Carnival Queen - Strategy Thread

Well, I can successfully call myself a wally! I'm fairly convinced I am in fact a newbie player, not a long timer! I was happily milling away with one field of event crop in and when I went to harvest - no event crop but lots of bamboo and daisies ready to harvest. Oh great, starting with 66 seeds to plant

 

Ohhh no, TCRooster I feel so bad for you.

 

Is anyone else having lag or freezing issues? I keep getting the 'Farmerama is not responding' popup, having to refresh constantly. Just wondering if it's the game or my internet connection. So hard to catch all the goodies when it keeps freezing

 

so far knock on wood im doing ok... so less others have issues it can be just your internet... if or even if its not your connection , i would hold off collecting goodies till you can play with no issues... so save them baskets to play without missing stuff

 

Harvested I thought last field of event crop ... only had 746 of the 750 I needed for my last float donation my math's failed me ... LOL Need 38 more paper strips for last papier-mache, then I can finally play with the Monkey Queen. Waiting for nuked/refined roses to mature, will add 1 2x2 nuked event crop to finish last donation. Just a little longer and I'll be collecting some nice treats from the Monkey Queen.
@TCRooster bamboo & daisies were you sleep farming?

 

JJenks - I've only had about 2 lags for about 100 baskets with the Queen. I make sure all is clean(browser, cache etc.) and refresh often. Good luck!!!

 

Thanks I've rebooted router and it seems to be better now. Back to catching goodies

Down to only needing 66 paper strips now, if I've done my math correctly. Between the protea, raspberries and crop square I should have those by morning, and then it'll finally be off to the parade for me!

Edit: Just had a /headdesk moment when I realized it's 66 paper mache I still need, not paper strips. I thought I'd gotten those a little fast. I'll be over in the fields as I frantically harvest.

 

Just finished the Right side of float and the 1st step to the Middle. Figure I should be done in a day/day and a half then off to see the Monkey Queen!! YAY!!!

 

Woohoo! Done with event crops and paper strips! Now I just have to learn how to catch goodies with a basket - that will surely be a challenge for me

 

It's reassuring to read that not everyone has finished the float yet - I thought I was impossibly far behind!! The drop rate on my farm fell off so poorly (nothing else changed) that I have an excess of 4-5,000 crops...but can mill only 6-9 papers per harvest. Am changing to roses now; planted Protea on Baha.
Have about three donations to go to get to the Monkey Queen...will I still be in time to get lots of goodies??

 

I'm sure she'll have enough goodies for all of us, Lily_pink

 

I haven't started on the float at all, still collection paper (209 left) . Did all the crops.

Lily, I don't think you're that far behind. And the event is extended until Monday evening, so we should be able to have a lot of minigames. I got 134 basket, and I intend to fill them all

 

I had a lot of lag the first 10 or so games. That's when I decided to restart my computer and make sure no other program was running. It improved greatly.

 

only need 52 Mache and then i can do the crops.... may start useing what i have and work on them 200 something paper strips i will need for them 52 MACHE's.. I already know i wont make it today or tommrow with all the stuff i need....

 

Whew!! That's good news! It is taking sooooo long to do the float that it is almost discouraging. Like you, I also have all my crops, but getting enough drops to mill enough papers to complete all the float..........yaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!! It is driving me c-r-a-z-y!!

And I'm still planting amaranth, because it gives such good ep. Approximately equivalent to roses//time to harvest.....so I've decided to possibly keep growing them for the payoff at the end of the event, unless eventually replacing them with animals, but I have 156 baskets - and now there is another event!!! Eeeeeeeekkkkkkk....(goes running off into the sunset....!!!)

Edit: I must have had a buff running on my amaranth - it only gives half the ep today!! Guess I'll run for the roses!

For all those who have not finished the crop & paper strip part. Don't worry, there is lots of time. If you have suzy's super grow, use it to increase the yield of crops. You get good candy basket drops from animal/workshops. Use crafting buffs and pens or stalls that have high ep and takes 16 hrs or more to grow. Using buffs reduce their growing time. You will get lots of candy baskets and only thing is you have to play them and it takes some time and energy to catch the goodies.

Besides what Brooke suggested above (I generally get the game performing better by just closing Chrome -all windows/tabs- and reopening it), be sure to check if Flash Player's Website Storage Settings has Limit set for mylittlefarm-171-dwl.bpsecure.com to "Unlimited". To do so, right-click on any part of the game, go to Global Settings -it opens a Flash Player's tab-, there go to Website Storage Settings, highlight the url I mention before and check Always allow. This will set it to Unlimited. You have to check this rather often (I do whenever I notice the game is performing too slow) because, for some reason, all this tweaking they make with the site makes Chrome to erase your previous choice and setting it to 100 KB. It means it stores just 100 KB at any given time, which is extremely low for this game, and hence causing slow performance. This must be done in addition to closing Chrome and reopening it and/or what Brooke suggested above.

 

I gained a new addiction MQOCD
Over the past 24 hours I've played about 500 mini games just because I had time for it today and I treasure all the rewards! Also finally able to see my level bars moving into the green again and quite fast too!
300 GB, 1100 PF, 1550 FC, 3000 SG, 750 SSG, 1150 STM, and the level based rewards: 25m TEP, 11m EP, 5m CC

I'm not a big fan of spending real cash on this free game but have to say these buyable baskets are worth their price. The amount of prizes and the extra EP/TEP/CC that you'll be able to gain with them easily outrun the costs if you have to buy those individually.

Crops all done, just 328 drops left to get I think if calculations are correct. Away for a few days with family so got tablet with me to put long crops in and hopefully all ready for the fun with the queen for a few hours on Monday
