I have just been doing a long overdue update on their website and came across this picture, which I had lost due to a computer crash. This was Lotte last year. She was a couple of ounces less than Freya at birth...

No wonder I panic in May!!! Both are healthy bouncing reindeer now...

In fact Freya, needs a little "putting in her place" as she has just decided that rearing on her hind feet and boxing is a fun game.. as a baby it is cute BUT!!! :) I do love reindeer that aren't frightened of humans BUT then discipline, rules and training need to come into force or most reindeer are a little scared of their owners... not my way but finding the balance takes tactics!!.. :)

You are so right!! As a baby it may be cute but as she gets older not so much anymore!:p
Especially if she is going to out in public! She is really just trying to show Santa she is getting ready
    to fly!xD;)
I also just love that picture of baby Lotte, she was Sooo tiny!

Ever have one of those days??
We visited a nursing home, had a lovely time (but a good job we took a groundsheet). Delighted to see our retired vet there, visiting his mother in law, (we miss him), he too was delighted to see his ex-charges and in such fine health) BUT when we left - someone (either hubby or I) had left the jockey door unlatched on the trailer.... luckily hubby saw Mischa with head and shoulders poking through open door "tasting the breeze" like a dog, through the wing mirrors. The problem then was stop vehicle smartish but would they jump out once stationary??? Luckily they didn't...
Deep breaths and on we travel to a nursery, but the troubles weren't over. The lights on our vehicle failed on the way to next appointment at a nursery school...
My blood pressure is through the roof this evening. We did manage to get home before dark but now to sort an Auto Electrician as "Santa's Sleigh" needs to be road worthy!!!
At least we had this wonderful Christmas card to come home to from our last year's Bride, Sarah Baker and you may recognise her bridesmaid and best man!!! [IMG];)

A lovely aside, at the nursing home, a lady with macular degeneration, who doesn't get involved in anything they organise - we took Kata to her chair and guided her hand to stroke and let Katya gently nuzzle her for reindeer moss.. said lady was in tears of delight as too was the nursing home owner... Makes stresses worthwhile... BUT quite how "Santa's Sleigh" will be on the road again tomorrow... who knows... problem for the morning!!!!!

Wow karen, I too am in tears reading about Katya and the nursing home patient:cry: how wonderful for you all!:inlove:
Omg that must have been so scary seeing Mischa's head and shoulders poking through the door of a moving trailer! Your brain must have been going 90 miles a minute trying to figure out how to best handle that problem! And then to have the lights fail as night is approaching is now at a point where (my brain) would be exploding as I like to be in control of things lol I am glad you got home safely and hopefully the car can get sorted out quickly!
And finally I just :inlove::inlove::inlove: the Bride and Groom Christmas card!...just lovely!;)

And tonight I am now fuming!!! Sorry, so many NUMPIES out there...

I had "someplace" in UK asking to buy reindeer from me earlier this year, as they had lost 4 this year... I did a little research and sold the boys to lovely friends in Scotland instead..
Yesterday they put a shout out that another one wasn't well... Asked for a picture... this was what came back 24 hours later.... I immediately pointed out that he needed immediate vet help as he was VERY ill and on deaths door. Now let's see, my reindeer is dying but lets do a selfie to show what he looks like - I don't need a picture of YOU!!!! COME ON... he has since died... Needless to say they WON@T be having an of my reindeer babies!!! Yet another rant over!

Well Karen, how VERY,VERY sad that "another reindeer" has had to die in the hands of obviously very stupid, uncaring humans! When you said that they had already lost 4 a huge red flag went up in my not so trusting brain! I am SOOOO happy that Thor and Loki are in Scotland, with people who love and care for them! There is no money on God's green earth that would make me sell an animal to uncaring people! Now I have to go try to get that sick image of that poor reindeer out of my head!

Karen you are so right not to let those people have any of your reindeer babies. I can not believe that someone would be so stupid and selfish as to be more interested in doing a selfie than getting immediate help for their ill reindeer. I agree with what sanddollar has said about the nursing home visit and Mischa and the trailer. I love the picture of the best man and bridesmaid in the Christmas card. I also hope that you can get "Santa's Sleigh" fixed again soon.

Fingers crossed that you get Santa's Sleigh repaired and on the road again. Dead reindeer, *shakes head*. Lovely pic of the wedding party. So happy you could get some sensory joy for the lady with the vision problem. It's probably why she doesn't participate in other events as most are most likely visually oriented.

As for the trailer door. I was driving in Yellowstone one year and saw a bunch of horses (about a dozen), trotting down the road toward me. An outfitter didn't secure the back door on his stock trailer and was turning around to come back to try to collect them before they went too far. Thankfully, your reindeer really like their trailer. :)

That photo broke my heart! They should know something is wrong when they lose that many reindeer! Very grateful you are careful to whom you sell; you are a great reindeer parent.

Lovely story about the nursing home - what a difference you made to that lady! So glad the trailer door issue ended well; that was certainly a frightening moment. Thanks for sharing the bride and groom photo with their wedding party!

We were doing a private event for the County Police Force this evening... A cracking video was taken of reindeer (Mischa & Katya)walking through quadrangle to their location... but something has changed on FB and I can no longer share what others have posted.. So all I have is Mischa climbing the fence to meet her adoring public, not best photo... :(

Sleigh still broken.. :( Hoping auto electrician waving a Magic Wand on Monday, in the meantime having to sort another sleigh as these reindeer HAVE to be at their booking locations...... You just can't do a premier without the leading ladies or men... Just jumping through hoops to make sure the are where they need to be... ;) Stress! :)

Oh Bless you and hubby!:inlove: I know how important keeping your bookings are and how everyone who has booked your beautiful reindeer really want them to show, so, oh yes the PRESSURE IS ON!!:p
Well sending good wishes that everything sorts it self out real soon and you and hubby need to take some deep breathes and try to relax, if that fails, go have a stiff drink of one of your favorite beverages!
    ;):p

It's something that you don't really think about until you are on the "sharp end"...
Event advertises Santa and his reindeer... Okay Santa is the "Big Man"... but if Santa is ill/breaks down or whatever... someone else can quickly put on that suit and save the day... but Santa's reindeer (or any reindeer) can not be replaced at last minute... if we don't show... law suits??? ruining whole event??? no replacements??? It's really scary!!! :(

I just wish that I lived closer to where you take your reindeer to events. I would love to see them in real life, wearing all their Christmas finery. In the meantime I look forward to all your posts and beautiful photos. I do hope that your "sleigh" problems get sorted out on Monday.

Two events tomorrow. Both private parties, first only an hour, (thinking of Boris and Freya) and then changing to Mischa and Katya for second 3 hour booking.. have 2 hours between but travelling and swap over will be tight for us.. I will let the reindeer decide who wants to load up and pull out the ones that don't fit possible plans!!! ;)
Boris has his new head collar.. :)
