We were looking forward to meeting Lilaclady today & such lovely weather here but for the best.
A bit of a rough morning came up with my other love - dogs and Lilac can keep her bugs! ;) Get better soon.

We'll do it another time, let's just hope for great weather then too. x
Just a picture of Lexi from a couple of weeks ago to keep others amused.

she got a flu bug and can't come visit you and Hector, little Freya, and the rest of the herd! I am sending "Feel better soon" wishes her way!;) I hope your dogs are ok!:inlove:

It wasn't my dog as such... but one I bred 11 years ago... Over the last 25 years + I have bred many dogs (fully tested and much loved), I have two in Germany still winning competitions, in the past, two in USA but now long gone, and three in Denmark, now also gone. And obviously lots in UK, either competing or much loved companions... I always say I am here as backup throughout their lives... I have travelled to trim toe nails, to whelp bitches and even had one girl home to see throughout her pregnancy and puppy rearing but this morning I was asked to accompany owner on his dogs final journey to vet... I had only seen this dog about 4 times in the last 11 years since he left me at 8 weeks but it was still a very emotional time. Mostly, I think seeing how much he was loved by his owner... Hey ho, that's what we have to accept taking on our fur babies, they never live long enough... :(

Lexi obviously thought the "rubber hose antler" suited her! I thought about you and the very sad trip you had to make today, never an easy one.

Karen, you know that he went to Rainbow bridge loved, it is always so sad when our fur babies need to leave. But the saying is they wait for you at Rainbow Bridge. It was a kind thing you did today.

You have a lovely sense of humor, Karen. :) I think what tipped sanddollar to the fact that it was an April fool joke was the "Boris is on a diet" bit. :D He would just sit in the sled. ;)xD :inlove:

I am sure that Boris would not have been amused at having to go on a diet!

Boris lost his remaining antler yesterday but I didn't want to post anything else until today BUT Shock Horror, guess who else has shed an antler this afternoon???? Oh little Freya is semi naked. Funny thing is, all the girls with 1 remaining (5 of them), they are all left antlers

Don't worry she isn't in pain, I just caught her mid yawn - another lazy Sunday afternoon!
Just Mischa & Lexi - it really was a lazy afternoon.

    Boris, just after shed.

I have thought Long & Hard about letting you know but decided I should, BUT bury in a post. I decided I should share, as you all know I have 6 expected babies and if I loose any (which I might) it is better for you to be prepared that reindeer calving often has lots of losses, rather than it upsetting you unduly... I am not prepared, as they are my babies BUT it happens.
The 3rd calf born in USA, 2 days ago, was found dead. He hadn't survived the birthing process. So very sad for the owners, as that was the only calf that they were expecting...
I will strive for 100% but to be honest, I was lucky last year....

I will miss Boris' silver antler! In the last pic....he seems to be showing you and perhaps asking...."Where's my manly rack gone?" LOL xD
Freya's yawn looks like she's laughing! Your herd is definitely full of personality! So much fun! Thanks for being so dedicated in keeping this thread alive!!!! ;)

Bless little Freya, she does look as though she is laughing. Perhaps all your girls are left hoofed! I am hoping that all goes well with your reindeer girls when they give birth, it must be a very stressful time for you.

Great pictures as usual! I am hoping Freya gets a new set of beautiful antlers this year, but it was easy for me to pick her out with "her huge" antlers!:inlove: lol
I appreciate your getting "us" ready for the "what if bus" during birthing season. It is hard to separate this is a natural thing, and us all wanting all your herd to have healthy, strong ,beautiful babies!
So for me, I will just keep fingers crossed and hope that "what if bus" just keeps going on up the road!;)
