Strategy - New Baha content

Does anyone have suggestions on a strategy for those with limited GB?

With the recipes as rewards, I would guess the best strategy would be to go for devil's claw and cumin first, then the koala statue and then the rest. If however, you do not have the required level for the recipes, what would be the best way to go?

Edit: I forgot the ebony fruit for the silver flame incense recipe... that would probably come before the koala...

Any suggestions and thoughts would be much appreciated.

 

I'd personally suggest unlocking the Eucalyptus tree first if you can only unlock one thing. This will allow you to start milling food for the Koala right away, and with so many animals on Baha now, food prices can be quite lofty. Then you can store, or market both the fruit and food. If you have enough for the Koala as well, I would suggest that second. This combination will also allow you to take advantage of the store discount for both items if it fits your fancy. From there, unlock whatever is needed to complete bubble trouble for the potion (if you have Spa 4). Then unlock what is needed for Medical Marvel, and Fast and Furious quest to get at those extra GB's which will help you unlock more.

The potions, while fun, just aren't needed, and in most cases you will actually lose more CC than you'll get back by trying to take them to the market.

 

Thank you for that very insightful answer. I currently have 35GB's so I'll unlock the Eucalyptus first (I've unlocked Kiwi a while ago) and then the Koala. My last GB's were spent on the Toucan so I will at least be able to reach the Koala . After that, I will wait and see about the unlocking order. My Spa I'm still leveling up so I'll wait on the items needed for that.

Hi Brakenjan84. Hi Decree, I bet all your temple critters have been unlocked.
Unlocking the Eucalyptus tree will give time to accumulate the fruit, but unless BP is making an exception, the food does not appear in the mill before a temple animal is unlocked.
Before unlocking an animal I check the FAQ and unlock the ingredients if I need to grow them.
Unless I have extra CC, then I unlock the animal and buy feed on the market. I like the animals (most of them).
Nothing will show up on the market or in the mill until unlocked, like levels for main.

I think totally we need 83 GBs to unlock all the new update items. Am I right ?

 

Hi joanc123, thank you for that explanation. Luckily I'll be able to unlock both the Koala Habitat and the Eucalyptus tree so I'll be able to mill the food.

12ss12, yes, 83 GB's is correct (as long as you've unlocked the things that come before the new items).
Cumin = 5GB
Ladies' Fingers = 6GB
Devil's Claw = 7GB
Jovellana = 8GB
Protea = 10GB

Total GB for crops = 36 GB

Eucalyptus = 12GB
Ebony = 15GB

Total GB for trees = 27 GB

Koala = 20 GB

Total for all new items = 83 GB

 

I'd still go for the eucalyptus tree first if I could only open one thing. That would allow me to save some eucalyptus for when I did unlock koalas, but also sell some, as I'm sure it will be in demand. People will be needing lots of eucalyptus to make feed for their super cute koalas

My farm could open everything right away, but that would leave me with only 7 GBs. I'm always afraid to part with too many GBs for fear that something I really want will pop up before I can build them back up again. What to do? Maybe I'll just go for the trees and the koala for now.

They are super cute, aren't they. Not enough here for everything.

Thanks Brakenjan84, for checking it up. I did not unlock the last Habanero crop and save that GBs in anticipation of Baha content update. So I now have 96 GBs and can unlock all the new content but not the Habanero crop.

 

I'm still a bit away from Habanero, the last crop I unlocked was Cactus, 11 to go and then Habanero... Not to mention all the trees and stalls in-between but I'm just unlocking things here and there, as needed. I'll get there, eventually...

 

I will def be unlocking the eucalyptus and koala And 1 of those flowers. So glad they now have 2 more flowers so when I use the CR to reduce time I won't have to pick the same old 2 that were there. We really need another field over there

 

Decree, I agree with everything you wrote except for this:

If I've read it right, the Incense and Bubble Tea give +1 animals when harvesting the Darklight Fireflies and Koalas, respectively. That effectively upgrades normal pens to orange, and orange pens to pink! That seems like a pretty impressive buff to me and anyone who can make Koalas but not the bubble tea would be wise to look at buying some.
I'll be producing lots of both and selling any I don't need. I expect the price will be higher than the very reasonable requirements.

 

The sliver flame buff is very nice as it lasts 12 hours meaning we can get more than one harvest of darklight fireflies from that buff and it only uses a silver slot. Does that mean BP is going to ask for dark fireflies in an event/new quest?

The bubble tea only lasts for 6 hours so we could only get one harvest of koalas from it and it takes a gold buff slot.

I like that they only need fruit/crops to craft and no products.

Don't forget, Vials of Growth shorten Baha tree growing time. Tiki timers shorten Baha Vegetable growing time. The Flower cloud row shortens flower growing time, including on Baha, and the Scarecrow cloud row gives +1 vegetables.

 

Can someone please give me the link for the new recipes. For some reason I just can't seem to find them...I'm sure they are probably right in front of me.

We need to be level 4 to get the new recipes...I just began level 2. Thank you decree and everyone for the great advice. I had enough GB's to buy the eucalyptus, and cumin. Now I have no GB's, but am happy I can grow food for the Koalas when they arrive. Great Advice! Thank You.

Thank you Decree, I could not find that information also. I don't see the "rule of two quest". I wonder is that still to come...or maybe it's the "Fast and Furious" quest, but it doesn't look like a recipe.
It will be a long time before I can get to level 4, so I won't need it for a long time anyway.
