Can I ask a new question?

Don't write and don't use a calculator, only folding in your mind. Take 1000. Added 40. And then added 1000. Added 30. Plus 1000. More plus 20. Plus 1000. And plus 10. What sum?

Of course, anyone can play. :)
I think the answer is 4000. My reasoning is, if you take 1000 you start with -1000. :p

The dog climbed up a tree by 4 legs and got down by 3 legs. How did this happen?

    I am right ! Yeah ! :D

Mūtta cakōtari = Akka in Tamil (That's elder sister) Just like didi in Hindi.

A child first crawls. So it has 4 legs and as it grows it has 2 legs and when it becomes very old. It needs a walking stick. So then it becomes 3 legs. If you can equate man to dog and climbing tree to life.:p right or wrong ?

    My question -

A monkey, a squirrel, and a bird are racing to the top of a coconut tree. Who will get the banana first, the monkey, the squirrel, or the bird?

    I like this one!! It's a trick question :)

If you can find me a coconut tree that gives bananas, I'll give you a $100 ;)

So, none of them gets the banana :)

Thank you sis.:) May be you can & others too teach me one word of their language in every post you post here. So I can learn more of Hindi or Kannada or other languages. Or can start a new thread in Gabfest section exclusively for it.

    Brakenjan84,
You are right. :D:) You answered such a tricky question. Someone leaked you the answer.:cry:xD Just kidding.:) Congrats.

Now I am going to ask another very very very tricky question. So think hard and answer.

Mary’s father has 5 daughters – Nana, Nene, Nini, Nono. What is the fifth daughters name?

Thanks 12ss12! Nope, no one gave me the answer, it's just very similar to a joke/question we were taught in sunday-school - How many of each animal did Moses let onto the ark? Moses wasn't near the ark... ;) This taught me to read questions VERY carefully :)

:D Another trick one that I got immediately but I'll give someone else a chance to answer :p Just a hint, it's not another 'N'... xD

My mother tongue is Afrikaans, very similar to Dutch, so I'll tell you how to say/write older sister in Afrikaans - 'ouer suster', or we just shorten it to 'ousus'. The 'ou' from 'ouer' is pronounced the same as the o from okay, and the 'er' after 'ou' is pronounced the same as 'her' but with a silent 'h'. 'suster' is pronounced very similar to the English 'sister', just the 'u' is pronounced almost like when you say uhh...

You're right, it is, but I must be honest, I'm a caucasian from South Africa and although I know a bit about the various cultures in our country, I don't know enough to really compare it with others.

A guy is driving on a highway when his car breaks down. He gets off the car and sees that all 4 lug nuts are missing from his front left wheel. Desperate, he sits down and starts thinking how to get home safely. Just 5 min later, a biker passes by and gives him an advice that enables the driver to move the car safely to the nearest car service. What was the advice?
