused trying to figure out maths in this game, but doesn't 1 1x1 give 2 seeds? So 4 1x1 plots would give 8 seeds in return, where the seed dispenser only gives 4 for the same space and longer time (please, someone, correct me if I've muddled it). Cute as the dispensers are, I believe I'll keep them in inventory for now and find a space for them in the bay once they are able to be placed there.

 

Spots, the seed dispenser is an security measure. If you lost all your seeds, you can get some from it. Because there is no replenishment if your seed gets below 5. Mine is safe i inventory and I have not used it so far. As you said watered field is more useful and to the purpose.

2x2 = 5. You sow one seed, so overall profit will be 4
1x1 = 2. You sow one seed, so overall profit will be 1. For 4 1x1 it will be 4. Same as 2x2.
1x2 = 3. You sow one seed, so overall profit will be 2. For 2 1x2 it will be 4. Same as 2x2.

Whatever way you plant the result would be same. We don't use CAC. So results for larger, medium or smaller plots will be the same.

You can water the fields and therefore get more seeds in less time than a dispenser. Sowing in fields are better than seed dispensers

mmmmm....if you use 1 seed (2x2) to get 4 - and you use 4 seeds to get 4 (1x1)....don't you save 3 seeds by using 2x2's??
Or am I 'befuzzled'?? (Thanks for that great word, spots! I just had to use it!)

 

Yes, you are right farmlily3. If you use 2x2 plots, you can put the other 3 seeds to some other use. That's what I am doing.

The only benefit to the dispensers is more EP (44 on tomatoes in 2x2 field, 560 from tomato dispenser). If you are looking for EP.
