When I first started playing I wondered which plots (2x2 vs 1x1) were more efficient when starting with a limited number of seeds, so I gave all the information to my brother and made him do the math for me. :music:

His calculations were that 2x2s gave the best return, until you have around 125 seeds, at which time the return was best from the 1x1s. (He didn't calculate the 1x2s, though I could probably ...persuade... him to do that calculations as well. :music:xD)

This is important for events, when we start out with only 10 seeds:

    10 2x2 plots= 50 seeds returned (gain of 40)
    10 1x1 plots= 20 seeds returned (gain of 10)

We're even further limited with the Little Helpers event because our plots available are limited in addition to the seeds:

    7 2x2 plots = 35 seeds (gain of twenty-eight) plus 3 2x1 plots= 9 seeds (gain of 6) = 44 seeds
    OR
    7 2x2 plots = 35 seeds (gain of twenty-eight) plus 3 1x1 plots - 6 seeds (gain of 3) = 31 seeds

1x2 plots would be a return of 30 seeds ( 20 gained) and 1x1s would be a return of only 20 seeds (10 gained)

    For whomever is interested:

The correlated Farmers Society quest needs in total:

    needrewardtotal need
    1750-4001350chocolate roses
    160-16144skewers
    5450-11004350coloured corn
    1010grilled corn
Just to keep that in mind as well, as this is on top of the "normal" event donations.

AUNTIE EDIT SAYS: Keep also in mind, that the quest is only open until June 7th, whereas the event itself is running until June 10th

Has anyone found the quest for the Little Helpers event?
I can't find it anywhere, not in Farmer's Society or anywhere on the event field. I remember seeing an OA that it would accompany the event but I-.- can't find that announcement now. It's a mystery ...

Updated original post to include info about the new companion quest tomorrow and a couple of additional notes. :music:

Also, the playfield is almost identical to the main field and green meadow (it's missing two 1x1 plots but the layout is the same), so I turned my main field into a pretend playfield and took these pics for anyone trying to figure out how to fit as many 2x2 plots onto it as possible.

Click on the spoiler to see the pics. ;)

I'm actually really excited for this event! But how great, it comes right in the middle of exams :D So I'll just be doing what I can with the time I have. Haven't really bothered with any calculations, I'll just see how much I can get done

I did 8 camels in the breeding motel, all breeding gave 1 drop. I thought it would be random, but nope all 8 produced one skewer each.
I too am excited for this event, squigglegiggle. I like having to work to open up field, and no cac etc, making it easier for lower levels, and a bit more challenging than usual for us cac-abusers. Before the camels checked in I already had 27 drops, an still not opened more than 3 section.

This is a post I made this morning and the shady way I was answered. I guess I asked the wrong question. ...
I found this quote at the bottom of the FAQ Board for the event.
Title: Little Helpers FAQ foot note??? Breeding

    ME:
    "Howdy Farmers,
I am sorry for the miscommunicated information regarding receiving drops during Breeding. We have been informed that the drop item Skewers, will drop when Breeding.
    Best Regards,
    Your Farmerama Team"

Please tell me what you are talking about.? Are we suppose to be breeding something?
I re-read the FAQ after reading this amendment and still don't see anything about having to breed. Please clarify statement.
    Thank you.
    No more questions.

    ANSWER: Hello ilsa1.
You don't need to breed anything.
    Can we assist you further?
    Intrepiduer

ME: No, I guess there is nothing further. But I still don't understand why that comment is there at the bottom of the Little Helpers 2017 FAQ??
    Thank you

    ANSWER:You're very welcome.
    OP relieved, closing thread.
    Intrepideur

I never said I was relieved. and I don't really feel like this was a very good answer after finding out what I found out...
I had some breeding that I forgot to harvest during B-Boom so I though to myself ??? I wonder??? So I went and harvested them and quess what I found?
YEAP! You got it. I found Skewers!!
Wonder why I wasn't told that I could breed to get drops if I wanted to BUt I don't have to???? I even more or less asked again by saying, "But I don't understand why that comment is there..." ? Then it's posted OP relieved?? I never said I was relieved my last statement clearly shows I'm still confused, not clear.

What do you make of this little exchange, too?

In the Farmers Society Quests there is a companion quest for this event. The first step rewards you with Chocolate Roses. It's worth doing as I helps you along in the event when you need them the most.

@ilsa1 I believe the answer to your question is that the original FAQ states we get drops from the event playfield only. The amendment/footnote is pointing out that this is an error and, in fact, we can also get drops from breeding.

I must admit, I was a bit surprised to see that they closed your thread when you stated you were still confused, but I imagine it was closed because you said "there is nothing further".

In terms of strategy, now that this event has been going for a few hours, I think I'm actually going to turn my hand to the accompanying FSQ before I make any mark on the event itself. I can get a good bunch of stars through that and it is a lot easier to complete than the event itself. Once that is done I will then complete as much of the event as I can within my time restrictions, but won't push too hard to get it done.

Without a shadow of a doubt, this is a must do Quest. It's also very doable. My farm is not a rich farm and I was able to do all of the task up to needs event items. Only six task left to do. Task 4 B-C Task 5 C (I gained 2x Fruity Pancake for 1+ rainbow corn crops) and all of Task 6 left to do.

Are you opening all the land first, or finishing the quest first?

Both can be done at once. However I am prioritising my donation of chocolate roses to the event first before the quest, as having the entire land open will make growing rainbow corn for the quest easier. It would be really hard to grow 1000+ rainbow corn without having the whole land open. So I am doing as much of the quest as possible (up to donation of event crops), then opening the rest of the land, then finishing the quest - and then doing what I can of the event.
