Yes, At the end of one of the paths when you give a gravel it unlocks a barrier. Just follow the path and you will see that it highlights. Hope this helps. I'm also going to switch to 2x2"s. Thanks 12.

Waiting, waiting, waiting for 3 hrs to pass quickly on the farm...yeah, right! [IMG] Then I can harvest 4 gravels from the givers and pass the first barrier, yippee! I switched to 2x2s once I got the doh! knocked out, and also changed as many 1x1 into 1x2 as possible following the same line of thinking - 1 seed nets 2 back, vs. 2 seeds nets 2 back for 2 1x1. Did I get it straight this time! Feel free to slap the doh! out of me again if I mixed it up, just got up a few minutes ago, not quite human yet.:p

Yup, nellie, no options there. But hey, what's a viking without a sticker! [IMG]

For anyone who is still confused by what plot size to use, I find it's useful to think of plots this way:
When you harvest a plot it gives you back the original seed plus one for each square the plot takes up.
A plot which takes up 1 space gives 1+1 = 2 seeds when harvested, a plot which takes up 2 spaces gives 1+2 =3, and a plot which takes up 4 spaces gives 1+4 = 5

So it doesn't matter how you divide up a field into plots. You're always going to get back all the original seed you sowed plus one seed for each square of the field. Of course that changes when you have Pumpkin Jam or CAC but it holds true here.

No Crafting buffs work on this field

Some path we unlock only gives one 1x1 plot -.- Are you kidding me?

Poppy said right at the beginning of event she was going to use 2x2's where it was possible so I did the same thing. ;):p:) Done with tomatoes, working on step 5 for cabbage(that will be done in a half hour), step6 for pumpkin, and step 2 for aubergine:D Even if we can't use regular manure at least we can water them;):p:p:D Nellie, I thought of you when I got my sticker;);)

Yes, 1x2 plot gives 3 seeds total, and 2 1x1 plots give 4 seeds, but each plot takes 1 seed, so you only actually gain 2 seeds from the 1x1s and it costs 2 seeds to plant, whereas a 1x2 gains 2 seeds and only costs 1 seed to plant. So in effect you lose 1 seed by using 2 1x1 in space that can use a 1x2. Multiplied over a whole field, that's a lot of seeds. Of course, during normal event where buffs would be in play, 1x1 is the better option, but here I think I'll stick with the 2x2 and then 1x2 where can.:)

    Got the sticker too.....
there is so much time left, that I don't worry about only getting a 1x1 plot from the gravel.

Whereever possible I have put 2x2 plots.

Have 42 single fields in the following order: 6 fields 2x2, 3 fields 1x2 and 12 fields 1x1 (mostly on the outside as no other wants to fit.

this is an easy peasy relaxed event. I like it.

I know, those 1 plot per gravels really stink.-.-

Also grateful for the laid back approach to this one, clonahmon.:)

My strategy didn't start out very well, I forgot about the dispensers.
Can anyone enlighten me about when the fields open up for extra crop growing??
Bad enough I'm watching paint dry with this one.
I bought a cloud row and put two of my extra givers on it but it shows I need 3 more (presumably from the other baskets?) Wah? I put those on my fields to get the gravel and dung...what's with that cloud row? do I have to buy more baskets?
dazed and confused with this one....anyone able to clear this up for me?

You are getting givers, when all steps are done.
The path will be extended with the steps of the tasks.
    1.) grow the crops
2.) give the crops to the goats and get gravel (but not in all steps)
3.) give gravel to the fox and she will step forward and free up new land from the grass.

    Good Luck

saturnia22 You should be able to put some of the givers that you have in storage on the row. You don't have to use the ones from the event.

I've been so busy since the event started that I did kind of a ditzy thing :p I totally missed that the plots under the farm map sign had been unlocked! I didn't notice until a few harvests later. Oh well, things happen. Anyway, I thought I'd share my ooops in case anyone missed those plots, too.

Spots, I think you're taking the seeds used for planting into account twice. You don't lose any seeds by using 1x1 spaces. Also by your calculations you wouldn't get any gains at all using 1x1 plots!

Imagine you have only 4 squares in your field and only 4 seeds.
If you use a 2x2 field you plant 1 seed and have 3 left. Harvest is 5 seeds. Total seeds after harvest = 8
    Using 2x1 fields you plant 2 seeds and have 2 left. Harvest is 3 seeds per plot. Total seeds 2 + 3 + 3 = 8
    Using 1x1 fields you plant all 4 seeds. Harvest is 2 seeds per plot. Total seeds 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 8.
You haven't gained or lost out either way!

Larger fields are best for bulking up when you don't have enough seeds to cover the space using 1x1s. Otherwise there's no difference.

Progressing fine. Completed steps 2, 4, 3, 6 of tomato, cabbage, pumpkin and eggplant. Is eggplant, aubergine and brinjal one and the same ? And I got the sticker.

    Hail Queen Meba !

But I failed in the San-gigantica Express.
    I couldn't get a sticker !

    Interims report:
Tomatoes - finished - goat has left the stand LOL
Cabbage - 3 steps to go
pumpkin - 2 steps to go
aubergine - only two steps done, 6 to go.
Got the sticker and 8 fields away from the second gift.

Won't then go forward any more, as there is enough time to grow everything needed without having more fields.
any additionl gravel (if there is some) will then be exchanged.
If I finish before the event ends, I will put out all four veggie-stalls and grow just aubergines to get additional veggies up to the end of the event to be exchanged then into EP/CCs.
Even when they are not giving a lot, its still better than nothing, and as the event field is not interfering with preps for the firefly bingo, it doesn't hurt. Just a few more clicks.

    Happy Farming and good luck

Wow that Fast clonahmon. Sure got lots of Time on your hands ;) This is Lovely very laid back event so not need to rush this event for me just striding it out having fun with it too.

Note: Those who finish this Event Early. Just to get some EP and CC is best to stick to growing Pumpkins they give 6 EP and 6 CC per 3 Hour Crop :p
