Hi! So glad you both liked the poem! It can be copied and made into an art print or framed for your wall as a keepsake, etc., through photobucket if you'd like something like that. Photobucket has lots of interesting things you can do...and they aren't expensive either. They are great for helping to decorate a new home!

As Mirah is new to this country - have you given some thought to introducing her to it firsthand, instead of through TV?? She wouldn't have time to be bored if you showed her around, took a few road trips - before it snows - and helped her get used to all the things that make this country what it is...just a suggestion that you've probably already thought of and done.
Just wait till it snows!! Hmmmmm....snowball fights, sledding, building a snowman together........ice fishing! LOLOL! NOT, for Mirah!...but what a great time this is for you two!! Just going to the store together for candles and mulled cider to warm up after being in the snow, will be wonderful memories for you as you grow together!!
This can/will be the best time of your lives - make the most of it...and leave most of the TV for when you grow older!!(Just my opinion, of course!)

How is Mirah getting used living in the US? Is it easy for her?
I am sure you make it a lot of easier for her

 

The first thing Mirah has said once we have reached USA, is that it's so cold here. The weather was only 45F that day. I can tolerate cold weather because I am used to it. But she can't since in the Philippines it NEVER gets cold. I believe the weather is always 70F at night back in the Philippines.

One problem that Mirah has is how some Americans talk so fast or very quiet. It can make it hard for her since you need to remember that English is her second language. Other than that, she does like how many things about the USA. But of course she also misses her country a lot. To be honest, I even miss being in the Philippines. It's just such a big difference and better in some ways. I guess you can say both countries are better in different ways. Anyway, in about one or two years from now. Mirah and I plan to travel to the Philippines together and visit for at least one month.

By the way, Mirah and I did visit many places in fact. We went to three different parks and went fishing twice. I caught a very big bass on the second fishing trip. Which was in the Susquehanna river. It was around 15 inches and 5 pounds. What I as thinking though, it's better to go outdoors first. Because like @farmlily3 said, soon it will snow here which will prevent from going outdoors. We did visit two different malls and been to about 20 different stores.

Just one thing, I need to limit my spending so I can still be saving money for the future
We had to buy many things since I moved in the apartment right across from my dad's house.

Solo these were exactly the problems I thought she may have(the language and the weather). But with time she will get used to them completely.
Snow? I want snow too haha isn't it soon to get snow? Oh no it is like you have answered me you and other a lot of times. I had the belief that it only snow in the winter Maybe it will be Mirah's first time of experiencing snow?
Good thing to live across your father. I am sure he will help you in any way he can.

it's already a little late, but still congratulations on your wedding.

Some TV shows do help with language. Like "between the lions", "reading rainbow" and lot's of the children shows on PBS. It did the trick for me and patient answers from my better half on other shows/news etc. (Since it is so hard to look something up in the dictionary if you just hear a word.)
Give it some time and she will feel at home.

 

Solo, how does Mirah like our stores and Malls??

 

Mirah said that our malls are small compared to the Philippines.
Also she said the malls lack shoppers. In the Philippines they are packed with people no matter which time of the day.

Mirah also said that everything in USA is expensive

solo - That is how a newly married man should be......too busy to post! Mirah is probably noticing many differences from her country to ours. I wish you both well for your 1st Christmas together.

 

I share Brooke's sentiments, and thank you for taking the time to answer....and what interesting answers! Love to hear the differences in our Countries!! I was surprised to hear the differences in our Malls!
Her observations are interesting, and I hope you might occasionally have a little bit of time to share more of them - IF you want to, of course!
