I only hope that this is not another impossible event to finish.

So far I have only finished the 2nd area (2nd gift box) of the slide bar and although there are 87 hours left the area in the slide bar gets longer to each consecutive box.

Comments above say drop rate has changed but I haven't noticed it yet -- will pay more attention to it next time I harvest. As far as SOS Thread I haven't had much luck with it -- receiving 1+2 extra drops just doesn't make the difference in whether you complete the event or not in most cases.

    Anyway good luck to everyone.

UPDATE 1: 60/125 kebobs with 35 hours left.

UPDATE 2: I wanted the Cloud Row so I stayed up all night and was able to get the Cloud Row on all my farms. The last one was finished with 8 minutes left in the game. Considering the amount of computer time I put in I think this event was "medium-high" not "medium".

I had to switch to SG on the regular 2x2's to get them done in time. It would be nice if MM had comfort fields.

This event also took a lot of HHC's when I had the 1x1's planted. Prefer it when MM runs with other events so that CAC and HHC's do double duty.

I did manage to get an Axolotl on one of my fields but I am not sure if it was from this event or one the quests I was working on. I also received an Ice Fir Tree from the treasure chests on this farm.

Need to get some rest before the next one starts on the 22nd.

The drop rate has not changed. Shooger added the following to the Event announcement today.

    Howdy Farmers,

We have passed on your feedback regarding the disappointment with the low drop rate for the Event. The Game team have discussed this and come to this solution:
All drops received will be doubled from now onwards. As this was to be implemented quickly, the drop rate will behave in the following manner: If you receive 6 drops for example, your drops logs will show 6, but in your inventory you will have 12.

  3. Nim24 - the drop rate has not changed, it's true; however, I have now got twice as many blood sauce in my inventory when I go to mill the kebabs. I was getting between 13 and 15 per full harvest, this one i just did produced 36 in the inventory. Unfortunately, I think it is too little too late to save this event for most people.

I don't think even with the increased rate, I will get to the end, as I'm not even half way through the second part.

What I don't understand is how the devs couldn't foresee this, the game is over seven years old, and the drop rate issue is a long-standing one. By restricting it to one field, they should have upped the drop rate to compensate. Why did it take until a day or so after the players all complained to do something ?

I'm very thankful that you've decided to increase the drop rate for this event. I've been able to complete every event for a while now, and this one had me very worried, even with a lot more help from my neighbors than I usually require. I know for a fact that I can dedicate more time than a lot of other players, and if I was having doubts, then those players who have even a normal amount of offline obligations would have had no chance of completing this event without a lot of event manipulation (Blood-Tomato Sauce purchases, or Super Grow on multiple waves of crops). Having said that, I'd like to add my critique of the event itself.

I'm very happy with the quality of the graphics. The bats look fantastic, and are fun to interact with. I'm also very happy with the ability to turn them off so I don't have to stare at them when I have nothing to feed them. I'm pleased this event made use of the underutilized Moonlight Madness field. Many of my fellow farmers and I truly enjoy this field, and I know we would like to this field with increasing frequency. I also want to send a sincere thank you to whomever approved the use of Golden Bananas as a prize as they can be very frustrating to come by. I'm also a huge fan of the open ended reward system which allows farmers to use all of their event crops and drops to continue to gain additional prizes. I value this system of reward over the conversion for spare event items as it extends the event for farmers who want to challenge themselves and still see some benefit gained for their work.

I feel this event could be improved upon in a few areas. The first improvement would be strategy and options. This event lacks both, it's a very straightforward "grow, collect, and mill" event, if it weren't for the reward system which allows for players to continue after the base rewards have been completed, this event would be very monotonous. The only two decisions which need to be made for this event are whether or not to participate, and how much of it to complete.

My next two complaints hurt the entire value of the game as a whole.

The first complaint being the length of the crop. Medium length crops are terrible for event design as they hinder the drop rate negatively (a major issue with this event), and they are difficult for the average farmer to plan around after considering their offline responsibilities. Often times, the medium and short crops will sit on the farm ready for harvest while farmers are at work, or taking care of their children. This wastes productive game time and a similar argument could be made surrounding the decision to reward instant machinery instead of handing out coupons. It is becoming increasingly clear that the developers are focusing on the wrong aspects of what makes this game valuable.

The second issue is the large prize pool and the relative percentages associated with how these prizes are awarded. There really is no need for two different prizes of the same item, and in the case of this event, over half of the items are duplicated. This dilutes the pool of prizes and makes it a disappointing grind. Furthermore, players are not encouraged to keep playing when they receive the lesser of two identical prize items, would you be happy to hear you won the lotto only to find out all you won was the cost of the ticket? Probably not, and that's what happens when someone is rewarded with the lesser of two identical prize items. This diluted system forces players to choose between participating in an event which may lead them in a struggle to get rewarded with items they believe would help them improve farm the most versus not participating at all. In both cases players are let down and left bitter with declining views of events and the game as a whole.

Probably because players complain about the drop rate every event regardless if the event is doable or not, so they really need to wait to see what is actually happening. Often times the complaints aren't substantiated and most players really only want easier events. Fortunately for us, this time, there was a problem and the developers made the changes required for players to succeed.

With this new improved drop rate this event has now become one of my favorites. I think I was going to finish just fine anyway - but I am fortunate enough to be able to farm pretty much all day, most days, and so if I was having trouble, then people with lives had no chance - so I am very glad to see that all the voices were listened to.

MM has been, from the beginning of my time here, one of my very favorite features. The addition of the Moonlight Field is one of the best things ever to happen to the game. This event has fantastic graphics, the bats are precious, the fanged chests are just adorable. The prizes are great - with the exception, as noted, of the immediately activated harvester, which I have twice gotten right before logging out for the evening. Normally I don't care, because I keep the harvester all the time so it really doesn't matter - but due to negligence on my part I missed buying the monthly thing this last time around and so I am using my carefully hoarded coupons, so missing out on harvester time really makes me cranky. However, everything else about this event, including the names of things, is spot on!

MM-events has never been a great hit with me, BUT I think I like this event.
    • All players have equal chance of completing this as it's on it's own field
    • The bats pops up instantly when you need them - no waiting
    • BP saw the flaw with the drop rate, admitted it and fixed it. That really impressed me!
    • Drop seem to be okay now
    • Low crop requirement, which enables me to continue on some other much needed MM. Two thumbs up for this
    • Prizes seem to great compared to the crop needed.
    • Drops drop from all MM- stuff
    • The medium rating seem to be spot on, it's not easy, but it's doable for a lot of players.

Produce the crops in 2.5 days and the drops in 9 days..well...332 drops and 41 hours left I ain't gonna finish. for such a low crop demand I should have been suspicious. no way will I finish such a small event so I'm doing up extra of my other crops. The drops are 8, 11, sometimes 12; with the handicap of no comfort field and real life work. what is this? a person needs 750 so they should have shelled out 125 for each player per day playing and if you wanted to go for extras then buy tomato sauce. We shouldn't have none of this desperate race to the finish via having to buy.

I actually prefer that the event crop take less time as it allowed me to grow regular MM crops in addition to the event crop.

I hope you are right in your assessment but there are other factors that should be considered. When players start an event like this they start with the event crop* and then after they have lots of event crops in inventory but are short on drops they switch to other crops they need to finish their Farmers' Society quests and to get a higher drop rate. This was all done before the correction to the drop rate was made. So now the problem is that they no longer need those crops that take longer to harvest but might have to plant them anyway just to get the higher drop rate. Right now I am trying it with the plants that I need to finish the quests but may have to switch to others just to get the drops. If this wasn't taken into account when BP made the change it should have been.

*the exception is when planting crops overnight -- those are the ones that have a long duration before harvest because they can grow while you sleep.

NOTE: I have been playing for a while now and when a "medium" rated event is offered I can usually finish it with time to spare using the above strategy. This event I am currently less than halfway finished (60/125 kebabs).

I agree with your other comments regarding the prizes and # of fields. The only time the # of fields makes a difference is when the event can be played on all fields in an area or the entire farm and a player has not opened them all yet. Prizes are nice -- just hope I can get that Cloud Row.

I just got halfway through. The drop rate still seems a bit low. Imagine if it had not been "fixed" I am also usually able to complete "medium" events, but I don't think I'll finish this one. I don't think the prizes that you get along the way are worth the effort, bit it would have been nice to get the cloud row. I agree with joanc - the change was just not good enough.

Yup, thats preciously the other issue...i have so many MM farmer society quest opened...that I would love to finish...I still have some from 5 yrs ago that are still lingering...so the fact that MM only comes around once a month...they should have made some exception and have all the fields partake in the drops and not limit to MM field only. I will say I never considered to stop growing the event crop until I read the above...great idea...duh to me -.-...I think I have 4000 event plants which are useless when I can be planting something else...thnks for that strategy folks.

I will also say despite my previous post that its a cute event...the prizes are hardly worth the effort.

The word Repetitive springs to mind for this event ....got 5000 and 10000 ep nearly every time i donated to the bats..I make enough of this daily So nothing exciting
TOO much work for very little reward

Thought this event would be fun ...the drop rate has't made it that

And as for doubling the drops ...I think my farm was forgotten ...My drops have been the same from day one ...Pathetic is the word for them

Harvesting as soon as the crops are grown ....apparently helps give better drops
Maybe Fixing the Lag in this game would be very helpful in finding out if this actually works

Yet another event where I will have all the givers and no hope of the cloud row. Makes me angry every time I harvest my other cloud rows. I work from a home office, so I'm able to play throughout the day and monitor my crops closely. If my strategy was causing my failure to complete an event, I'm okay with that. But I'm not okay when I expend significant effort to play and earn and come away short every time. Nice to get a few trees and a stable, but prizes otherwise weren't that compelling. Another pay to play event that fell short.

    ,
However, they don't. It may well appear that way, but I'm about halfway through and as expected there is no way I will finish - fortunately, this cloud row doesn't offer enough for me to spend hard cash on it. I don't have the time or inclination to spend money on this event. The low drop rate, doubled in the barn hasn't made that much difference to me, since my maximum harvest due to real life commitments is two a day.

As I said in a previous post, this isn't a new game and after approximately seven years, the devs / back room boys should have foreseen the problems with one field / long time to harvest / normal drop rate = very low drop rate. Fixing it by doubling after complaints merely means they are reacting not planning. Yes, I understand players have been complaining about low drop rates for years, surely that at least should have alerted them to a potential issue.

New players, players below a certain level may have the same field and crops as high level players, but some will spend on supergrow and perhaps have the time to harvest at will; others will struggle with just water and / or manure, to say nothing work / family taking precedence. I'm sure they will be pleased with the individual prizes, as they are helpful to those who don't have packed out inventories like me, or don't just shrug when they see yet another 1hr effectively useless harvester, few thousand EP/CC which are useful, but hardly worth the efforts.

There are many things to commend this event and I still give it a 7/10, but I do hope they will take a lesson from it and in future not just think - players will compensate by buying baskets or speedy grow. I have, now put my moonlight field back to normal crops, and will use up the event crops I have, as there's no point any more in trying to achieve an impossible goal.

The drop rate may be 'random' but when another of my farms gets 14 drops (doubled to 28) and this farm gets 31 (doubled to 62) it shows a huge discrepancy. Both farms had identical crops, trees and animal pen out. I really think drops should be consistent for identical plantings.

I also hate waiting for those Bats to appear. There is quite a lapse but as soon as I have used the last one, four pop up!

Nellie, whatever drop shows on your screen, it doubles in the barn. I am glad they changed the drop rate otherwise it would have been impossible to finish. Agree that there was too many ep/tep/cc rewards. Especially the 5000 range:( No GB's on this farm. And coupons would have been better for the harvester;)

It tells me i have one Blood Tomato sauce in my barn and one of them in the mill and the bats have zero on them
Hopefully in the next few harvests of jelly ear fungus I will be finished ..can't wait to finish now ...I need 6 drops to get the cloud row
Has been nothing but a muddle from the startxD
But was nice to have an event for MM ...which gave us time to grow crops trying for the drops...I did eventually get a stable and a tree ...so am happy
Have finished the event and got the cloud row
And still have a field full of venus flytraps

Drop rate is WAY too low for just one field. I have been harvesting regularly, but not "sitting" on the computer, and am still just barely half way done with only a day left. Howies cannot be used on this field, but I do have a cloud row that is supposed to increase drop rates.

I like the fact that this is "even" for everyone, and the various prizes are nice -- I have gotten several terror bouquets, CAC and yellow bananas, for example. However, it is unlikely I will get the cloud row. At least it is the LAST thing, so I won't be sitting with an empty cloud row! I have not evaluated the givers, since I have so many already.

EDIT -- almost forgot about harvester. concur that if its not a coupon, just don't bother... it helps no one and is just frustrating. On the good side of the event, the fact that this lasted a while allowed a chance to work on various moonlight FSQ.

and yeah.. agree with comment below that this was intended to force us to buy stuff. Oh, I had quite a bit of SS and SSG stored up -- so basically, this drop rate was pretty unreasonable.

Well....I left the game for a while...for numerous reasons. I sent goodbye IM's to all of my awesome neighbouors to be fair to them. Recently I had mouth surgery and have some down time on my hands....decided to give Farmerama another go. Mostly because of the MM event!!
I have been farming my toosh off and I am only at 60/125. The CR is out of reach me thinks. The drop rate is obviously geared to force players to buy baskets or other buffs and stuffs. 99% of the prizes I have won have been EP and CC....not a good ratio of randomness-.- A few times I received the all harvester.....that was a super big waste as they used themselves up. :mad:GIVE out coupons as prizes!!!

As mentioned I am sure, the range of prizes are nice. Length of event is appreciated for MM. Drop rate far too LOW for a one field event. Even though BP changed the drop rate it does not give me incentive to continue playing or spending money on this game.
