Lilly - I just hope I don't post too much - would the "Powers that Be" close us down if we take up too many pages (149 is an awful lot but at least the followers know "reindeer aren't just for Christmas" now) ;)
BLZ - I am going to be toe gazing now, as I had never noticed Belle's white bits between her toes!

A picture today, not a great one but 3 babies close together and in this you can really see the difference in coat colour between Jeeves and Tigga. I must admit when single photos, it isn't always easy to tell which is which. (Tigga has more red in her coat)

i.e. this one took me a moment to tell. (it's Jeeves)

I sincerely hope that the "Powers that Be" do not close this post down because of the number of pages. It is the only post that really interests me, and I look forward to reading all your news and seeing your fantastic pictures. Love the picture of little Jeeves.

Lilac... hey but you are biased as you have met the adults! Just to reassure you that you are welcome back to meet the babies (and so too anyone else within driving distance)... but not Nov or December as they need their chill time.

Who remembers last year's tiny girl, Freya - way too small to survive. She did but tiny antlers.... but look at her antlers growing this year... They won't be huge, nor will she, BUT she's trying very hard!

Oh Bless her!:inlove: She IS going to have a wonderful set of "Big Girl" antlers!:inlove::inlove: Nice picture!
I for one would be VERY angry if for some reason they took this thread down! I so look forward to seeing your beautiful herd and to read what is going on with them and the posts that most of your followers post is very interesting and fun!

8)I must concur with the above posts!! This post is different from all the rest....it is REAL, and we can all (almost) participate in the growth and escapades of your wonderful herd. It is also a peaceful and loving thread, and I think we all find comfort and stress relief when we come here, and stress relief is a major reason why most of us play this game.
Karen, I must say that I'm sorry I never knew your Mother - she must have been a very wise woman! She certainly knew what to do for her daughter! What she didn't/couldn't have known was...how much she would also do for so many more!!:inlove:

This thread is one of the best things to come to this forum!! It is one of the 'constants' that is always here when we need a smile. Here, we all can share the ups and downs of real life with you and each other....and they are mostly the ups and 'sillies' of your amazing - and unusual for most of us - beautiful herd of...reindeer!! It doesn't go away or fade out, like others do. Without this thread, I'm not sure I'd even want to participate in the forum very much....and the forum is what makes this game as good as it is.

Sooo....PLEASE post lots and lots of pictures for us to ooooh and aaaah over!! :inlove::inlove::D

I really think the "powers that be" are smart enough to leave this thread alone - the consequences otherwise would not be pretty. And losing customers and their $$$ is not why they are in business.
(TeeHee.....In their defense, they probably enjoy this thread as much as we do! Welllll...maybe not AS much!!);)

I am another follower to the daily ups and downs of your beautiful herd. I find that I am popping into the game more often as I wait with bated breath for the next thrilling instalment of life with a real herd of reindeer.

I think everyone who reads this thread can see it is well loved and very educational thread with a group of people who are all very interested and more than a little in love with these wonderful and beautiful creatures. I would be devastated if anything closed this thread as it is like a calm oasis in a world that can be very lonely and isolating place and this is probably the closest most of us will ever get to these magnificent animals in all their splendour.

Karen I am sincerely thankful that you take time from your busy life to share these wonderful (both good and bad ) moments with us all.

The picture of Freya is as beautiful as she is, and I am sure she is trying very hard with those antlers! Hopefully I will be able to come and see her again soon as well as meet all the babies, and you know who!

Lily. You brought a tear to my eye... Thank you for making the connection that my mother has inadvertently brought happiness to many - a wonderful legacy and so fitting.

Today our weather has turned from wet, wet, wet to warm and pretty muggy and the babies have pretty much been sticking to the shade. The younger 3 in a nursery group - with Freddy doing his own thing. At first Hector was on nursery duty and later Katya... So sweet that once they get to about a week mothers' are (mainly) happy for them to get together and just one reindeer to look after them.

And there's a young pretender "on the Block" born this morning to my friend who has the TB issue in her cattle BUT he's a dead ringer for Freddy isn't he! Even down to the white on his muzzle!
EDIT.....And while we all absolutely adore Freddy, yet another doppelganger born in UK this evening... It's actually Belle that hasn't been replicated... yet!

Pleased to hear that Hector is taking his fatherly duties seriously, and also looking after his half sister! The "young pretender" is so cute.

Great pictures! The "pretender" is cute, BUT will not have Freddy's personality!!:inlove:
I just love the nursery pictures, and all the babies are just so cute!

It was this photo I was referencing. Sorry for the confusion. I should have done the quote the first time.

Love your photos!! And they may be gorgeous babies like Freddy - but none of them seem to be as strong looking, or have his soft, trusting eyes.
Belle is the only one who looks like a baby Hector....so none of the others get to look like him!! Lolol!!
And Freya??! Can't wait to see her antlers full grown!! Wow!

These pictures, from this morning are the usual reaction I get from my reindeer when I do a check.... but one of this afternoon's checks I turned up in a skirt and brightly coloured top.... they freaked... So funny as I can usually walk within a laying herd without them moving a muscle... Guessing it's the white Winter legs that freaked them! [IMG]:)

May edit later with a video of Freddy killing the baby water trough... just have to upload to Youtube..

!! In the 1st photo...is that Freddy all sprawled out toward the back/left near Jeeves/Tigga?? It looks like he is laying almost on his back! LOL! Not a care in the world! :):):inlove:

Lol! Karen, they might have thought your coat/'skin'(skirt) was loose from your body and was flapping in the wind!!! Your profile had changed - a different 'animal'! No wonder they freaked!! xDxD:music:

Is that Freya on the right in front of Hector?? It looks like she is...laughing!!:D:D (Or else is very pleased with her new 'Big Girl' antlers!!):D

How is Elsa?? Still almost another week+/-??

Love the photos!!! They look so peaceful!:inlove:

Lilly Pink you are correct in every way... well done. :) Even my occasional helpers fail, at times, to know who is who :( BUT you did!

I've uploaded the silly water trough video... Jeeves has found the steps to the adult watering trough (he's a thinker)... Freddy is the little Imp causing mayhem in the baby trough.. :)

Thank you, Karen. I still get the adults mixed up quite a bit!!:po_O Their coats change a bit with each molt - sort of like my "horse, of a different color" each year!!
I am learning, though, because of your wonderful photos, videos, and commentary!!:inlove::D

Do you think Freya feels the difference in her antlers? Maybe given her more confidence?? Or no?
